Of course sprint gonna advertise they new lte phones but they will also have WIMAX capabilities too
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Not to be a jerk, but where are you getting these ideas? Sprint has said in numerous instances that they will no longer promote 4G WiMax and are moving to 4G LTE. They have said that future PHONES will support 4G LTE.

Overview
sounds interesting.. but the link is not working for me. (i think thats supposed to be a link, anyway.)
EDIT: this post can be deleted.. the OP has been changed/updated.

No Google Play access is a gigantic deal breaker for any Android device imho.
I agree.. I wonder if they are concerned that once it gets loaded down with app's the performance will be so degraded nobody will like it anymore.. even at that price.
I'm hoping that the rumored specs and price on the Nexus tab are true... would be a steal.

Beautiful shots, man. Love that drum! Thanks for sharing!

I own the nexus
lol Yes, Scott, we're all well aware.

that's what I'm doing, but I need a phone to tide me over till then. My evo is super slow now, always loading, the htc screen come up when shutting down apps, and I always need to be near a charger. I can get a photon used for $200 and sprint will buy back the evo for $90.
Have you tried a Factory Data Reset? Just a thought/suggestion... sometimes something simple can make the device feel like new again. At least for a while.

This is not directly related to Sprint, but I thought it was a great Add... a Virgin Mobile add. Its pretty widespread now. Sprints pre-paid division has a great commercial here.

I'm working on some revision to the way I embed those maps. I will likely post it tonight.
Robert
Thats awesome! Thanks. I look forward to these. Just a suggestion, but maybe color code the towers... one color could indicate towers that are NV complete, and another tower indicate the "other" towers.
-
We are defiantly almost there...hopefully NV brings even better speeds...
Looking good! However, this is nothing compared to what NV should bring!

A US map could be done with the markets in color for the order they are going. We could do annotations or a map key for the text.
Wouldn't be that hard to do.
The Map Master has spoken.

I might just pay full price for my 4S instead of replacing my MacBook Pro right now. Then I would still have my upgrade in December, so it would still be win-win for me.
That sounds like the route to go to me, good idea.
-
Probably wont happen, but it would be sweet if this upcoming HTC (EVO successor) had a kickstand.. I really liked the kickstand on my EVO.. the one on the Photon was even better.
-
Yes they are. Guess I can have an iPhone and WiMax together now, lol.
If you do go down the iPhone road.. Id just wait for the next one, Josh. Hopefully it will at least have a bigger screen.
Either way... I agree, this thing is pretty cool.

This is pretty interesting stuff. However, the map in Phoenix is still showing all kinds of upgrades scheduled.

Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD$2.93
Arizona State-911 Surcharge$0.60
Arizona State-Tele Sales Surcharge$5.15
Maricopa County-Tele Sales Surcharge$0.53
Phoenix City-Tele Sales Surcharge$3.65
Administrative Charge$4.50
Regulatory Charge$1.20
--------------
$18.56
Arizona State-Other taxes/fees$0.03
--------------
$0.03
This is for 3 lines.. so, about 6 bucks and change per line.
Total bill for all 3 lines with taxes/fees and insurance is $181.

are you sure you're roaming on GSM?? I would bet, assuming you haven't done anything funky with your new phone, you are roaming on CDMA... in which case.. you have nothing to worry about (if its not too excessive).

The maps that you have up for all of sprints markets, are all of these markets eventually going to get the NV upgrade.
As far as I know, Sprint plans on upgrading the entire network with NV, nationwide.

-
Eric...all the markets are in the Gallery now. Digi has created all 97 market maps. I uploaded them yesterday. The Panhandle is not coming soon.
Robert
I was just looking through them.. Great addition... Thank you and Digi!

humm.. maybe its a leak?

The speed in my area is pretty good, but the signal strength leaves something to be desired. At work I can pull down 1.6Mb/s and .8Mb/s up, but where I live which is into the rural area, I get 3 bars max and usually 1 indoors... needless to say its not too fast usually in the .15Mb/s down range.
Personally I cannot wait until they release CDMA 1X Advanced and LTE on the 800Mhz spectrum, because until they do... its gonna suck for me at home.
Im looking forward to the great improvements that the 800mhz frequency will bring too. Although, keep in mind, with the new tower setup/design Sprint is rolling out with Network Vision... the current signal/coverage will see a nice little boost right away.. even the 1900mhz. So I like to think that will tie me over till LTE on 800 gets here, down the road.

I think I'm giving up on GSIII rumors at this point.. its almost gotten to point of iPhone rumors. I'm just gonna close my eyes and wait for it to hit.
-
I can't believe they keep people on those plans... I've always been forced to upgrade plans when I upgraded phones. It's not like they are making much off those plans.
I'd kill for one of those plans.. I wonder how much longer they'll last.

Good question.. I have often wondered this myself. In my recent (non-scientific) test.. the current towers can reach well over 7 miles.. up to about 10-12 miles in my experience.
And yes.. I also understand that the new equipment being placed on all the towers in the Network Vision upgrade will improve signal strength/distance/penetration approximately 20%.
