From what I read on the home page of the forum with they first started noticing issues with the Tri-Band phones they said that when you receive a text you are dropped back to CDMA which is only a fraction of second. Is that enough to know you off B41 if you don't have Spark? Here is the paragraph from that article where it says it. "When the Sprint network tries to forward a call/text to your device but cannot see it via CDMA, it then checks for an LTE connection to your device. If it sees one, it tells your device to disconnect from LTE for a moment and reconnect to CDMA. Your device then jumps over to take the call or text on Sprint CDMA and the LTE session is interrupted. This happens very fast and seamlessly. Except for the loss of data availability. If it is just a text, the data session is only interrupted for fractions of a second and is likely not even noticed by the user."

Ok. I will get a picture tomorrow. Sorry still learning some things so please don't shoot me. I just know it is frustrating with the sub par speed being as close as I am to the tower. No buildings or obstructions in between.

Thank you for this post. This helped me understand how Spark would help more. Last night while sitting the car I was on B25. Eventually went into the school to get my son and my phone switched over to B41. Now the signal was faint but got 2.35mb down on -119. Turns out the tower was closer to me then the B25 tower I was connected to but the B25 tower pretty much overruled the B41 tower. The G2 needs Spark badly. Thanks for this post again Eric

I work at Manchester and 270. You have Scottrade, Edward Jones, Charter, West County Mall and a bunch of other buildings around here. There are only 2 RRUs per sector. You have the 270 & 64 tower which helps a little. You have the tower on Dougherty Ferry that helps a little and the new one at Manchester and Lindbergh. But all of those towers are out of range of this area to help. The sector I'm on is pointed at all of these heavily populated buildings and is struggling to help. Be nice if band 41 was active but it isn't on that tower.

I tested mine also does the same thing. My guess it is something to do with saving the battery and unlocking it unnecessarily.

Not sure what happened to the camera on yours. I took a picture at night at steinberg and it came out crystal clear. Also I recorded a video of my son at school dancing and it was amazing as well. I have my camera set for W10M 4160x2340 (16:9)

You can activate the other two bands on the G2 but you don't have Spark icon or whatever else comes with it. I can get B41 on my phone just fine. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
