  1. What are some areas where you find strong 4G? I want to go there with my HTC One and see if I can get reception.

The reason I ask is that on my HTC One I can barely get 4G anywhere in Johnson City. I got it once when I was stationary at Taco Bell in Gray, and once while I was stationary at the Wendy's in Boones Creek. I have never gotten 4G while driving even on major arteries like I-26 or State of Franklin. Based on what I see elsewhere online it seems like he HTC One might have serious 4G/LTE problems with some areas of Sprint's NV rollout =/ I want to test it at known strong locations before I consider returning the phone.

I have the same problem, I thought it was my phone.

  2. Also I don't know if it's just me but the HTC One seems to be reporting lte signal strength properly. I noticed it downtown today and in Cleveland that the further away from the tower I got the lower the bars were with my evo lte the signal would almost always stay high regardless how close or far away I was. Maybe someone else with the One can help me determine if I'm correct.

I would love to get that phone, but the lack of an sd slot would drive me insane. Performance wise, how much better is it compared to the Evo LTE?

  3. Spoke with the manager for the Sprint store at Earth Fest yesterday. He said that 6 towers had LTE turned on this past week and that they were trying to complete the smaller areas first before they concentrate on Knoxville. Supposedily he gets emails daily showing 4G activation, I wanted to tell him I have Robert for that :) . We also talked about the HTC One and GS4. He did have a Samsung rep with him, had they been from HTC I would have given them an earful about the lack of a micro sd slot.

  4. At around 530 this morning leaving UT heading to Chattanooga I got 4g from the Alcoa exit to the 640 split and I've been told the tower in corryton that was marked in progress is complete my brother in law got 4g last night around 1130pm

It is like I am cursed, everytime I pass by a tower that is a work in progress, the next week they start broadcasting 4G.

  5. Not picking up an 4g on my iPhone 5 yet, but I'm very close to the tower at Middlebrook and Gallaher View. I'll be sure to update when I see some activity at that location. Some Insituform drain pipe company has been doing some work there recently which was cause for a little false alarm excitement a couple weeks ago!

I pass by that tower everyday. I see the Instituform drain pipe company doing work after midnight, fixing out wonderful sewers here.

  6. So this came out today: http://www.engadget....geles-april-12/

In the image, the header states in bold that the announcement includes the Nashville market... but the list of cities affected aren't the Nashville market at all.

    Memphis, Greenville, Tullahoma

Memphis is it's own market with Greenville and Tullahoma geographically far enough away to not even matter to the Nashville Market.

So what does this mean exactly? Maybe it was a typo and LTE will be officially turned on tomorrow for Nashville?

The Nashville market is Nashville and everything in East Tennessee.

  7. Finally got to take my trip up to Johnson City from Knoxville. Data speeds and connectivity are quite improved since the last time I took the trip, especially once you hit I-81. Definitely was nice seeing the the 4g icon light up for the first time. Ran sensorly on both an EVO LTE and a Note 2 which made me want to throw my EVO LTE out the car window. Having to airplane mode toggle it for it to pick up LTE is rather frustrating. The Note 2 had no issues picking up and maintaining signals. Once in Johnson City though, both phones pick up and maintain LTE just fine in the main area of town. It's quite nice and I can't wait for it to get to Knoxville.

Here's some speeds here in JC. Not some of the spectacular numbers I have seen but still quite good and much better than I'm used to.

DId you have any problems picking up and maintaining a 4G signal on I26? I lose my signal once I past the exit for Gray.
