  1. It probably means they are testing the tower and it is a low power setting. I am glad to here you guys are finally getting the speeds you deserve, central Illinois has been hit with bad data speeds for way to long.

Where I live the speeds are pretty decent the speeds in Pekin near Walmart are consistent at 25 to 30 Mbs. But downtown Pekin the tower only gets about 5 Mbs. Morton Both of its towers hit 25 to 30 Mbs all the time. Some locations in Peoria are good by the Metro Center that tower hits about the 15 to 20 mark. Bloomington is good but the signals are weak at Heartland's Campus. I cant complain Sprint is pretty good to what I have heard from other portions of the United States but they could just be whiners also.

  2. Do you have an engineering screenshot or signal check screen shot?

No I will try to get one but I was looking at the Signal Check Pro. Pekin Usually has very high LTE speeds on 1900 LTE but that only usually gets to 32 Mbs I have never reached 40+ Mbs before. Also it was at 1 bar of service which was weird in itself because the tower isn't even a quarter mile from Menards. But I will try to get a signal Pro screen shot for you guys. This was also on an HTC One Max.

  3. You stare at towers as you drive by and passengers just look at you oddly

You teach/surprise sprint employees with information while waiting for your phone to be set up

You argue with your usual bartenders/servers at chillies about why Sprint has bad service in their restaurant  (specifically because the closest site hasn't been LTE accepted yet -.-)

You convince multiple people to stick it out with Sprint

You always check what LTE band you are on in every single building, forever, always

You ask your brother to check what LTE band he is on when not at home and to run speed tests and send screenshots to you

Your brother and his girlfriend now call this "your sprint forums website"

You tell them all this sprint related stuff and say it's so exciting, only to get the "you're obsessed" comment in return   :(

A sprint store wants to hire me because of the things I Know about Sprint. I went into the store and stayed their for an hour teaching two employees about the different things. I feel achieved. I do the first thing on your list and people also stare at me like I am a freak.

  4. If you see Robert's post earlier, this is an old map version. All the launches from the last several months were lost. They're working on a fix.

Yes I Know that it was a broke link from a few months ago. I was just saying it looks like central Illinois barley has LTE.

  5. St. Louis no longer has Spark according to this map. I know it messed up. St Louis has Spark because when i was downtown by the arch I was getting 60mbs consistently BUt it is not wide spread you can walk over a coule block and may not lose B41 but it has a significant drop in data speed around 25 Mbs.

Almost all of Central Illinois lost its data

  6. Don't get too excited. We believe the maps are now showing LTE coverage from any site that has been completed, not just launched markets. And given how overly optimistic their maps are, what you see is probably their representation of the LTE coverage that already exists. Don't expect any major changes in actual LTE coverage this week. Unless a new site happens to go live near you, which would be a happy coincidence.

I already have LTE where I live I was just saying that Sprint's LTE coverage map now shows Champaign under it now.

  7. The unlimited guarantee was always just marketing anyway. No carrier has forced people off unlimited, they have encouraged people to switch to new plans, placed restrictions on unlimited plan, but never forced people off. Sprint 's guarantee never said it wouldn't engage in the same kind of encouragement other carriers engaged in. I just do see Sprint being the only carrier to force people off unlimited.

Well Verizon and AT&T kind of made people switch off of unlimited data by making them force to pay 700 dollars or 200 dollars for a phone subsidy. This why we left Verizon because we weren't able to upgrade and keep our Unlimited. Now we are Customers of Sprint.

  8. There is a tower being built on route 9 going towards after Danvers going towards Mackinaw. Its a Mono-Pole. Any words on if it could be Sprint theres no equipment on it yet but there is a small slab that looks like Sprint or Tmobile. Also Sprint has limited coverage there and it would fill in the area where sprint bought U.S Cellular. ANy thoughts or Info.

  9. Also there are two separate deals going through at the same time.

    Net Alliance and CCA.

Net Alliance allows Smaller Carriers to use Sprint spectrum on the 800Mhz and 1900Mhz to Build 3G and 4G LTE. Every piece of Equipment must be up to Network Vision standards.

I think it includes free unlimited roaming for Sprint and other carriers that use it because it will be considered Native Networks. After anyone else reads the article do you get the same impressions?

  10. I took the articles as Sprint was going to allow Regional Carriers to roam on Sprint LTE 1900 and 800 in exchange for roaming on the networks as if it were Sprints Native Coverage. Anyone else take the articles like that? And also didn't sprint use to have that where they roamed on other networks and the phones recognized that network as Sprint?

Before I switched to Sprint from Verizon I was able to roam on U.S. Cellular ( Which Was All The Time) and it acted like it was native. And it was part of my UNLIMITED Data through Verizon.
