Us west cellular

So I was wondering if anybody knows what really happened to US West cellular?

Do they still have anntenas up?

Did they have lte?

Cause looking at anntena search there are still allot of us west sites coming up.

I ask cause there is a site that has no major carriers on it. It has clearwire, and cricket. So the remaining anntenas have a single rru behind it. At&t is like 75 yards away from this site, verizon is a little farther, sprints is just a block down an tmo is a couple blocks away.

I did pull up some pictures from Google on what their anntenas would look like an it does match on what i saw.

So maybe my question is answered but I figured I would ask on here for more info.

I can get pics too.

It's a site that has numerous microwaves on it too.

Which US West Wireless? In the late 90's US West/AirTouch merged forming the basis for what is now Verizon. In the late 90's US West (later Qwest) launched again. By 2004 they sold off of their wireless spectrum and other assets (mostly to Verizon), becoming a Sprint MVNO.

Do they still have anntenas up?

No. They haven't had a network of their own in either incarnation for more than a decade. If it was company owned, it went most likely went to Verizon.

Did they have lte?

No.

I see. So then i wonder who's anntenas these are. I'll get some pics.

I'm not sure what resource you are using to search ownership. If it is something like antenna search, data there is notoriously outdated. It could be anyone's equipment on the sites at this point. Verizon is a safe bet on most of them.

Now seeing the gray cabinet for tmo. Not use to seeing that setup. Been seeing allot of their new setup. Thank you.

I hope sprint will do a relocate to this site. The site down the street on a office building is horrible.

And since this clearwire site doesn't broadcast band 41 only wimax it would be perfect for them too.
