So my downtown tower is back to B26. Bring back B41!!!!!
-
Whoops! It's one of the three b41 towers. The one closest to the library. I'm not sure if it's accepted yet or just testing. Speeds were better today about 4 to 5 mb down. And I think they are probably working on the other two towers. Texts are having issues.

So speeds are crazy slow again on our b41 tower. Is this testing related maybe or should I put in a ticket?

Hello!
Sprint is online this year at the Fair!
I was there last night and service felt rougher than last year. Texts wouldn't send and data was out. I'm wondering if it was connected yet or just overcrowded b/c it was the 1st day. Either was I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with the work going on to convert to B41.
-
I'm getting between 20-25 mb down in the downtown area by the library...this has never ever been close. I'm using an iPhone 6. Speeds dropped for a while in the afternoon to around 3-4 mb so they might be testing or maybe congestion? Either way...WAY better than the last 7 yrs!

I wouldn't go that far. The south side still has some coverage issues. And I only have an iPhone 5/Moto X combo so I'm not seeing b26. Sometimes data is still really bad but I've just given up.*crickets* i'm guessing from the lack of posts in here it means that everyone is happy with the service and data speeds are amazing everywhere around des moines now
Still....I enjoy the posts and the community here!

Speeds are great downtown today after being terrible yesterday. Today's speedtest was .82ms ping and 5.53 down.
-
I'm hoping that when sprint starts throttling data in June some of this will go away.
-
When our LTE speeds are slow, like now I'm getting .64 dl and .84 upload, is it better to switch to 3g?

DES MOINES IS LAUNCHED! I SAY, DES MOINES IS LAUNCHED!!!!!!

I have a question. I'm not sure if it needs to be in the sponsor section or not. I didn't think my moto X had band 26, only band 25. I took a ##DEBUG# and under LTE it says the band is 26.
1) isn't band 26 the better/more useful one to have?
2) could it be a fluke that my phone say it's b26?
3) my BID is one of those in question on the sponsor map. does this help at all?

Also, I could live with not much bdw 500 kbs would be more than perfect, even 200 kbs. I'm in a spot that's between 2 towers and i bounce like a ping pong. I can walk around my floor and alternate between 3g/LTE.
-
Actually I agree with that. I have stuck it out this long. I have read on the BAW site about des moines that indicates that completion in DSM is scheduled for 90 days. I think my real frustration is that I work in the business of providing bdw for cell towers but since Sprint isn't going with my company I'm out of the loop. I'm not used to that.
Robert,
Could I also ask u a question? The 37 meg bdw limit is that b/c of the tech Sprint uses? I know the other providers have access to 100 mb pipes at cell sites but I'm wondering if that's b/c it's GSM.

If you need more right now you should go. Instead of threatening Sprint around the internet.

Wow.....really? So having no service in a downtown area is MY problem? I know you get tired of people complaining on your site but c'mon it's been almost a year and a half.

.
I was actually surprised at how quick we got it at two downtown sites to be honest. One of them that was one of the last to get NV and then fairly quickly had LTE light up.
So it's another month....and I was expecting LTE since last year at the State Fair...still surprised?
I'm surprised that there are so many LTE sites in town that have 1.5 download speeds if that. Sprint is gonna really have to come thru and beef up the bandwidth if they want us to stay.
-
My downtown tower is severly overloaded again and there is no data whatsoever. I'm using an iphone 5 but i also have a moto x. Would it be better to switch to the moto x? i think it has band 25, whereas the iphone 5 does not.
-
Yes waiting on Mediacom to get the back haul run downtown is getting pretty old. I can't imagine it is that difficult to get access. They have the bandwidth available. So its just not getting scheduled/done.

Is that why some towers are broadcasting LTE but are still crazy slow?

they are planning on a 3 year rollout. where we fall in the time frame no one knows yet.
I'm feeling a Sprint joke coming on.....
-
I haven't had any data drops on the moto x since I changed the settings to CDMA only.

My issues at home stemmed from our connecting to an airave in the neighborhood instead of our cell tower. Might check into that.

Hey I've been having trouble on my moto x with complete random signal drop when it's set to 3/4g and the phone switches between evdo and erhpd. I called sprint last night and they said I should be keeping my phone in 3g only mode until the LTE rollout is complete. Is this a sprint issue or do I need my phone looked at? Prl and profile are current.

when a tower is first accepted there are sometimes issues with data on it for a day or two. also being that one covers downtown and its the only one right now its probably serving a ton more people than it will once the other towers around it come online.
It's still zero data here downtown on LTE. Maybe there are some other issues. Signal check pro says it's on Falcon Drive.

I'm bouncing between B26 and B41 here downtown. Guess that's how it is.
