  1. I haven't ever had an issue with my HTC devices. Has Sprint tried giving a new Sim card or tried giving a new phone if the issue continued. Has she did a profile update as that may help because when I first got my One Max it wanted me to do a PRL and Profile update before it could be used on 4g.

  2. Thats a tough deal man.  Really it is. Danvers/Mackinaw/Minier combined probably has a population count high enough to justify a tower but the way the towns are spaced probably makes it a tough call.

I know there are, or at least were, US Cellular towers in Danvers and Minier.  I've not been out that way in quite some time - have you driven by those sites and tried to see if there is any new activity at the site? Sprint is converting an old USCC tower here in my town - and have done so with a bunch of other sites scattered throughout Central IL, Chicago, and Missouri.  If Sprint did not gobble those sites up - already existing towers - it probably does not look good for physically adding a brand new tower structure.

Hopefully I'm wrong and you guys can get some Sprint love out there!

Yes they are converting one in Danvers but I don't know about the one in Minier. They said that they are assessing it here in Mackinaw. There are a lot of Sprint costumers in Mackinaw but no tower. Thats why they said they already evaluated it and saw it would be a good place now its up to the local technicians to find where the tower can be placed. I am very hopeful they are also looking around the Galesburg rurals areas. Such as Abingdon and Wataga.

  3. I have some news for anyone that lives in the Mackinaw area. I contacted Sprint about a cell tower being put up in Mackinaw area. They replied to me and said that they are having their local technicians are going to come assess land around Mackinaw and will get back to me once they have more information on the assessment. This is my hope that we will get coverage in the so called black hole area for all cell services. This Black Hole Includes Mackinaw, Danvers, Miener, And anywhere from Mackinaw to Bloomington on route 9 where coverage isn't that strong. On another note I think that there was a U.S. Cellular conversion turned on in the area because my father told me that he had LTE all the way to Fast avenue in Mackinaw until he dropped to one bar.

One can only hope that they put up more towers in this area and also along route nine and also western Illinois.

Edit: Sprint already had the look at the area around Mackinaw and are having their team come out and try to find a place for the tower to be put up.

Heres: The quote from Sprint Care: We completed a review of Mackinaw & we will be considering a proposal by our local team to add a site to the area. ERSAQ

  4. Yea I know I've been seeing it all day but I'm sure if it was the other way around and T-Mobile came out ahead of Sprint OVERALL then it would call for a celebration. But I'm really shocked at how the tech sites have gave sprint their credit. T-Mobile just got caught slipping simple as that and shocked everyone else.

Yeah I know I was surprised and proud of Sprint. I have never had an issue with them since I've been with them. I will be a Sprint customer for Life.

  5. Besides the data speeds, Sprint held their own overall. I was looking at the article on phonearena and was shocked they came in third I was expecting T-Mobile to take. So T-Mobiles network is not all too reliable and that speed is one thing but if you don't have a all around reliable network it won't go for much.

Sprint will absolutely do well in 2015. I'm happy with the results shown. BUT I know people will find a way to discredit Sprints results.

People have already started discrediting them by saying that Call and Texting are the thing of the past and they they dont matter.

If I can't make a phone call or texts cant go out then i would be mad. I love my data but overall I want a network that will work for me in every way. Nobody lets Sprint have their time to shine. They are just hurt that T-Mobile lost to Sprint. Imagine how Johns' ego feels now. LOL

  6. Does anyone have any speeds for the 4g in central Illinois how fast or slow . For Bloomington Normal, Peoria area.

Blo-No has pretty decent speeds. If you go to the west on I-74 you run into B41 and get speeds up to the Mid 50 Mbs. You get 25 Mbs when you only have about 1-2 bars. B25/26 I get about 30 Mbs in the Peoria and Morton area. Sprint's speeds in central Illinois seem to be faster than a lot of places in the United States.

  7. Thanks Evan I am going to give them a shot. Data coverage isn't a big a deal as voice coverage so we will see. Does sprint have voice roaming. I am in rural areas quite a bit.

