  1. I know this doesnt answer your "HD Voice" question, but this is the fine print Re "HD Voice" from the Sprint website: ."HD Voice requires a call between two HD Voice capable handsets on an HD Voice capable Sprint network. Sprint expects to deploy HD Voice capable networks in the future as part of its Network Vision upgrades."

Whatever it is, Im looking forward to it, the two reviews I've seen of it (Phandroid and Engadget) say it works quite well.

Edit: So, my question is: how were they demoing this if it requires Network Vision to operate? COW? Was NV live at the event? Humm?

  2. Shame, shame. Since you sinners are lusting and coveting this device (bonus points for telling which is one of the 7 deadly sins) here's a comparison for the devices and your souls you would all willingly give up for this.

iPhone has a 4.5 in screen? Also, I think the battery on the new EVO is 2000mAh

Edit: wow.. they added a bigger battery on the EVO 4G LTE and still managed to keep it thinner then the E4GT! Now that's impressive.

  3. From an investors/financial standpoint... I'll bet its gonna be a rocky road for Sprint in the first 2 quarters of 2012. I don't think that financials will start improving much till Q3 or Q4, maybe even Q1 13.. after they get some rebound from Network Vision upgrades.

  4. This is very sexy, htc and sprint did one hell of a job on this. Design wise, this has so much more life than the One X, it may be too much for some but its just right for me. But what impresses me the most is the fact that they managed to through in a kickstand, micro sd support, larger battery while still keeping the same thinness as the One X.

    +1

(since I've "reached my quota of positive votes for the day")

  5. HTC EVO 4G LTE has arrived:

To quell some of the rumors, here are the facts:

    • aluminum/plastic body
    • kickstand
    • non-removable 2000 mAh battery
    • S-LCD 720p screen
    • 32 GB microSD card support
    • dedicated camera shutter release
    • $199 on-contract price point

    AJ

I like it! The added features are definitely a plus. Even if one is not a fan of the "looks" (which I think are totally fine), You must give credit where credit is due:

Sprint seems to have listened to their customers and provided a dedicated camera button, bigger battery, sd card slot, and kickstand. Props to Sprint for that!

This will more then likely be my next device.

  6. Yes it would. Plus it would be a good addition to Virgin's smartphone lineup. And I can also see this as a way for Sprint to satisfy contract requirements for purchase amounts with HTC.

I agree! Sprint could keep selling the same phone even after they EOL it, while Virgin Mobile customers get a nice dual core, qHD, etc. phone to add to their line up. Win-Win situation. I just wonder if VM customers will have to pay an extra 10 bucks a month to get access to Clear's network. I guess at VM's prices, an extra 10 bucks is still a pretty good deal if you get unlimited 4G (assuming you're in a WiMax area).

  7. Rumor has it that the EVO 3D will soon migrate from Sprint over to Sprint's pre-paid division, Virgin Mobile. This will be a pretty nice offering for a prepaid carrier, especially since its getting Android 4.0/ICS "soon." Additionally, If it brings unlimited 4G (WiMax) data along with it.. It would be a steal for those with solid 4G WiMax coverage. I think some people are going to have a great option available if this holds true.

  8. Sprint has said that all LTE phones, except possibly low end models, will have NFC, so don't worry about that aspect.

Agreed, Scott. And, based on the upcoming release of the LG Optimus Elite, I believe Sprint has now made that evident. The Optimus Elite is an entry level Android phone... equipped with NFC.

  9. I heard there would be a LTE version of the GS2. It would be a decent mid range phone. The development costs are paid and parts have gone down in price. Wouldn't be that dumb IMO

I agree, Scott.. It would be similar to what ATT did with the SGSII SkyRocket ... I could see Sprint doing the same thing. And I dont think that would be a letdown at all.. its a great device!!
