  1. I took a look at the phone at my local Best Buy. Three were on display (I didn't see an Edge).

The design is fantastic. I love the metal edge. No creaky plastic, like my prior note (the Note 2).

The display is great. I do see a difference between 1080p and this phone. I was trying to see if the colors looked fake, like I see on my Galaxy Tab S, but this one seems different. It's hard to tell, though, without loading my own photos.

I spent some time with the camera. It focuses faster than the Nexus 5. But, I obviously couldn't do a low light test, which is where I am really looking for improvement over my Nexus 5. Focusing in low light with my N5 is terrible. It's my main complaint of my current phone.

If the Nexus 6 is made by Motorola, and they haven't made drastic improvements on the camera above the Moto X, I can't go that way. I need / want a top of the line Android camera.

Yeah the camera has a lot of cool features and seemed to perform really well. The s note app seems really improved as well compared to the gn2.

  2. One of my local best buy's had both the Note 4 and the edge on display. Was pretty happy with the look and feel, so I think I'll bite the bullet and preorder. Question is, best buy at $350 but the $200 instantly for the trade in or amazon for $299, with a smaller trade in followed by Samsung cutting the check for the difference in several weeks. Seems like saving the extra $50 would be worth the wait. Anyone think there would be any problems with using the amazon trade in for the Samsung rebate?

    Best Buy should price match.

  3. The information does not explicitly state that it can't be. It should work like every other trade in promotion. The point of the trade in promotion is to lower the out of pocket expense for the customer to encourage them to spend the money here instead of elsewhere. Every single trade in promotion I have ever processed has been able to use it to purchase the new phone. I have seen nothing that states this is any different.

That's how it was explained to me today at best buy. Basically 50 down and 50 when you pick it up that's with the trade

  4. I have two best Buys close to me and both have the Samsung Experience and hoping that they have both the Note 4 and Edge on display. There was a member over at slickdeals that saw both. I really want to check out that Edge before coming to a conclusion of which to get.

this one did not have the Edge

  5. If you want to play with the Note 4, Best Buy has it on display in their Samsung area. They even have the Edge!

  6. If they charge $300 more in the U.S. for the Note Edge, it will be a horrible flop. Charging more than $100US difference will probably not be a good idea in the American market. The Note already is an expensive and premium device. The Note Edge will be worth $100 for the novelty to a lot of people. But $300 for the same specs just is not going to cut it.

Yeah $400 is more than I'm willing to part with. $350 would be my max I'm willing to spend on any device no matter the specs

Granted, probably not on Sprint (or anyone in the US) considering Sprint's preorders are a week later than others.

Samsung didn't do this well. Sure, you announce ahead of the iPhone, but then don't even give a release date until after the launch? Don't assume that possible Note 4 buyers won't look at the iPhone. I probably won't, but the RF performance of the iPhone 6 is sure temping.

If the 6+ wasn't even BIGGER than the N4 that would make it more convincing...

    and wasn't made by apple...lol

Yeah, and somehow it still has a smaller display.

  8. Yeah, but to pack in a bunch of gimmicky features like heart rate sensors and not upgrade the antenna... Personally, comparing to IPhones standard is weak. They are the Kings of doing very little to a device and touting it as huge new advances.

Well they have a very loyal customer base and when you only have one option well

I was referring more to how it's not changed significantly in how many years? This is the first year in many that it's had a big change at least that's my feeling.
