Thank you I understand now very well explained, still a sweet phone
You do indeed have a very nice phone. If you can hold out 6 months or so, perhaps sooner, you should start to see 4G LTE start to light up in your area, and then your phone will suddenly become even sweeter.

4G WiMax and 4G LTE are two completely different things. Your Android was a WiMax phone, your iPhone is an LTE phone.
Hence your WiMax phone does not work on LTE, and vice versa.
Capishe?

Columbus, Ohio does not have 4G LTE. Everything is working fine.

Joplin is in the Missouri market and should be started. I don't know if that means getting the paper work out and finding pencils or people going to the tower.http://s4gru.com/ind...d-adds-20-more/
I'm right next door, so if I get a chance this weekend, or maybe next I may make a road trip over to see if anything is going on.

At some point in the near future, any tower that is complete should be activated, if they follow the trend in SF, Chicago, and Boston. So if you don't have LTE in the next few days, likely this means there are no towers completed in your area, and an official "launch" isn't going to change anything. In areas which have been soft launched such as LA, the trend has been for Sprint to release towers into the wild right away, with limited exceptions.

Are all of the panels in your area the little short and fat ones? Compared to the ones used in Texas?
I'm curious as well since I believe the length of the panel is dependent on the type of signal, so all NV panels should be of similar length since they are all designed for 1900/800. I'm not sure how the short ones would work... ? Unless they are actually longer than they appear.

Samsung seems to upgrade large clusters all at once, so it's possible that what you are seeing is part of the NV upgrade. However, I'm sure there are other reasons for the issues as well. And I would take anything that a Sprint representative tells you with a grain of salt.

It'll flip back and forth, with no discernible pattern, but the whole page will go to French. Now, that's not a problem for me...
but for others I would imagine it might prove to be annoying, if it's even happening to others.

It has been part of the plan to add more coverage in densely populated areas via Clear's new LTE network. There will be no expansion on the WiMax network.

The site has been showing up in French for me for the last few days until it went down, at least on my end. Perhaps it's related?

Are other people having problems with Sensorly? I am unable to connect to their web site on multiple computers using multiple browsers, nor on my GS3 using Dolphin. When I run the mapping app on my phone, it counts points (Yay! I'm getting tiny amounts of LTE on the south side of Crystal Lake, IL!), but never updates points on the map, nor does it appear to transmit results. Anyone have any insight???????
I would assume they are having a problem. I haven't been able to visit the site for a day now. I don't know if this would be affecting the upload of collected data or not.

I noticed lte dropped about a mile away. Considering there were no obstacles in the way, I thought that was weird.
Most likely it is due to the downtilt on the cell, in areas that have a denser population, the cells are tilted more in order to maximize capacity rather than maximize range. This will cause each cell to have a small footprint, but there are likely a large number of cells in the area.

Is the website down? Has been for a good part of the day.
I haven't been able to get the site to load either for me for the last day now.

what market is the pictures taken?
I'm not sure, but it is Alcatel-Lucent Equipment.
-
What should i look for when im looking at a sprint tower? Like how big are 4g lte pannels. Where should the modem or what ever u call it should it be behind the pannel? Also should there be a difference in the cabinet size at the bottom of the tower?
Once of the best example of legacy (skinny) vs. NV (large) panels that I have seen out there. More here.

I would just send them to their respective market thread. Unless an eHRPD specific thread would be helpful?

This new site is pretty ugly looking. Only positive is the size. Those icons are horrible. The map layers are horrible as well. Maybe I'm partial to how maps apps should really look.
Agree. Bizarre map, bizarre icons... could've done a lot better to just use regular Google maps!

Thanks. Wonder if they charge you for that. I know the do it your self on the web is free if it works.
No charge as far I could tell. Just as there isn't a charge for any other support call that I am aware of.

So I was right!
Maybe...
But probably not...

I think you were! I misread your post initially.... I thought it just said second rack, not second from the bottom, which would be the same thing that I was saying.

If you are holding on to the signal, then that is not an issue with the phone. I have an EVO LTE, and in my part of Kansas City, the network was very far along, and I did not have issues with it. Do what you have to, but I would recommend waiting it out.
-
Your plan will not change, but it can be difficult to switch between an LTE device and a WiMax device. I could not switch between my EVO 3D and EVO LTE on my own, I had to put in a call to Sprint to make the switch. At least the last time. For some the switch online works. Regardless, the plan is the same.

The location of the upgrades have nothing to do with socioeconomic status, device saturation or market size. It's simply the first tower to have completed backhaul, and have all the pieces in place. Sprint is not picking certain sites over others, it just the order in which they are physically able to complete the upgrades. Do no read into the locations of upgraded towers, because there is nothing there.

I pick it up more and more places but I'm really thinking there's a problem with the EVO. There's threads on xda about it. Even when I pick it up at my house, usually by forcing lte only or airplane mode the speed has been bad. I used to get 10+ down and just now I got .57 Mbps down tethering to my laptop with a -108 signal. I'd like to test out another phone to see if its the tower or my phone.
Normally, a speed like that would be attributed to a very weak signal. However, if you are getting that speed with that signal (which is fair, not great but not poor) than it may be an issue with the tower. I would try a different tower and see if you still get that result.
The issues with the EVO LTE have been discussed extensively on this site, it is well acknowledged that there is an issue. Once all of the towers are completed, it should be less noticeable.
Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

When Sprint announces Chicago, most likely only about 60% of the towers will be completed. It will take until December or early January for the market to be completed. Any tower that is completed is being released into the public so far as we can tell, so announcing the market won't change anything if you still aren't getting a signal. Only when the towers nearest you are completed will the signal finally settle down.
