Have you asked in the signal check thread? Mike is pretty good about responding to questions? But now will I see my normal notifications that I want to see like messages and emails? I would think turning that all the way off would shut them all off.

On the note 4 never. I know it drives me nuts too! There are some work around like using Google voice. Search this thread it's been discussed here already.Any information on if/when we will be able to have simultaneous voice & data capabilities again? I JUST upgraded to the Note 4 (long overdue from my S3) and imagine my frustration! Being a former employee and 15 year customer, I cannot believe this situation...help!

Turn off b41 and see the difference.Doesn't sem to matter where I am here in NE MA....even sitting in my living room, the phone constanfly switched between bands 26, 26, 41, all of which show between -93and -115 signal strength. What I am curious about is why does it not consistently stay on the band with the nest signal? It literally changes bands every 5 seconds or so.
This occurs sitting at home, driving to work or while at work.
Thoughts / suggestions?

With the amount of b41 currently and the continued progress this number should continue to improve. With all the hype around Verizon being so much faster I'm shocked at their performance. Guess their marketing department is doing a great job.

As much as I appreciate trying to get the battery time to last that's not really the world I live in. I use my phone all day long multiple apps etc. How long I can get it to last turning this and that off is not real world for me. I have "everything" on and get about 10 to 8 hours use before charging. Which with the fast charge is nice as I can charge for 15 to 29 mins and I'm food till I go to bed. Sounds like I'll be staying on the 4.4 rom until tex gets a 5.0 version out. Thanks for all the input though it's good to see people active in this thread!

As you said "perceived" , people hate TouchWiz so they think anything other is faster. Benchmarks are actual numbers not perception. But at the end of the day use what you like as long as it's not iOSI know benchmarks say otherwise but the GUI is vastly faster on the Nexus 5, therefore one would say that the Nexus 5 is faster due to perceived responsiveness. That's what I am saying when in regards to the Nexus 5 and Note 4.

I found this article compares benchmarks near bottom. Numbers are clear......sorry.There is a pretty significant difference in quite a few things, mostly though I have my old launcher back which I really love.

Some say yes some say no. I think it's more mental than anything. I'm running a custom rom so I couldn't tell you from personal experience. I can say I had a n5 and hated it. I wasn't impressed at all.Sorry it's been awhile since I have actually touched a different launcher, being on my Nexus 5 or Note 4. If I switch to say Nova which I used to use on my S3 will the performance improve? /stupidmoment

There is other launchers IE nova prime etc, or you can root and do a custom rom. It could be worse, like iOS worse

The RDF file extension is also associated with the Research Document information Format and the Resource Description Framework file format (related to XML and metadata) you can Google it if you want more detail. But this is it in a nutshell. Can someone explain what these RDFs are? I have never been able to view them.

Really I thought my note2 was faster than the nexus 5? This note 4 is even faster? [emoji15]I really want lollipop, coming from a Nexus 5 this Note 4 is a bit on the slow side. [emoji14]

No one is cornering. He insist his opinion is fact based on his vast knowledge, Yet provides only opinion. Which by the way I respect, though I don't agree. I do see why trying to ward of sprint bashing etc is needed as I believe that leads no where good. I don't agree that saying it's a bad business desicon is sprint bashing as its just an opinion as long as it's kept to that and not drug out. If he would not state his opinion as fact then I think the response would be better received. Just my two cents.Cornering AJ into fact vs opinion does nothing to further our education and can be used to define a troll. It is fact that LTE is a more fragile airlink and therefore VoLTE is not as reliable as 1x800. For a company that has had reliability issues, Sprint is wisely holding off on its implementation.
Single path radios, as explained by AJ, were necessary to stay in business and no one can fault a good business decision especially given 1x800's coverage ability.

Care to share those facts? An opinion is an opinion, even if "well" informed.

I agree the note series needs to take a higher priority than they currently give it. I'd imagine VOLTE will be on the 5 as well as CA and roaming bands. For the 4 it wasn't a big deal as non of those features are live yet in most markets. If it lacks those features on the 5 it would be very disappointing but not really surprising.Wow. That's really unfortunate. So the Note 6, two years from now, should support joint voice and data? Sprint can't afford to have missteps like this.
I know people will defend Sprint and that's fine, but these are the moves that keep them in the 4th spot.
Softbank acquisition may not be as rosy as some assumed.
