  1. Happy belated (well, by 2 hours here anyway) birthday. Many happy returns, you've certainly earned it!
  2. That's good to know. I PM'ed the original poster, since I didn't know if discussing or recommending other options would be frowned upon in the forum.
  3. I just activated my new galaxy victory on Ting, and it picked up PRL 24013. From digiblur's "Every Sprint PRL" post on xda, 24xxx is a "business acct" PRL. Would this be the normal Sprint 24013 PRL, or would they have a modified version?
  4. Just wondering what versions of QPST people may be having success with. I was running build 366 without issue for tinkering with my Optimus S, but I've had no luck getting it to recognize my new Galaxy Victory. Poking around xda-dev and elsewhere, I'm thinking that 366 is just too old (looks like 2010). I tracked down builds 374 and 378, but neither would install cleanly (errors registering DLLs). Even tried reverting back to an older snapshot of my "phone hacking VM" as it ran a bunch of updates last night, but no luck. So what versions are you guys using successfully?
  5. To a degree, but thats like saying why should any company operate both wholesale and retail divisions? I would say that MVNOs allow them to indirectly expand their business into market segments where they may not have much of a presence otherwise. As an example, when my contract with AT&T expired, I found a (Sprint) MVNO that had a service model that better matched my needs. Would Sprint itself have gotten my business? Based on my experiences with them and a corporate proved phone years ago, probably not.
  6. It's just this leveling game among the big carriers that gives the MVNOs the space in which to operate. While people may not be beating down their doors, this "conformity at the top" encourages more varied service offerings and flexibility among the MVNOs and smaller operators. There are some interesting options out there if you're willing to bypass the big four.
