True. I'm sure brand loyalty plays into it as well. That's why i stuck with my Samsung.
-
That's if we bought not if they funded it.
Your average person isn't buying a nexus. Most people who buy them root them or are followers of the nexus brand. They don't need to come into the store to know that they want the device.
-
I know we pay for the demos at our store. We can sell them later after they are removed from being on display and we get dummy phones so buying one means we can sell it later and make our money back.
Think of how many sprint stores there are and how many demos that would be if Google covered demo cost for all of em. Its not like they're hurting for cash but to me it wouldn't make much sense to fund allllll of those phones.
-
Doubt it. Why would we pay for a demo of a device we can't even sell?I don't think so either but I still hope the Sprint stores will still get a demo device so that customers can play with it before deciding to buy it.

They must be waiting on two towers to adequately serve the Camp Randall area. #1, Hilldale tower, no equipment yet and #2, West Washington Ave. The one on Old University which is very close to the Camp is ready, as is the one on State St. Man there aren't many Madison towers left without equipment on them.

Glad to know I can trust my source on his info in that Madison will be nearing completion soon.
Told ya so!... Again...

That does appear to be NV equipment for sprint.
A tower can have multiple carriers on it. Different carriers will have different racks on the tower. Sprint will be one and either above or below it will be Att and so on and so forth. Pics of the tower itself would help us narrow it down even more as to what's possibly on it.

Nothing at our store. I haven't heard a single thing about it besides reading on here.We have any Sprint employees around that can let us know if they've received anything, ie marketing to display in store?
I remember the week before the iphone 5s was released some employees reported boxes of marketing from Apple they couldn't open until a certain date.
Any chance something like this happening?

The story I have heard for the tower is that is was supposed to get painted so they moved some antennas off of it. It is 4g compete as far as I know but I'm not sure if it is broadcasting.I was visiting Menard's today on 27th Street between College Ave and Rawson Ave. It appears every cellular carrier in Milwaukee is either on the huge water tower or stand-alone tower right next to it just off Menard's parking lot. While walking to the store, I did a close examination of all the cellular antennas and I could swear the top three antennas on the standalone tower are the Samsung NV setup. They are just below a red light at the top of the tower. Too bad I have to wait until early next year to get a 4G phone or I could have reported if 4G was actually active on this site.

I really doubt a few of us doing speed tests compared to the hundreds that are using their phone normally are making that drastic of a difference.
Will it effect it? Probably.
Will it change from 10 m down to 2 because of a speed test? Doubt it.

Have to agree with the way it feels in your hand.(insert comment from AJ here) I didn't think the small changes would make that much of a difference but it does. To be honest, after the first week or two with the 2 I barely used the S PEN. With the 3 I thing that will be different. Watching video after video on what you can do with it.
Only thing so far I do not like is the inclusion of Knox. I usually root my phones but from what I a reading once you root there is no way to reset the Knox counter and many of the devs are saying it might not be. If I had bought outright I wouldn't worry about it but I got the phone on one up so not sure how this will effect it when I go in next year to get the 4.

This might not be the same for the note 3 but with my s4 you can freeze the knox agent with titanium backup and when you're ready to go back to stock you can flash stock files and use triangle away to reset everything so no one will be none the wiser.

1900 Lte only. I think it's posted on the wall on what bands it will run.Rumor has it, the sprint note 3 won't have 800 compatibility. Anyone else hear that?
-
Let's hope it keeps progressing at this rate. (fingers crossed)

I'm not that type of guy... But I told ya.Alright, you win. Irish Lane tower has NV equipment on it in Fitchburg. Not broadcasting (that I can get)
I have no clue exactly which towers were tested all I know is the majority were drive tested for signal strength.

I don't have anything that is postable. Just the word of a Samsung employee who does testing of the 3g/4g after the work is complete. I have seen emails on the guys phone that has tower id #'s but it all showed green bay in the email he scrolled through.
That was last week and now green bay has some 4g showing up.
I'd say he's pretty reputable.

With Fitchburg being tested last week I wouldn't be surprised to see more work going on surrounding Madison that will work it's way in.

Those would probably be the 29 towers my source tested the other day.
He did say something about them being approved early this week....
-
so as far as Milwaukee goes, this would cover the western and southern suburbs..very small portion of the actual city itself.
thank you for the clarification...I can close my mapquest page now...
Correct. The way he explained it to me was the outskirts need to be done so that way when we shut off the inside of the city the network will still be usable. If the process was done the other way around the network would be nonexistent. Which makes perfect sense and I'm sure it's been discussed before.

The area he pointed out to me when I brought up the sponsor maps was the area east of 90/39, south of 94 and west of 94/41.

Yeah. Sorry. He said 43 and I don't get out that way much so I'm not too familiar with it. 94 is correct.

For lack of a better description I'll call him a drive tester for Samsung and the NV rollout...
He has frequented the store recently and has shared some info on towers being tested.
According to his word 29 towers from Fitchburg heading eastward south of 43 have all been tested as of yesterday and will go live shortly. This is 800 and 1900 lte.
He also showed me an email from his lead stating the test cars would be getting equipment to test 800 lte in the next few weeks.

Source? (not trying to be a jerk, but we've heard that Oct date thrown around here before....I hope you have inside information and it sounds like you might? Care to prove that to us with evidence? )

Info from our account rep sent to us at work. I work alongside him and can confirm seeing this info as well.

That it does. Those would be nv panels and rru. Take some more pictures of the site and post it to the in progress thread so it can be marked on the map.

It's for sure coming to sprint. We received something about it in our weekly news at work. There's not a date yet but Verizon has it listed as being released on 10/10 so I'd hope we're somewhere around there.

I live in Racine by the Kolhs Department store, and I have had 1x800 for about three weeks now. My signal strength is great on the 1x800, around -80ish, but my LTE when it connects at my house is -120ish. The 1x800 seems to be on most of the towers in Racine.
That's awesome. I called it a couple weeks out but had no idea we would see 800 that quickly.
I wonder if Kenosha is turned on as well. They've had their upgrades for awhile now.
