  1. More shoddy -- or should I say "ugly" -- journalism... http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/03/sprint-magic-box-announced-to-help-sprint-expand-network.html AJ
  2. That is flawed thinking. What if without HPUE, your data experience would be diminishing, as it is across many operators? If HPUE were helping you maintain the status quo, for example, that would be relative improvement. AJ
  3. You are not supposed to measure HPUE. That is not the point. Less than one percent of users have SignalCheck Pro installed or have any other idea what band their handset is using at the time. HPUE is supposed to improve transparently their overall data experience. AJ
  4. Sorry to be harsh, people, but how many times do staff need to say this?! HPUE affects uplink TxP, not downlink reception nor idle mode band selection. Your HPUE handset will not necessarily camp on band 41 more often. You cannot judge HPUE that way. AJ
  5. Check off angle viewing on the Samsung sets. A lot may have changed since I seriously shopped LCD several years ago, but Samsung used mostly PVA panels, while LG used mostly IPS panels. In a hotel environment, I would think that off angle viewing would be more important than contrast. AJ
  6. FYI, price wise, this is arguably the worst time of the year to be shopping for a current model year TV. CES 2017 TVs just now are hitting the floor -- at MSRP. AJ
  7. I am just mute. I would rather chew on broken glass than make a phone call on a cellphone. So, SVLTE for me always is a mute point. A moot point, too. AJ
  8. Not 120 Hz refresh rate displays, but motion interpolation features activated on 120 Hz refresh rate displays "destroy" 24 fps footage. AJ
  9. Pixel shifting to minimize image retention is nothing new. And it should not be a function of the panel itself -- but rather the electronics and processing that drive the panel. So, I would not jump to any conclusions about panel provenance based on pixel shifting. In LG OLED TVs, the electronics, processing, and panels are LG. In the one Sony OLED TV, the electronics and processing are Sony, only the panel is LG. AJ
  10. Sony XBR OLED calibration. Mixed results. http://www.avsforum.com/sony-xbr-65a1e-uhd-hdr-oled-tv-review/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=AVSForum.com_daily&utm_source=AVSForum.com20170428 AJ
  11. The Sony OLED quite possibly is using a 2016 LG OLED panel. Both competition and development cycle oft dictate such when incorporating the panel from an outside supplier that also is a competitor. AJ
  12. If you are relying upon SignalCheck Pro to display band switching, with certain combinations of handsets, bands, and GCIs, SignalCheck Pro no longer is fully accurate at identifying bands. Confirm with engineering screens or other apps. AJ
  13. No, such is supposition. Please do not state it as fact. That is how unsubstantiated rumors get started. AJ
  14. Folks, this thread is for discussion of T-Mobile, not TV-Mobile. AJ
  15. Pixel living up to its name... https://research.googleblog.com/2017/04/experimental-nighttime-photography-with.html?m=1 AJ
  16. You have a Samsung Galaxy S8, and your roommate got one, too. Do I sense a "Single White Female" vibe? AJ
  17. If you got cut, Team Magenta always is looking for pom pom carrying cheerleaders. AJ
  18. Well, does it? Or does it not? Does SignalCheck Pro ever show SRLTE simultaneous CDMA1X and LTE? AJ
  19. Senior LTE. If you are not on SRLTE, you probably are on JVLTE. AJ
  20. Galaxy Note 5 is old enough that it does not do SRLTE? AJ
