This is not that kind of conversion. This is swapping out the Huawei equipment with Nokia equipment as mandated by the government. The sites were already broadcasting B41, and still are broadcasting B41, however now with the capability to broadcast 2 carriers and 2xCA.
Oh ok gotcha. So is this type of conversion going to happen each upgrade ? Since we're on the verge of 3Ca launch very soon.

Found another clearwire conversion with better photos this time around.
Are they converting all clear wire sites to NV in SoCal to help close the 1.9 gaps we have ?

Sure just send me the Zip codes you want to know about. I will make sure to get info on LA San Diego and Orange County. Probably Wednesday is when I can get the info. Is this a natiowide issue? With being without 800mhz LTE? I knew it existed in Vegas...

It's mostly the border areas. Mexico and Canada and the states along those borders. El Paso, Tx also etc. 92802(Orange County), 92532(riverside county) just those areas. I've heard San Diego is separate from OC, LA, Vegas. Becuase they deal directly with Mexico rebanding. At least that's what I heard. If you can get some info and get back to us that would be great.

Yes B26 is so far on track to be activated in the next 90 days. As far as I know it is already on the sites just turned off. From my understanding this was because it was causing interference... I believe with Emergency Service and such.. I will have to ask and make sure. What's crazy is in Vegas Sprint outperforms in a lot of categories... even being named 2 out of the last 3 times the Top Network in Vegas by RootMetrics..... without ANY 800mhz! So I am very excited to see it be activated. I live in Pahrump though but work in Vegas, so I experience the best and WORST of Sprint daily! Why was it being held up in Cali?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I honestly don't know the hold up for SoCal. From what I was told was whenever SoCal gets cleared, so will vegas since the same county is holding it up. I'm praying to the gods above that SoCal gets cleared in 90 days with Vegas. Lol. Is there anyway you can check your source and ask them about SoCal, including LA, San Diego and Orange County for 800mhz LTE and get back to us ?

Well I have a little inside baseball knowledge. As far as Vegas 212 Towers are set to activate the 800mhz LTE in next 90 days. (Estimate). Pahrump should be done by December from what I heard yesterday. I heard from a higher up beginning of the year that Pahrump was going to get "everything LTE..." but as far as I know it's just it's just B25 1900. B26 would be nice though. B41 is still TBD. I do know they are very focused on hitting the Strip in Vegas hard with B26 to get into the hotels, and I heard they will be densifying it greatly with small cells on B41 with possible 3x Carrier Aggregation. Saw 5 new towers slated to open in next 6 months ish for N Las Vegas too. I honestly don't know about these Microwave setups... will All of 160 be lit up with 4G from Vegas to Pahrump? Or are they going straight over the top of the mountain?

Ok hold on, I would like to get excited but I'm in Southern California and I was told band 26 is being held up by San Bernadino county and that SB county is also holding up Vegas along with SoCal. So unlesss you know something we don't know, is vegas getting band 26 before SoCal ? I thought since SB is holding up for both counties that they would get cleared together ?!? Or am I missing something here. We need band 26 band in SoCal and my life will be complete.

Ya I thought so too but I just heard from a high up executive in sprint who told me that
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jesus. Did he say when it would get resolved ?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes it's basically all of Southern California
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ive been told that San Diego is a separate issue since it's closer to the Mexican border. And that San Bernadino is for LA, OC and surrounding areas plus Vegas.

Ok so I live in Lake Elsinore CA, and it's supposedly considered riverside county. So if sprint does get the 800mhz resolved with San Bernadino by Jan 2017, would I be in an area that would get the spectrum available when it's rolled out ?

And there is a chance that getting permits in Clark County, NV for the last 2 links could be a problem, but at least Nye County was quick and easy.

So it sounds like November/December you should have decent LTE coverage. Nice

Today I was right by the north Sprint site in Pahrump and they were working on the tower running cable for the new microwave backhaul that they are adding to the sites on the Pahrump side of Mt Charleston. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow because the 1 I did get was really blurry.
Are they prepping for LTE finally ?

I noticed on sensorly that there's a slight increase in coverage for sprint. It looks like Casper WY has a smudge of LTE, parts of coverage outside Denver as well, and some southern states seem to look like coverage has increase marginally.

Backhaul for rural sites has been a hard and slow process. It's terrible how slow it's going. Microwave backhaul to rural sites seems to becoming a big norm in the desert southwest. Here in Pahrump, they applied for amendments for existing permits to expand microwave backhaul to all sites running in Pahrump and between Pahrump & Vegas.
And pahrump is still on 3G isn't it ? I remember driving there from Vegas to meet a friend while I was in town awhile back. Smh. I feel like sprint should have addressed the backhaul issues before the LTE rollout. They're still building out the LTE network because of this issue.

Any news about San Bernardino & LTE 800?
Sent from my SM-G935U using Tapatalk
Unfortunately no, I asked last week about that. At this pace, we'll be lucky if they get this all worked out by 2019. 2020 maybe.

Nothing new and between LV and LA you find a lot of 1x800 sites and I'm sure more are life now.
1X800 what does that mean ? Is that 3G sites or literally when my iPhone says 1X ? And also when band 26 finally gets cleared will all of those legacy sites along that highway get blanketed with LTE ? Sprint is literally the only carrier that doesn't have LTE from LA to Vegas the entire way. Kind of frustrating when I make that drive to sin city once a month

There were 27 sites as part of the agreement that could be "short spaced" before the rebanding is completed. Maybe this is one of them or better yet, not one of them.
So once it's cleared would that mean band 26 would be activated from L.A to Vegas on the I-15. It's practically 3G the entire way. Kind of frustrating when I drive to Vegas.

Sprint has definitely been going after the low hanging fruit of more LTE b41 carriers and more 25 LTE carrier bandwidth for a while. This will likely continue given CFO comments. They also have been adding LTE to ground mounted sites. I expect all of this to continue. Small cells are a greater unknown at this point, especially their timing. Sprint wants to have a profitable year for the first time in many years. The concept is this will help drive down interest costs.
So you're saying the rest of the year continue turning on band 41 in more markets as well as adding a 2nd career of band 25 mostly ? And what do you mean add LTE to ground sites ? Can you explain that ?

Hopefully soon for San Diego. A lot of areas and indoors are often only 3G or 1x. Still waiting for those small cells and micro sites to show up while we wait for 800 MHz.
Exactly. It's crazy it's taken so long. At this point I'm praying for everything to be cleared by 2018 lol

Arm is somewhat a profitable entity with a good positive reputation. Sprint...eh not so much.
Remember Softbank did try to sell Sprint and would have if there were any takers (there are none).
Actually false, Son said "he thought" about it, he didn't really put it on the table officially

I'm baffled it's taken this long for Sprint to get the 800mhz cleared.

I'm just hoping sprint resolves the band 26 issue for Southern California Vegas and Phoenix soon. We need that coverage bad

Does anyone know how to do a PRL update on sprints iPhone 6S plus ? I was told by a sprint store that my coverage at work would get better once I do the update(which I'm not sure if that's true) but I would still like to try anyways

I was very disappointed seeing these speeds all last weekend inside casinos and walking the strip.

Good stuff, hey so on the Vegas thread, someone who claims to have inside knowledge, claims that band 26 is ready to go live in Vegas in the next 90 days and that it's already on the sites. I thought SB county was holding up Vegas like SoCal? That's what I told him. Is there any truth to what he said ? I'm asking you to clarify so I don't get the wrong information
