  1. Has anyone noticed how well the WiFi radio performs? I can get 60/12 in my basement now (router is on 2nd floor) on m uh 5ghz network which on my gn2 was more like 5/1 oh and I'm on Comcast 50/10 plan using a Asus router. Very happy with thus improvement!

  2. New issue started today. I fear it is a hardware problem. I can't keep a stable LTE connection. Using Signal Checker my LTE signal is still great and should be fine to stay on it, but whenever I turn on the phone, toggle airplane mode etc... It will keep an active LTE connection for about one minute. I start a streaming music app to see if I can keep the connection going, but it does not keep going. After about a minute the LTE and Spark icon go gray and then the app buffers because it has no signal then it reverts to 3G. Happens every time. Called customer care and they say there is no outages in my area. I have not tried at home yet but at work it doesn't keep a LTE signal. I am in the Atlanta area. They are supposed to have a technician call me in 72 hours to see if I still have an issue.

I'm outside the 15 day return window for Best Buy, so I'm not sure they will exchange the phone for a new one. I have tried updating profile and PRL, they sent a refresh from Sprint's end also and it did not fix it.

    Any thought?

The only thing I have not done yet is factory reset. I may do that tomorrow if I still am having issues.

Can you post screen shots of engineering screen?

  3. Does your signal strength show up in SCP logs for the site? You were connected to a clearwire site so it should show in the logs. You can check the strongest signal location to find where to stand to check speed. I know the 8t8r sites around me are not pointing down enough so the signal gets weaker as you get closer to the site. I get a better signal when I am elevated and farther away from band 41.

That's a good point I will take a look at it this afternoon!l.

  4. Looks like you were connected to the clear site but disconnected the rsrp is 0 in your screenshot. I have been disconnected from lte for 5 hours and engineering still shows as connected but it is just stale data. rsrp will have your signal strength value if connected.

I know the rsrp was 0 I don't get how I could be that close and have no signal? I was stationary as well? I have yet to connect to a clear site and have a use able data signal it shows up in engineering screen but rsrp is always 0?

  5. Correct 2500 should show up for 88ter or clearwire sites that have an odd third digit for example 01B clear sites are showing as 2500 band 41. Clearwire has a different plmn than sprint so if the plmn is 310120 it is sprint but for samsung devices this number does not change even if the tower is broadcasting a different plmn. If you have your engineering screen open you can see the different plmn/provider. Most clear sites have an even third digit meaning they show as only band 25.

So if I got sit next to a clear site what should I expect to see and should in be able to connect to it?

  6. I started running the log feature in SCP a few days ago and noticed the only b41 I'm getting is from 8TR sites? I have not on clear site in my log and I drive by numerous clear sites to and from work? Has an one else experienced this?

  7. Same here...my note 4 fluctuates between band 25 and band 26 at home and never connects to band 41 where I used to connect to band41 all the time. My nexus 5 is activated on my gfs line and we would be in the same spot and hers will be connected to band41 the whole time but the note will jump all over the place.

At work it jumps from band 41 to 3g all the time..again my nexus 5 will stay connected to band 41 the whole day..the funny thing is if I start streaming videos when I'm on b41 it won't disconnect but as soon as it's idle for a few seconds it drops to 3g

Hopefully a new update with a new modem will fix it ...

since SP update I have been able to watch my GN4 do a lot of bouncing as well. This is my first triband phone so unfortunately I have nothing to compare it to.

  8. 90% of the time my Note 4 is on wi-fi and the radios are inactive; either home wi-fi or via my Zing when I travel..could be

that the Note 4 radios are adding heat especially if they are cycling trying to lock to this or that RF band..

just a thought..as I said my Note 4 rarely uses the on-board radios

Not sure it seems to park on band 25 where I'm at (work) I'll keep an eye on it though and see if it jumps around when out and about. Other than that though nice upgrade from the gn2 very happy!

  9. Nope...but I don't do a lot of video streaming and/or long voice calls...what were

you doing with the Note 4 when you noticed the warmth?

A bunch of things! Lol I've noticed it a few times but haven't had it long enough to narrow it down yet. If I do figure it out I'll post what I figure out.

Edit I have done a few lengthy voice calls and it was fine with that.
