  1. I would say the LTE portion of that is a mistake and it's really referring to CDMA on 800 only.  Since no devices have passed the FCC supporting LTE on that band class, there aren't any out that currently support LTE on 800.

EDIT:  Unless they are referring to the hotspots and broadband card that are coming out this summer that support LTE on 800MHz.

The samsung Galaxy s4 on samsung website says it can handle LTE on 800mhz.

  2. Sure cant wait till its live. past year has been terrible for sprint service here. any idea how long it takes to complete a city this size?

Earlier In this form Someone got out of a Sprint technician that Central Illinois will have Lte by November 25. But that isn't necessarily saying it will be full Lte but I guess by the end of the year Central Illinois will be announced.  I was in Nashville in March and had no LTE readings but now Nashville is lite up with purple on Sensorly. And sprint has either Luanched it And has it on its coverage maps. I didnt take them that long with that and Peoria is smaller.

  3. Got Lte in Morton today. It was the tower by the I-155 and I-74 interchange but i had to be right under the tower and when i moved from it a little bit i went a couple of block and lost it. can they limit how far it goes till it drops to 3g? I would try everything update the prl and get 4g than 3g. Also is it maybe because the tower on Queenwood is updated to Lte.

  4. NetMonitor does not tell you which LTE site you're connected to. Only which 1x site you're connected to. You can only tell which LTE site you're connected to by looking at the LTE Engineering screen in your debug menu.

Rooted devices do not get faster speeds on the network. You were either connected to a different site, to a different sector on the same site, or your dad's device is a weaker RF performer than yours.

Thanks for the clarification and is the RF dependent upon devices because we have the same phone.

  5. I'm new to this whole thing, but I've been following this thread for quite some time.  would just like to add that I had LTE on 24 from ICC to due north of Washington this morning.

Does anyone know how to see more detailed tower info on an iPhone 5?  I have sensorly, but that doesn't tell me much.

Hey I live in Mackinaw. besides that point did you map it in sensorly.

  6. About the sprint putting equipment on U.S. Cellular tower they have intentions of doing so in the markets it bought from them to improve coverage and capacity. Quote "Sprint stated its intentions to replace U.S. Cellular’s aging CDMA gear with its new Network Vision architecture" (Gigaom). Link to the article

    http://gigaom.com/2013/08/29/sprint-will-sunset-u-s-cellulars-network-in-st-louis-oct-31-chicago-on-jan-31/

This is great news for central Illinois market because it will significantly increase there coverage here. U.S. Cellular has great coverage in the Midwest. I think Sprint Should buy the rest of U.S. Cellular.

  7. In Mackinaw this morning i was getting full bar and then all of a sudden it went back to normal service which is 1-2 bars. i was just wondering could this be 800 being tested. is there any Nextel towers or us cellular towers going to updated with sprint on it? would really love full bar and also if i don't have off roaming i constantly roam. i don't have roaming turned on because i don't like using roaming when i connect to sprint without it on. any ideas on the first three sentences.

  8. Has anyone been on sensorly lately. If not look at how fast It is expanding towards Galesburg. I was in Kansas City MO (Lee's Summit) and was getting awesome speeds like 27-35Mbs constantly during the day and night. In the three days I was there i used a total of 14.5Gb. I am glad i switched from verizon this would of never been possible with limited data. Also does anyone know if your phone is rooted does that increase speed because i would run speedtests with my dads phone that isnt rooted and my phone being rooted i got over 30 Mbs when my dad phone would only hit 10Mbs or so. Also I knew that we were on the same tower by the netmoniter app.

  9. I think that the specs are 1900 1xRTT, EVDO, LTE and 800 1xAdvanced for Sprint. All Sprint phones can also roam on VZW 850. If I'm wrong, someone please feel free to correct me

Yeah you Are correct but it also has EVDO 0n 800mhz (dont think sprint is putting EVDO Rev. A on 800mhz though). Frequinecies:

    Frequencies and Data Type

    LTE: Band 25 (1900MHz); CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev A, 800/850/1900MHz
  10. Just passed by the tower right outside of Morton illinois and they were working on the tower they had a trailer full of equipment. Tested the download speeds on the tower was getting abot 2.5 Mbs-3.5Mbs. I was pretty shocked. for most of the people still waiting on network vision you have something great to look foward to. i wish it was being turned on with lte but for now i will take those speeds.  :)
