I'll be heading up to Sylva NC from Knoxville in the morning I'm gonna see if Newport and areas down I40 have any lte that hasn't been mapped yet.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I got phantom LTE signals the other day driving through there, hope you get better results.

Just noticed on sensorly that Johnson City is showing signs of LTE.

That's what her white one was doing that day

Went to Kingsport the other day, still was not able to connect to 4G around Jeff City, was able to connect around the Morristown and Greeneville exits. Also I was able to connect to 4G in Kingsport without having to toggle my phone.

No luck today, but I did pick up phantom LTE signals all the way from exit 412 to the papermill exit.

I had to toggle airplane mode on my EVO to finally connect but I never could get my girlfriends evo to connect which is odd. She has the White evo and I have the black one.
I tried the toggle method and my phone jumped from 1xRTT to eHRPD but never to LTE, I have the black evo also. I will try again tomorrow.

I stopped and talked to a crew here at one of the Knoxville sites I've been watching 2 days ago and they are about to finish the back haul of that tower within a week weather permitting. The NV cabinet is already in place as is the cables running to it I couldn't see if the ruus were in place yet but he said his crews were almost done with quite a bit of towers within this area of North Knox. So hopefully within the next few weeks we hopefully might see some of these towers coming online.

Did he say if they were on schedule or behind?

Was able to map out Kingsport and Church Hill today. 4G speeds were pretty impressive.
Kingsport
Church Hill
I think Sprint is blocking the LTE signal around Morristown and the Jefferson City exit.

Did you grab a speed test there off 417? I'll be out there Wednesday morning to check this if not. Keep hoping to see some in Knoxville come online soon I can tell its getting closer
Wasn't able to connect to 4G around Jeff City, got a singal for about a second around Morristown, but I was able to map out White Pine, which was a surprise.

I know my 3g speed here in knoxville has dropped from about 1.4 to .60 the last 2-3 weeks I'm hoping that is a good sign for tower upgrades in progress.

What part of town is that, mine has been fluctuating a lot, but I figure that the sun was out or that there is tower work being done.
-
That whole area over there definitely needs it. Most of those areas have had only 2g for the longest time. It'll be nice when I'm taking trips to the tri cities that I'll have a good data connection soon.

Kingsport seems to have better 3G speeds than Bristol or Johnson CIty. Rogersville also has pretty decent speeds. Morristown is kinda weird, near downtown the speeds are ok, off the interstate you may have better luck with smoke signals. Elizabethon doesn't seem to have had any work done yet. Nor Jonesborough.

I didn't realize that I-81 was showing 4G until I was in Greeneville, I took the back way home. I may head up that way tomorrow. I will try to do a speed test near 417.
Greeneville, TN

According to Sensorly a couple of LTE sites are or were live at one point in Greenville. Anyone near there that could check it out?
Sent from my rooted LTEVO running CM10.
I mapped out some more area in Greeneville, it is showing in Sensorly now. Also near Jeff City, 4G is showing up, I don't know if I mapped that or not, since my phone was showing 3g but LTE Discovery was saying LTE.

Quick question, is it just me or did the I-81 corridor between knoxville and the tri cities used to have 3g along it? Was just looking at some Sensorly maps and noticed now it's nothing but 2g. Does that mean anything at all?
Sent from my rooted LTEVO running CM10.
The 3G along that route is a hit or miss. Near Greeneville it picks back up, Morristown is 2G, even in the city. Once you get close to Johnson City and Kingsport I have seen the speeds increase to over 1mbps.
-
Thank you. If you could come to Maryville and experience these 3G speeds, you might step to the edge with me! There are times of the day when it's literally unusable. Like, no data.
Again, thanks for the quick responses guys. I figured Maryville would be included, but uncertainty was creeping up.
I have actually gotten some decent 3G speeds in Maryville and Alcoa. It might depend on the time of day and phone.
-
Can anyone else confirm this? This happens to me several times a day. Not sure if its the network or just my phone.
Sent from my rooted LTEVO running CM10.
The only thing that happened to me was I was able to get over 2mbps at home for about a month and now I am back to .5mbps

Is it possible to use Sensorly and overlook a 4G area due to the issue with the radio in the LTEVO?
-
Awesome, I should be heading back through there next Friday and back on Veterans Day, I couldn't hit eHRPD until I was almost back home and hit Montery a couple weeks ago.
I updated another forum, but I am seeing eHRPD all through out Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville. WIl be heading down I75 today, will see what I can find down there.
-
eHRPD is showing up in Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, Tn. I was able to get over 1MB. Still waiting on Knoxville, although I was able to get over 2MB in one part of town.
