  1. Yeah I read that it could be a possibility but at this point we have no idea how much 800 MHz spectrum has been cleared to launch anything. It seems like what is holding the effort is Mexico needs to reband first in order for SB county public safety to start to reband. Ultimately we need SB county to reband entirely before LA/OC county can start to deploy 800 MHz LTE. So that tells me that there is no way that even 3x3 MHz has been cleared to even deploy 3x3 LTE in San Diego.

God this is a mess. I'm near corona myself. Band 26 is help fill those gaps

  2. I don't think they're being asked to per say. More that some of the spectrum may not be cleared yet for a full 5x5 carrier to be deployed. But enough is cleared for a 3x3, so they're launching that now since the equipment and everything has been installed for years just waiting. Hopefully the 3x3 turns into a 5x5 soon, but even at 3x3 they seem to have the power cranked up pretty high and it carries far and fills in the gaps between B25.

  3. No visible movement on these "Offlined for Expired License Review" situations. These were originally tied to 800Mhz challenges which still continue in places near borders (or not so near, like Columbus Ohio). Concerned that time may running out.

The way it's set up now, SoCal may not get band 26 until like 2020 [emoji849][emoji30]

  4. I just checked Sensorly and it looks like LTE is almost connected fully from SoCal to Vegas. Which is exciting for my roadtrips when I go to Vegas. Can anyone or anyone from SoCal that's heading to Vegas in the near future confirm this.

  5. I would, but I gave him my word that I would keep everything discussed in the meeting confidential. If you want to get in touch with someone of importance, though, email Gunther. He will have someone of importance reply to your email. Make sure to include all kinds of geeky details and location.

    What's Gunthers email ????

  6. Spoke to an engineer who was installing some Nokia antennas in Pomona, CA off the 71. Said Sprint is really making a push to upgrade all the towers out in the IE and also install small cells because the IE is really lagging so that's a good thing

It's lagging all across SoCal from Lake Elsinore where I live to corona to San Diego to Orange County lol

  7. No, where LTE dropped off was far further than my iPhone carried. I used the LTE only LG G Pad to map with. And yes it's about 1:15 to most areas I go to in Vegas.

  8. This was mapped yesterday while I was working. Part of it was on my trip to Vegas on Thursday as well.

  9. Still lots of improvement needed in Vegas when it comes to the casinos. Where a lot of people walk through.

Last trip I had friends with AT&T and T-mobile where they got LTE and I'm sitting on 3G.

They just started rolling out band 26 last month. I'm sure in about 4-6 months our phones will never see 3G again in that market
