Please, please tell me exactly how I would deactivate the integration?

Easiest way that I've found is to pull up GV on a computer and in settings click to disable integration. The app was always a pain to me.

Yeah I couldn't find it in the app, either. You have to go to www.google.com/voice but if it detects a mobile browser it won't work. Either use your computer or if your phone browser is set with a desktop user agent it will work. The option is listed somewhere in the options to disable the integration.

I know many will respond that everything is perfect with their phone. But, I am wondering why does my phone take quite a while from the time I hit the dial button to the actual time it starts to ring? Sometimes it can take 25 seconds, sometimes, it doesn't ring out at all then I say something such as "hello" and my voice echo's back and sometimes it just has a long delay then ends the attempt of the call.

 

The most common issue is the loooong delay from the time I hit dial to an actual ring occurs.

 

Lastly, this has not JUST started. I believe it all started once I received the Spark update. It could of been before that but I think it start with the update that brought Spark.

When I tried Google Voice integration, my phone acted just like this. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I deactivated the integration, my phone went back to normal and my calls go through within seconds and no more call quality issues.

I guess that means that people can now talk, surf and drive at the same time..

I found this interesting. Disney has been trying to keep people connected to all aspects of their trip using your cell phone to check wait times, show times, reservations, making and modifying fast passes, etc. the downside of this, obviously, is battery life. I wonder if something like this may show up in other places.

My wife and I both have the G2. I never let my phone run until it shuts off. My wife does all the time, though. Last week I went over 100 hours on battery and last night I went 57 hours before charging. My wife generally gets only 18-20 hours on her battery. Not very scientific, but I keep telling her that letting it die is a bad idea and overall it seems even when I use mine really hard it lasts longer than hers.

I would think that Sprint would want to differentiate Native LTE with roaming LTE in hopes that a customer would be less inclined to go batshit crazy pulling heavy roaming data. I tend to be pretty light with use whenever I notice the roaming triangle on my phone.

I'm still not a fan of the Framily commercials and it is embarrassing to hear coworkers make fun of them and associating me with Sprint. There has to be a better way to get people talking about Sprint.

Unfortunately, once you lose LTE with any phone it can take a while to reconnect. This is because the battery drain would be ridiculous if the scan time was set really low. I used to think my G2 took a long time to rescan for LTE, but oddly enough it seems to reconnect more quickly now with the KitKat update.

The advice is pretty good about making sure there isn't any app running that is using data, because it won't reconnect until the data connection is idle. There is an app made by a member here called LTE Discovery that lets you set a rescan to as little as 20 seconds. It works pretty well and suggest you check it out.

Finally, I wouldn't worry about "going for 2 years with 3G". NV is moving along and more and more sites are broadcasting not only band 25, but also bands 26/41. There are even places that don't have band 25 yet but broadcasting strong band 41 LTE. Every week the LTE footprint gets bigger and more seemless. I wouldn't worry much. Soon the LTE scan time will be a moot point.

When I tried Google voice integration, it sounded noticeably worse than before. I also had delayed calls and calls that never came through. I personally recommend to people not to mess with it, but that's just my personal experience with it.

I am at the Town Center holding onto a faint band 41 signal. Oddly, Signal Check shows PLMN 310120 but engineering screen shows 311870. Even at -121 dBm I am getting sub 100 ms pings and 2 mbps down but 0.07 up. I held it to -136 before being pushed to band 25.

St Augustine hasn't had an update in 7 months. Every 4G only and 3G only is exactly as it was last year. No band 41 progress that I can see and no 800 MHz anywhere that I can find. I'll be happy to just see a 3G acceptance just so I can see that work is being done. Right now, every time that something gets accepted, it seems like it is in Gainesville or Miami/Palm Beach.

I really like the Kitkat update. Everything is snappy and stable.

91 hours on my battery. I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with ADT but from the estimate, I can still make it to 100 hours. I don't know why, but I feel really excited to see it hit 100. My wife thinks I am crazy, but I will show her...

Are you a light user of your phone?

I'm usually a heavy user, but the past few days I have been busy with other things so I'm on the iPad or laptop more while I surf. I have sent a good number of texts and made a few calls that were only a couple of minutes each while also checking gmail often, but basically that is all standby time while using the phone occasionally for phone related tasks and not streaming Spotify or going online much. I only have just over an hour of screen time so far. Right now, I want to see if I can get through the week on one charge. Even when I used my phone lightly before kitkat, I never saw the phone last this long before. This is like pre-smartphone days when my Nokia flip phone would go 5 days on a charge. Without internet, there wasn't much need to use the phone heavily back then.

I haven't charged my phone since Monday morning and I am holding strong at 48% remaining. I might be able to make it to Friday at this pace. Holy Kitkat, Batman!

How's everyone s battery life after kk update? I done a factory reset to hopefully fix my signal drop issue and since I've updates before and after the reset it seems like it drains fastrr. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

After 3 hours of standby I am still at 100% battery. While I was at Disney, I used my phone a lot with the Disney app to check wait times, make dining reservations, change fast pass times, take pictures and video and check in on my house with my ADT pulse app and after 15-16 hour days of pretty decent use I usually hit the hotel with a healthy 50-60% battery remaining. By the way, I find it ironic that for being the official wireless partner of Disney, I noticed an AT&T customer had worse service than I did while I was in the line to Soarin.

I still don't have my KitKat update. I want it to just ask me to download like normal, I do not want to skip the proper steps. I know when the updates started, but, what is the stretch that they will sent the updates to everyone? What is the maximum I will need to wait?

It took 11 days before I got the ZVA/Spark update. After the 4th day of waiting for KitKat, I just cleared Google Framework and forced the update. I wanted to have it out of the way before I left on vacation.

I'm at Bay Lake Tower hotel at Disney World on the 11th floor pulling a -92 dBm LTE signal. Last time I was here in January this spot was still legacy 3G.

My battery life is great as well. I am currently at 7 hours 36 minutes use and have an estimated 49 hours and 48 minutes remaining. I have since surfed the web for maybe 30 minutes on it, used gps for approximately 29 miles, sent and received a lot of texts from family (it's my anniversary today), received 2 phone calls about 15 minutes each and checked my bank account, paid some bills and updated 2 apps. I did notice that "navigation" is gone and now you have to go into Google Maps now to use navigation. I am enjoying how responsive it is with the new update. Sometimes before the update it took a while for my web browser to initially pull up the first page I look up and the remote control doesn't lag as much to launch like before.