Sprint has towers in random places I have found out in towns in the middle of nowhere Example Altona Illinois only carrier that has coverage in that area. Sprint also has good coverage sometimes phones connect to roaming even when their is native Sprint Coverage thats why I never use roaming and I always have Coverage not necessarily data but definitely voice coverage.

  8. Coming in, I visually saw the panels on the tower just west of Northwoods mall - got about 28 and 32 Meg, 10 up.

Then went to the Bass Pro Shop - had a B41 signal except the in back and tested about 18-20Meg, and then B26 was pretty good and got about 8 Meg.  I think the tower I was pulling was the 4-points downtown hotel one.

Also went by Bradley - that tower didn't even have any LTE yet :o

Then the tower by the Grand Praire mall didn't have B41 yet, but B26 was very usable at 12Meg.

Looking in my SCP logs, it looks like I picked up B41 off of a few other towers....we should get a Premier thread going to track progress!!

Yeah if you travel more around P-Town and other surrounding towns Spark is activated on their towers. When I am at the Northwoods mall I get around 45 Mbs and that was during black Friday shopping when P-Town was packed with shoppers. The fastest town I have tested that has Spark has been Pekin where I have gotten 55 Mbs.

  9. Costco has just dipped under 3 bucks a gallon. Gas on account from the local merchant is about 3.25 currently, retail gas is about 3.90 to 4.10 at normal stations. Extreme rural stations, the small islands and harbors is probably in the 5 bucks a gallon range. Our local refinery is setup to only take sweet crude so or oil market is a little different to the mainland,  we are still fighting with the demands from Japan for sweet crude for their oil power plants after they shut their nuclear stations down.

Having a bike as a 2nd vehicles means our gas is pretty decent, it only drinks about $20-$30 a month, does about 60mpg. Time on the farm and cane roads is taking its toll on the mpg though! Amazing fun to be had chasing a truck on the cane roads. The car is doing pretty well on the farm but we really need the extra ground clearance. The new colarado looks pretty much in line with what we would want from a truck, but we can get pretty much the same from a CRV with the potential for better fuel economy and lower maintenance costs. That and the Honda dealer is vaguely human and I like wrenching on them. Doesn't hurt they are reliable and safe either.

Ford made some astoundingly good normally aspirated engines, my experience was their turbos were less reliable. Ford also managed to do cheap fairly well as long as you stayed away from anything 'fancy'. When I look now I see price parity with Honda et al and cars that are increasingly complicated. Mazda are doing some great things with high compression normally aspirated engines that run on normal gas, they reckon by 2020 they will have sparkless gasoline engines running diesel level compression and much higher efficency than current engines. Basically taking the knocking effect and controlling it to detonate on demand. Pretty interesting and fairly basic to implement, rather than a relatively complicated turbo. Mazda do have to prove the engines will last though. At least we are seeing a massive improvement in gas mileage. Thanks for the comments on the colorado, will give the first model year a chance to iron out the bugs and see how it does.

GAs in Central Illinois is almost under 2 dollars for a gallon.

  10. I'm trying to get my dad to switch to that but he seems uninterested. He is clinging on to Unlimited data for dear life which is funny considering he only uses 1GB each month. If he tries, he can hit 2GB. I'm 9 days into the billing period and I am at 1.83GB. My two aunts who are on this plan with us each use between 1 and 2GB each month.

I was 10 days into my billing cycle and used 7 Gigs. Im nearing the end of our billing cycles and have used 15 gigs and still climbing. All from testing Sprint Spark.

  11. We have had two Ford vehicles withSync with MyFord Touch and both have worked perfectly not one issue. Our 2013 Flex SEL crashed twice and rebooted. Now Our 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium has never had any issues or crashed in the five months tht we have owned it. It is sad that Ford is no longer going to support the existing systems with their next update. In my opinoin I like the layout of the current MyFord Touch system.

  12. You can get the M8 HK edition for $15 a month on easy pay.

Sent from my Sprint LG G3

You can get the GS5, GS5 Sport, and iPhone 6 for 5 dollars a month as long as you are on plans created before Framily Plan. Its Costumer Loyalty Program But if you are on Framily or newer plans don't qualify even if you have been with Sprint 2 years or 15 years.
