  1. (sorry, had trouble quoting) I should clarify, I didn't actually go through the process rather this is just what a rep from Verizon told me I could follow in order to port my iPhone 4s over to their network. She said the most troublesome part would be to get the home network to clear the MEID, but if I could get that done then she would be able to input the MEID over to their database. She very easily could have been blowing smoke to tell me what I want to hear, but in Nahum365's situation it would be worth a try as opposed to sitting on a $250 paper weight.
  2. If you have the time you can all Verizon, find your way to a customer service manager and explain the situation. Verizon will have to clear the MEID from their database which would then allow Sprint to activate it on their network. I've never actually gone through the process but was looking at doing the opposite (switching from Sprint to Verizon) before I found this site. Obviously this only works for CDMA carriers but its worth a try if you've got the time & effort.
  3. I've tried to unlock my 4s to no avail - both on the Apple side (Apple care rep and genius bar tech) as well as multiple Sprint customer service reps. I bought my phone outright so i've been out of contract since i've owned it (long story why i had to do that - I'll save it for another time). Apple just points directly back at the carrier and the handful of the Sprint reps I spoke to had no idea what I was even talking about claiming that Sprint uses "CDMA" technology and the phone won't work on a GSM carrier....the few that at least knew what I was talking about forwarded me to the international dept and they have unlocked it for international usage. I have Mexican & Canadian Sim cards that when I plug in here domestically the phone picks up both AT&T & TMobile signals, but I'm then paying international roaming rates with thoses respective carriers. I have an actual AT&T sim that I've tried, but i just get the message that I need to contact my carrier to activate the phone. It's not a big deal to me now so I haven't persued the issue further than the customer service level, but once I want to sell my phone it'll definitely be a much higher priority.
  4. There really aren't words that can express the emotions felt due to this tragedy - absolutely unthinkable. Hug your family and say a prayer for all of those that were affected.

    Airave

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've had trouble restricting access to my Airave. I've gone to the site mentioned above (my preferences / manage my Airave) but when I select "restrict Access", put my number in while excluding my wife's, her phone still connects. It's not the end of the world as I live in a neighborhood with a decent spread between homes, but I'd still prefer the piece of mind knowing access is restricted to my Airave (and more importantly my bandwidth). Again, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but has anybody else had this issue? I've found similar experiences when I googled it, but I trust members of this site far more than a simple google search.
  6. Yes, I realize you all are unpaid - but all the more reason that you deserve an increased donation. Thanks again for all your work, it's truly appreciated.
  7. I completely agree, I visit this site multiple times per day, mainly for that slIght glimmer of hope that I could hear the good news that NV is coming to my area ahead of schedule. But I want to recognize what a great job that Robert and the other major contributors / moderators do. Not only is there just a wealth of intellectual knowledge on all sorts of topics, but the classic "mine is bigger than yours" threads are non-existent so I don't have to waste time scrolling through pages of back and forth debates just to find the info that I'm really looking for. I've been a Sprint customer since 1998 and I was seriously considering making the leap earlier this year until I found this site. I've already donated but I definitely need to give more because Robert and the team just simply deserve it.
  8. Sorry for the double submission...I'm still only like a "smoke signal" contributor, so apparently this posting thing isn't as natural for me as others...
  9. Can anybody confirm whether or not the iPhone 4s will be capable of picking up the ESMR Bc 10? I've spoken to at least 3 different "high-level" sprint representatives that have all told me that it will be able to receive the signal, but I've searched high and low on Google only to find speculative but conflicting reports. I have terrible in building reception both at home and two different offices that I frequent and I'm desperately awaiting the improvements NV will reportedly bring, speciifically the reprovisioning of the iden band to CDMA, but if the iPhone is unable to pick it up my hopes and dreams will all be dashed.....
