Do we have anything new to report about the 800mhz for Southern California or is it still being held hostage currently ?

Move there? No way, I'm done moving. Hopefully for a long time!

Fair enough [emoji57] are you going to billings or Missoula or even Helena anytime soon ? Maybe coverage is more solid there and you can map the progress
-
Will you be doing anymore mapping ? Just move there and keep us updated also do we know the progress from ND, SD or Wyoming at all ?

I wish we had more users in the northern states that could track Sprints LTE progress via Sensorly app to update and post on the app regulary in Montana, north and South Dakota and Wyoming. Not just once a month

Please follow up with us on what you experience in Marquette. I have the U.P. towers in my premier thread and I'd like to officially update the stats with the information.
Brynn, do you still have an iPhone 5? Or have you upgraded?

Based solely on what is showing in root metrics of an unknown date, I would say Great Falls MT, Missoula MT, and Caspar WY are plausible. Likely any of these are just in testing or operating like a protection site (public not really allowed). We really need a knowledgeable member on the ground to really know (or a cooperative Sprint insider).
Yeah we need someone in those areas who can keep us updated and to map on sensorly. Also I noticed some activity in Helena MT on the sensorly app? Did you catch that also ?

The official FCC status of our various new locations remains as "Offlined for Expired License Review".
Nothing new on the Sensorly side, however Root Metrics shows the following entries (date unknown):
Caspar, WY lots of LTE entries, max speed 4.1/5 (down/up).
Rapid City, SD lots of LTE entries, but minimal speed of 0.1/0.1
Sioux City, SD lots of LTE entries, 2.5/4.6
Brookings, SD lots of LTE entries, 2.3/1.0
Watertown, SD lots of LTE entries, 1.7/0.9
Aberdeen, SD some LTE entries, 2.2/1.4
Billings, MT 1.9/1.5
Great Falls, MT 4.4/1.7
Missoula, MT 3.6/1.2
Some others are also shown. We can not rule out carrier or LTE misidentification.
So all of those places are currently picking up some kind of sprint LTE ?

Looks like Sprint LTE is live in parts of Missoula according to Sensorly and someone's post on Reddit.

Completely off topic but important question but my girlfriend lives in Marquette MI and it says roaming area for coverage. She said that lately she's been seeing more sprint commercials whereas before she hadn't. Now I'm curious why would sprint have local advertising in an area that offers no sprint coverage ? I assume they don't plan on expanding in Marquette anytime soon if at all ???

On the sensory website if you zoom in, you can see when the coverage in an area was recorded. If I remember correctly, the LTE in Alaska is bogus but you can check. If it was updated this February to March then it's legit.
I have no access to a computer only my iPhone. Can I check on the website still ?

So dumb question but is that LTE in Alaska(anchorage) on sensorly false like the ones in upper NE Montana ? I know they're trying to expand in Alaska was just curious if that's real or not on the app

There is no way to say. These maps mean nothing as far as future expansion goes. They are just there to show that Sprint satisfied the G Block buildout requirements. Sprint holds the G Block nationwide, so theoretically they could put it to use anywhere. But there is no way to say where.
Oh ok gotcha, and that FCC filing that I read is that new markets that will see LTE ? I know they're doing work in the Montanas now. It seems like a minimal LTE expansion based off everything I'm hearing. Mostly focused on capacity and densifying the network

It does appear that most markets roughly follow BEA boundaries. Cellcom likely has first rights for LTE in that area as it is on Sprint's 3G and more special coverage map on their website.
My girlfriend goes to school in Marquette Michigan basically in that boundary that's outlined in the map. Would that area see native Sprint LTE soon ?

All right, I made an account here.
I'm the one who's been mapping Missoula, MT and no, it's not fake. On the other hand, it's not very functional either. I get 2-4M down when I'm in the downtown area and around the mall. On campus it barely works, depending. Data works better if I force my phone to 3G. Tweets to Sprint Care only get me the reply that they're aware of the issue and working on it.
Some of my friends now think I'm a masochist for wanting to stick it out instead of switching, but I'm only expecting to be here for another year before I move, and it's been pretty good in most of the big cities I've been to (except LA). That and I'm only paying $65 for one phone and 25GB of data.
I'm currently in Southern California, live 30 mins from L.A and I can confirm that LTE coverage and speeds are solid throughout the entire city. I'm in L.A every weekend all around. That being said, how do you actually map coverage on sensorly ? I've always wondered that. Also, coverage should grow even more in the next few months so speeds should get better.

Would it be completely out of the question for Sprint to hit 290mill PoPs by years end ? Especially Montana and Dakotas seeing LTE ?

The Montana stuff is native Sprint. The stuff in Western/Central ND and all SD is partnership.
So what does partnership mean ? I thought the partners would use sprints airwaves to roll out LTE ? So when it's deployed by the partners it won't be treated as native sprint coverage ? Sorry I'm lost here

But the Rules are the rules, must respect all staff. Just let it be at that.

That's fine, you guys think he was being helpful when I didn't. It's a lose lose situation. I've let it go a long time ago. I will get my subjective information from others on here in regards to sprint from here on out.
Thanks.

He said that I was trolling based off my profile when I in fact was not and I made that known. Everyone takes things differently and I found what he said to me not helpful at all and insulting. That argument can go both ways. I've dropped it after I stated my case.

Yeah, you already posted that yesterday morning. No need to quote and post again.
No need to be a douche when I'm asking informative questions bro. Regardless whatever my profile says. Be respectful and I will back.
Thanks

The older Eastern Montana, Western North Dakota and Alaska Sprint LTE mapping on Sensorly is not legit. But the new Missoula Sprint LTE mapping does appear to be real. This is because we know Sprint is working in the area and we had reports from Missoula earlier this week of native Sprint CDMA coverage appearing. If all goes to plan, I will be in Missoula next Thursday night and can check for myself.

Great stuff Robert, now I know the Alaska LTE on sensorly is not accurate but I recently went on their and noticed purple for anchorage. Assuming that's not right, when will sprint have LTE sites live there ? You mentioned before that they have protection sites there I believe.

I don't currently know.

Well, your account does say you are here for trolling.

And I've just told you that I'm not here for trolling. I do, in fact love sprint.

San Diego is horrific. The worst experience on sprint by far. I don't understand why anyone who lives there would choose sprint. But Phoenix has a very serviceable network and one that could easily be a number one in the valley.

Debateable bro, I live on the outter skirts of Diego and go into town every weekend. Your experience doesn't equate to everyone's.

I use that map also, it shows other coverage in Montana but the folks over at S4GRU said that someone is spoofing the coverage in Montana so hopefully your post is legit.
It's happening...
I use that app also but I've been told that people are making fake coverages becuause it shows coverage in Montana and North Dakota that isn't true.

Do you know what other areas/states will see native sprint coverage ?
