  1. That was a clever way to get a response.

It basically aligns with what I was told.

So that 2H2018 was probably just a conservative guess on their part since they really don't know. At least that's what it sounds like. Could be anytime all the way up till the next 2 years

  2. I recently emailed Günther Ottendorfer and got a response from another Sprint employee that all of LA Metro won't be getting B26 until 2H2018. That seemed contrary to the public opinion about San Bernardino being the holdup in this market, so I pressed them about it and they cited frequency clearing in Mexico as the holdup.

Interesting and very upsetting if true...I'll wait and see what Gunth says in response to your email. I can't trust just a sprint employee but rather I would trust someone in management over an employee.

  3. Found out that a friend is working on re-tuning radios for an LA bus agency (presumably Metro) that involves frequencies in the 800Mhz spectrum. Wasn't able to get many details from him, but I'm assuming this is connected with the rebanding effort. Encouraging to see that action is taking place.

Can you possibly get more details from him ? Vegas is finally getting band 26. I've heard that it could be anywhere between now and the next 6 months and that San Bernadino county has a 1/30/2017 deadline to meet. If you can ask your friend and get back to us that would be excellent. We need 800mhz bad for indoor coverage

  4. I suspect that he is referring to the character flaw chronic among former Sprint users who feel the need to stick around Sprint discussion and repeatedly tell how Sprint has disappointed them. Other people move on with their lives and interests.

If you dislike Sprint that much then why don't you leave ? Some of us actually have great service like myself in SoCal. Yes they have a sketchy past but I rather them take their time and get it done right then rush it and not be reliable something some T-Mobile users say when they're on band 12 in some markets

  6. Great to see Sprint finally upgrading these interstate sites!

Speaking of which, does anyone know if there is LTE on the I15 from Barstow to the Nevada border yet?

Hell I'll go even further, what about LTE from Victorville to Vegas lol. My SoCal drive to Vegas I'm on LTE about 40% of my drive and it's a 3.5 hour drive

  7. Yes, as a matter of fact I had unbroken LTE from West Hollywood to just past Wiley's Well...220 miles. Didn't drop to EVDO once. I was streaming iTunes Match the entire time. Up until Blythe, that is. That's a first, usually data was mostly unusable on that stretch of the 10 through the desert. Even checking email didn't work. So things are indeed still improving. I would of mapped if I didn't have an iPhone.

Good stuff sir. Keep us updated if they upgrade towers from Blythe all the way to Phoenix. My kids are in Arizona as I use to live there but live back in SoCal so I make that drive once a month to see them on weekends

  8. B25 LTE switched on the towers between Indio and just outside Blythe on I-10, nice long stretch. Cactus City rest stop, Chiriaco Summit, Desert Center, all the way to the Wiley's Well rest area have usable data now. Blythe to about 10 miles east of Tonopah still EVDO and 1x, until Buckeye when LTE kicks in again.

  10. Hopefully someone there will figure things out soon. With 2 B25 bands and B41 (where available) I have noticed that I no longer stick to B26 all the time. In fact, even with a relatively weak signal (talking the -110dBm range) I get moved to B25 rather than idle on B26. It started becoming noticeable last fall, and is now pretty widespread. This is in both the Kansas and Missouri market. I noticed similar behavior in Colorado, but I wasn't paying as close attention seeing as I was on vacation ;)

Did you at least get hammered while on vacay ?

  11. I got some B26 action in front of my house which is down the street from the M Resort. It wasn't a speed demon, but it would do in a pinch. When i walked in my house, I switched back to B41.

I also had B26 for less than a minute in my office at work in old Henderson. Hopefully things keep progressing along all over the valley.

  12. .

I don't have any new info. All my info is from public records. I've reached out to various people at SB County and Sprint but nobody has given me any answers. I wish I had more time to look into it.

You're doing the best you can bro. If you hear anything about SoCal please let us know. I'll be in Vegas soon so I'll be chomping at the bit to see band 26

  13. Unfortunately it is not linkable.

Here's how you can get it though:

    1. Go here: http://cob-sire.sbcounty.gov/sirepub/

    2. Change the date range in the search to: 8/15/15-10/15/15

    3. Search for the keyword "Sprint"

    4. Find the link labeled "Approve Amendment No. 5 to Revenue Agreement No. 0 - R1 CON-ISD-9-15-15-Nextel FRA Amd5.doc"

The list of short-spaced sites is on page 88.

Do you have any information for us regarding SoCal yet ? Any new deadlines ? I need better inbuilding coverage in my laboratory at work before I throw my phone
