    Max, give them time. I was pretty upset the last few months with Sprint and then last month when visiting home for a few days Sprint finally surprised me. They had finally competed T1 upgrades in my area as well as Barstow, CA, and the improved data speeds make me much happier. They will get to Phoenix.

    Does Sprint have any under-utilized A block or B block spectrum? It could be possible that they are testing in the unused portions of their existing PCS spectrum. I wish the references mentioned band too.

    If I don't upgrade to a newer 15", then I will be buying an 8GB RAM upgrade. So you have the Mid 2009 model too?

    You are right, I guess I forgot. However, the issue at hand is not whether the other carriers will ever use the PCS spectrum to deploy LTE, it's whether at&t and Verizon will buy parts of the H-block just to squat on like they do with other spectrum just so that Sprint can't acquire the full nationwide H-block since it will be done by auction.

    Why can't they just buy out SouthernLINC so that they have the rest of the SMR spectrum in the southeast that they don't already have and then they can deploy the full 5x5 carriers?

    Yes the bill specified that the H-block was to be used for LTE and I think, but don't quote me, that it was supposed to be used for a nationwide emergency broadband network for law enforcement and emergency personnel.

    I thought that the government has a specific use for the H-Block PCS and it has to be used for the purpose that was outlined when congress approved the bill.

    I'm surprised you are getting usable roaming in the US on GSM. I thought that domestic GSM radios were disabled in the chipset so that wouldn't happen. Also, I didn't know that Sprint had GSM roaming agreements with any of the U.S. GSM carriers. Talk about surprises.

    Thanks for the explanation there. Is 1xA still efficient in small MHz sections if Sprint wanted to take 10 or 20 MHz from their other PCS block holdings and convert those to LTE later?

    For a pre paid provider to offer roaming it would raise the price of service for that provider and wouldn't be worth having when you can have a decent phone subsidized for 2 years and pay a little bit more per month. Prepaid mobile is for the budget conscience person. Some prepaid carriers have been able to negotiate cheap roaming agreements, but not many have.
