  1. FWIW -- my take is still that SoftBank assumed it was going to get everything it asked for.... - buy sprint - buy clearwire - buy TMO I'm still taken back that SB assumed --- hey yeah the American's will let us come in and buy three (2 national and one semi-national/local) networks in less than 24 months??? With that I believe SB wanted (will) invest gobs of cash to be in the top 2, BUT didn't count on also battling for the number three spot at the same time! Which is in my opinion diverting much needed cash for becoming No 1 or 2. THAT all said -- SB might see this as a harder fight and may want to slow its roll on Sprint at the moment. Especially if Crazy Uncle Charlie buys TMO. okay have fun with that post now :-) john
  2. except Sprint can't seem to make that 2.5GHz spectrum work outside of a city.... or rather in un-even terrain.
  3. And if it was on the schedule to be apart of Un-Carrier Event (lost track at which number) - it has been removed!
  4. So I'm "confused" Is it $80 then $20 credit or is the $80 including the credit? $60 would be a great deal. $80 umm not great not bad.
  5. opening a bunch of stores under Sprint <new name/logo what have you> and “finishing” network vision — would be a great time to shake things up a bit. I see it as a great move
  6. So AT&T now claims the strongest LTE Signal Which is cool and all -- but what about backhaul or density of spectrum in any one area, no? http://www.androidheadlines.com/2015/03/att-uses-full-court-press-push-strongest-4g-lte-signal.html
  7. this can can sound how ever anyone wants to read it -- but this is another example of Sprint being the "we are working on it, for next quarter..." mentality always seems to be a good valid reason of pushing or delaying or miss communication to customers. do other carriers do it - sure they do but typically at small scale and they test enough prior to a live date. both of mine are now unlocked -- after almost 10 days. Of which should have been completed in minutes
  8. i'm sure they will fix it when they have time....
  9. from my past week of talking with some knowledgeable reps (and some very much not trained) okay back on track, the rep can unlock it for domestic use. BUT as others stated it wont stick... the system once refreshed will show locked....
  10. then it is valid. the problem with these "foolish" bold ads typically is that they don't last long after being printed. But kudos to Sprint for having this in the first place. Same with ATT saying the Fastest then TMO can beat it, followed by Red saying the Strongest ( or do I have that backwards)
  11. i did - but thats me... I don't think you should have to. once you go through the Apple activation servers - your device should be free and clear.
  12. one of my phones seems to be unlocked.... i have an inactive att sim, and my phone just says no service. no more error page showing locked device.... I hope that's good news lol
  13. correct once Sprint communicates to Apple - the Activation Servers have the unlock instantly. The hard part is getting Sprint to their side of the puzzle. I just wish Sprint trained their people better and had proper timing of events...
  14. sorry… my assumptions are: — Apple was upset that Sprint didn’t sell enough iPhone (going a year or more) And when Tim met with Marcelo, he sold Tim on the upgrades going to happen with Sprint’s network. And Tim wanted a means to offer iPhones for less money with out producing a CHEAP iPhone. As they say win-win. — Marcelo is more focused on iPhones for the approve reasons; and it will give extra long term revenues to both Sprint and Brightstar. Since typically iPhones hold value longer. most of this has been chatted about here as well. again just my 2cents.
  15. hey $5 is five dollars! I mean honestly its a great deal - zero out of pocket - $65+taxes and it includes an iPhone 6! Try that with ANY other carrier
  16. thanks didn't know that -- makes sense though! thank you
  17. it seems my devices are tagged with IB (installment Billing) and another two days for them to "fix" that...
  18. well this time around - the agent said both of my iPhones were unlocked on Sprint’s side after she requested it - I was on hold maybe 2-4 minutes? I asked her whats next and she didn’t know - other than pressing ##UPDATE# from dialer — which I did. I know with ATT a text message or service push was seen and you re-activate the device. Bit that was with the 4 and 4s… Once a week… hmm no thanks I pay money to them they can keep me in the loop or I can call them. whats the rush? I want to take advantage of Crickets 20GB promo for $55
  19. for those that have had success with Sprint unlocking… what did you need to do to get Apple to respond?
  20. nope… my assumption is they picked that date from the beginning of selling iPhones - so that no iPhone would get unlocked “by mistake”. But now that it is required….
  21. I called again and was told my two phones had a date of 2099 to unlock. She submitted a ticket to have that set to now, Seems logical also seems fishy as sprint.... oh said it would be corrected by friday as well. also seems odd
  22. well I assume your geo location is more flat... my town has 7 optimized towers for 800/1900 LTE - and I'm mostly on 3g -- of those 3 are 2500 and no range at all!
