  1. AirUnity 544 Magic Box

No longer responds to my finger. The display is on and displays the time but if I tap the screen it goes to the 3 boxes and from that point it totally ignores any finger taps. Up to this point it was working albeit poorly due to being in a poor signal area.

I unplugged/reboooted twice but to no avail.

Is there anything else I can try to revive the screen touchability?

    Else I'll call MB support.

    Thanks,

    J

    Talk about a massive disadvantage.

The more I think about it with either restriction, namely only one CDMA per phone or both carriers must be the same on a locked phone, you won't be able to have two Sprint or two Verizon lines regardless of the phone's locked status.

Thinking out loud will VOLTE help in this situation? eg. If/when Sprint supports VOLTE will the the CDMA rules become mute?

  3. Amazing how my MB will use ANY B41 signal over a B25. I’m in a very marginal B41 area CINR as low as -120 perhaps lower. Once it latched on to a -100 B25 signal but only for a short time when it switched back to the much poorer B41 signal.

I got my MB in January and noticed the B41 signal getting progressively worse beginning in March. My guess is the foliage is blocking the signal. Hopefully it can still find a useable signal when the trees are full.

  4. Physical Cell ID affinity.

I've mapped the PCI's for macro cells in my area and my MB connects to the closest one after a reboot or reset. This seems logical.

For some unknown (to me at least) reason last week when I checked the MB and it was connected to different donor which is almost 50% further that the one it had been connected to.

I figured the donor was down or maintenance was being performed except my cell phones still connected to the closer one when outside of the range of the MB. The performance of the MB was abysmal while connected to the further donor. I waited several days to see when it would switch back but it didn't. I eventually manually restarted the MB (not reset) and it reconnected to the closer donor cell.

I wonder why it would not switch back by itself. It's as if the donor cell needs to be down before the MB will look for a better one.

    This doesn't make sense.

    Any explanations?

  5. If I've been disconnected from the MB with my iPhone or iPad for a while (hours)
and I reconnect and run a single SpeedTest I initially see speeds in the range of 4down/3up.

If i then immediately run a second and subsequent SpeedTest I consistently see
    speeds in the 15-30down/5up range.

If I then disconnect for a period of time and reconnect the pattern repeats.
I think the MB is typically not heavily loaded as I rarely see more than one connection
    which is me.

It's as if the MB is maintaining a minimal connection to the host cell when idle and
then adds capacity if the load increases.

    Does this make sense?

  6. I've had a MB for about a month now.
On two occasions that I've noticed the MB has a SERVICE connection but
    the LTE is disconnected.

Eventually the LTE becomes connected again but what sort of thing(s) would
cause LTE to drop if SERVICE is connected with typical signal levels and quality.

I haven't restarted the MB for over a week.

    Any more updates?  ..,

Was hoping they would push another update soon that fixed it.  Surely sprint has the ability to see slow speed sites?

    Nothing has changed here.

    What is a bit weird is occasionally I’ll see 30 mb/s but 99% of the time it’s 5ish mb/s.

  8. The ID has never been other than 105.

The Frequency has changed depending on the direction the MB is oriented.

The Frequency has not changed since I last reset the MB.

I'd let it sit in the same place you had it originally and let itself optimize over the next day or so.  Do you know if it's getting its back-haul from the same cell site (has the ID changed)?

What kind of CINR levels are you getting after the firmware update?  My MB had the same update and it took it a day or two to get itself optimized and back into the swing of things.

    RSRP 111->114 CINR 1.0->5.0

Here is a snapshot of what they are at the moment.
Prior to 440a the values were similar. It's the speeds that have degraded.
It's been 2 days since the last reset.

  10. When I first got my MB the 3rd week of February I was seeing download speeds int the 10->30mb/s range which was very good.
My signal isn't stellar (RSRP 111->114 CINR 1.0->5.0) but it was stable.
After the firmware upgrade to 15.15.50.440a my signal levels remained the same but my download speeds dropped dramatically.
Now they are in the 2->5mb/s range which is rather poor considering this is what I get on B25 indoors without the MB.

Question: Is this drop in speed at all related the the firmware upgrade? The timing leads me to believe it is.

I even took the MB outdoors and performed tests at 8 cardinal points on the compass (with a reset each time) and the signal strength/quality improved but the download speeds did not.

    Any insight appreciated.
