  1. Sorry dude. I keep stumbling across people checking out towers. That's why I was half laughing.
  2. Oh I know what I was gonna post. On the way back from lunch, saw a truck at the Edgehill site. It's hard to get to it because Third Ave and Edgehill has been under a constant form of construction for a year. It kinda looked like it had base cabinets but at 500 feet I wasn't gonna stake my impeccable reputation on it. So I will visit the Burger King there more frequently and report back with any more positive activity.
  3. You know, if their cells would work better, closer to the site than farther away, I think things could work so much better! I remember when a company I worked for used 800 SMR carrier, their transmitter was downtown Columbus and we could talk on the single site about 45-60 miles away. Granted that was with 45 watt mobiles, half that distance with 3 watt handhelds. Before the Nextel revolution.
  4. Marcy Road is not very new. It came alive with the cluster in the Pickerington, Canal Winchester area. Its actually near the Ashbrook bridge off Lithopolis Road west of Lancaster. That's a haul. That one pops up every once in awhile in odd places like along 310 just north of Pataskala. If you get it again, click the map link and see what coordinates show up on the map. It could be a geocoding error. It could also be a error with sprint.
  5. The forum, its a living breathing seductive animal. She draws you in to where you become so absorbed that no other entertainment matters.
  6. Oooook getting around to this. My airave is on SID 4418 NID 501. In the system records of your PRL 501, entry 509 references ACQ index 14. I look at ACQ index 14 and see the channels scanned. My airave is parked on channel 1150 which is not scanned in ACQ index 14 but a couple other indexes. I added 1150 to index 14. Because I want to prefer 800 over PCS when I'm out of range of my airave, I programmed my airave into system record 494, cloned the info from entry 509 and assigned it as new, then record 495 as same. In my head, my phone will prefer the airave, then 800, then PCS. Now that channel 1150 is in my ACQ index, it should connect to it easier than it has been. Yes? Screen shots.
  7. The cell at Sullivant & Green Street near 315/Mount Carmel has RRH's. I saw base cabinets a couple weeks ago. I'll swing by tomorrow morning when it's safe to snoop and take a few pics.
  8. With the lack of acceptance reports, Ohio has turned their focus instead towards the pigskin or other outdoor activities. Hard to believe not a single post in almost 24 hours.
  9. Got to experience the Motorla/Samsung handoff problem tonight. I could make outgoing calls, but as soon as the call was answered, drop! Text messages were so delayed I waited 20 minutes in some cases. Actually once in full Samsung coverage calls would work but it took getting on my airave to get some messages that never came through. Sad, sad, sad.
  10. I had it that way. This just started today. Dropped back to factory PRL and the phone would still prefer 800. Then when it would connect, it wouldn't send texts. My other Sprint phones did. So I'm trying the return to factory option to trigger the handsfree activation. We'll see. My airave SID is the same as the local cells, 4418. I just went to the first PRL entry for my area and added the NID scan of 501 before the 800 scan and set the higher priority. It's been working fine til tonight. Pesky phone, if CM10 had diag mode and eng screen functions, I'd be using that ROM
  11. I think I spoiled my phone. It now prefers the 800 over my airave even with the stock PRL (25015). Even over my modified 800 priority PRL that makes my airave higher priority than 800 or 1900. Hmmm. I wonder if I have neighbors on it and I'm being bumped off?
  12. Wish they'd take their freaking trash with them. Two huge bags of garbage sitting outside the fence over there. There was a box there today that wasn't there earlier. But still, you could at least be a good scout and pick up after yo lazy but!
  13. Someone posted about the cloverleaf for 70/256. It kinda looks like NV antennas on it. They're so high though. Who hasa SLR/DSLR that can get some pics? Anyone daring enough to get up in the vicinity of the site for some pics? https://www.dropbox.com/sc/tkv7chz7svdsyno/SYAotKMleP
  14. Drove past there today. Not sure what the deal is with the pics, when I laid eyes on the tower and cabinets I knew 100% this was NV work in progress. Good find.
