Hello all, it's been about 3 years since I've visited this website. Good to see some action still going on here! With that being said, I recently shattered the screen on my S21 Ultra. It was going to cost me $300 to replace the screen, however I only have about $125 left to pay off the phone. So, I was just going to upgrade to the S23 Ultra instead of repairing the device. However, the T-Mobile rep told me I am not allowed to upgrade my device because we're still being billed by Sprint. How true is this? He told me nobody on my plan is allowed to upgrade until we are finally transferred to T-Mobile billing. This doesn't seem right. What if one of our phones breaks completely? 🤷😡

With all that being said.. Something happened overnight in the Minnesota market. I can't seem to get back on to my Sprint signal. I've always had a pretty low connection at my house(-110 to -115dBm) on Sprint, but now I'm completely stuck on the T-mo network and it's showing as fully native. Speeds over 150mbps, compared to my 3-5mbps on Sprint.. So far, I'm a happy camper.

So I have a Galaxy S8+ and last night I was out driving from Willmar Minnesota to Marshall Minnesota, and my phone said I was roaming on T-Mobile B2. I ran a speedtest and got 45mbps! And my phone still said Sprint in the corner, and LTE above the signal so it was showing as native coverage! It happened 3 separate times!

On my S8+ it loves B25. If B25 is strong, it takes awhile before switching. You can also manually disable B25 to test. #DATA## and EDIT
I have the priorities switched, and tried disabling band 25 and 26 and nothing happened. It stayed on B25. I'm not too sure what's going on.

I just received my S8+ today, and haven't been able to connect to B41 whatsoever. At my work I'd have a -95 to -102 connection on my LG G4. Any way to fix this? I haven't connected to B41 YET on this device. Was really looking forward to getting better speeds then my G4...

Or hopefully sprint expands their network. That would be best.

According to a source of mine, it sounds like Minnesota will be getting a lot of small cell sites in towns that have little to no service currently. I'm really excited to see how things work out with them, because where I live is the only town in a 50 mile radius with somewhat good service.

At least the ping times are below 1000ms
Here in Minnesota we don't have any LTE roaming that I know of. Hopefully we will eventually, because I have a heck of a time getting data to connect on 1x roaming.

@Tengen31 - Here's when I was driving back through Iowa when my phone claimed it was roaming on AT&T but it was actually roaming on US Cellular/Midwest Wireless.....extended network roaming. I ended up roaming for about 2 hours straight.
What are the speeds like on roaming LTE? Take any tests?

Received an update last night. Assuming it's just security?

It depends on where you live. I looked at Cali, and they have very small spots where you will be able to connect to LTE roaming. I think there may be a separate thread for more LTE Roaming info.

I'm wondering if this site in Willmar is the reason why I get B41 at my house. There is only 1 B41 tower in town that has been broadcasting for 2 years now, and just a few months ago I started getting B41 in one room in my house. It's a -110 to -122db connection, so really slow speeds. If I can get a location as to where it is, I can get more speedtests and pictures of the setup!

I'm very excited, as I should be receiving my G4 tomorrow! Thanks for all the feedback guys.
By chance, does anyone know the Sprint G4 dialer codes?
-
Agree.
Great phone, good reception. LG has done a great job with their "G" line since the G2. I get decent battery life, generally at least 24 hours, but I am not a heavy user like many here since my job has me at a computer all day. Camera is awesome too.
Best phone I have owned yet. I also said that about the G3 until they ruined it with the lolipop update. Hopefully that doesn't happen with the G4 marshmallow update. My only complaint is the battery drains quickly but I expected that.
I highly recommend this phone. It has everything you need and customizable. Just make sure you take advantage of the removable battery and get extra ones.

Thank you all for your responses! I am really looking forward to this device, cause I really loved my G2.. Until I.. Uhh.. Dropped it off a rooftop.. :/ haha, but great to hear awesome reviews! Really excited for Tri-Band again and good battery life. I'm lucky if my Optimus G lasts me 5 hours.

I have my upgrade on the 30th of this month, and I've really been looking into getting this device. Is this a good choice? Anything I should know before purchasing this? Thanks.

I need help. I have been trying to root, using both the GUI one click and the other one. But, I can't get my G2 to install the files with USB debugging on in MTP. I can in PTP, and I have the drivers on my laptop, but MTP won't work. Anyone know how to fix this?

So, I may have found a fix for the battery draining. (Credit to QBKing77) Go to Settings>Wi-Fi>The three buttons in the Wi-Fi menu> Advanced Wi-Fi> and turn off Allow Wi-Fi Scanning
Hope this helps some of you!

I haven't even gotten the update yet, and now I'm scared to. A lot of bad reviews, with only a few good ones.. Who thinks it's worth it?

Still no update here yet.. Hopefully tonight yet!

So the rep at my store is completely wrong? Go figure... It sucks because it's the only store within an hour and a half of me. I'm not quite sure what to do about this. I'd really love to get the new phone, but the guy was very rude to me and not willing to help..