  15. Luck of the draw. The stock PRL makes both 800 and legacy the same priority. Likely you were picking up 800 and nit 19. When your phone restarted. youre likely to stay on 800 until you get out of range of it and the phone scans PCS. Cyanogenmod uses whatever PRL that was loaded.
  16. Those went for sale and gone yesterday. So sad. I had NV EVDO from the cell next to the farm. I noticed it was a GMO. 800 blooped once but I couldn't get it long enough to see where it was. I went south on 310 and coming to patalaska I connected to the Marcy Rd tower. Really surprised at that considering the hills between me and it. I had hoped to maybe snag a granville cell.
  17. I drove up to Lynd's fruit farm today, the back way. Did a lot of signal mapping. I will post it later when I can massage the data. I need an app to convert kml to csv or xlsx so I can average some data. Any ideas?
  18. There's a lot of factors. Are you using a stock prl? Then you were either connected to legacy 3g or updated 3g. Are you using an 800 priority prl? You could have been connected to any 800 tower in range and from groveport its a potluck. On a stock Pelco you could have been on 800 but if you travel in and out of the 800 coverage at all, probably unlikely. On the legacy sites you can achieve over 2 mbps speedtests if you happen to do one while the EVDO side isn't busy or bogged down. . I went thru while you all played soccer to pickup my son from work down by Mott's. I actually picked up LTE a couple times, I think from Grove City, panel 217. One note about SCP app, whatever it shows in the top section is your voice connection, second section is your data connection. It only shows the site address for the voice side. While you can connect to 800 voice, some times your data is still legacy EVDO. If the data connection is to eHRPD while voice is 800, then the data is legacy. Some 800 sites also get EVDO turned on 800 and when you connect to both voice and EVDO on 800 the app will say only connected to 800. There's an option in the settings to show both sets in the status bar. In the status bar it will show 1x800 1x800 when this occurs. Otherwise its guesswork and Eng screens to figure out what site you're getting EVDO from when on 800 voice. I think that makes sense.
  19. Gave the wife a break and did some tower snooping. The tower on Americana Pkwy south of Blacklick Park has base cabinets and has fiber work underway. I didn't get up to the Livingston/256 tower because the kids were being obnoxious about eating dinner. I visually went to see the Pick Rd/Refugee Rd tower which looks like it got TWC instead of AT&T. Also saw the Longview Street site. That site is screaming hot. I wish I had mapped the signal. It was -55 dBm from the water tower south to near the south HS where it dipped to -87 in that little valley. Coming up around Basil Rd and onward toward Meijer it was -67 until I hopped over to another site. Here's to hoping the little Sprint fairies will do some work overnight.
  20. Also on the Basil western road site there be tower monkeys again. I was thinking they were taking down the legacy equipment until I saw them with the NV cabinet open. Now I'm thinking either they're tuning or maybe turning on LTE.
  21. Heads up grove city. 2467 Jackson Pike is transmitting 800 finally. Thinking along the cluster turn on factor, I bet there's more.
  22. I see the NV antennas, the two RRH's. It's still blurry but I can see that. Those cabinets though, looks like legacy, one is sideways. Why are you not on vacation? Because it's in your blood! You tried disconnecting but you just can't do it, like cutting off a limb. As for Pickerington 800, yes, depending on where you are you can hit both of those. Because the Longview site is on a water tower on a hill it has the better penetration than the one at Refugee/Pick. Rd. Longview would also then have a better S/N ratio being above all those trees. The south Brice cell is tricky to connect to, almost has to be intentional because again the Longview site just romps over everything else. Sitting in Skyline in Canal Winchester I would bounce between Cedar Hill and Longview and never connect to Brice.
  23. Looks to me like WIP. The antenna pics look fuzzy when zoomed in but when zoomed out appears like the dreadlocks monster mess.
