32 800's? Wow, someone had a busy weekend....

Not to put a damper on things, but 800 updates are from a source that reports to S4GRU not nearly as frequently.  This doesn't necessarily mean that they completed all of those over the weekend.

All in all, progress is progress.

Here's to a 100+ site update with 40+ LTE like Utah, :D!

Can't wait until we can connect to those sites with stock prl's.

Hey Folks! The Premier Sponsor Discount Is Back For The Holidays!

Over in the Sponsor section, we have a thread touting a special offer for members to upgrade to the Premier Sponsor level in celebration of the now growing number of Band 26 (LTE 800) sites.  http://s4gru.com/ind...26-info-teaser/

Because of of frequent requests, we have decided to extend, for a limited time,  a discount for members to upgrade to Premier Sponsor.  From now through Tuesday, December 31st, you can upgrade to the Premier Sponsor level for $25 off.

So if you are only $50 away from reaching the Premier level, it would only cost you $25 now.  If you have never donated to S4GRU but want to go straight to the Premier level, you can do so for just $75.  And remember, Premier Sponsorships never expire!!!

If you are unsure how far you are away from the Premier level, send me a PM and I will respond with the amount you need to receive the upgrade.  I hope to see you in the Premier Sponsor section soon!

Robert

*NOTE:  Promotion ends at 11:59 PM Hawaii Standard Time on Tuesday, December 31, 2013.

Picked up LTE in delaware for the first time at my house last night, came on out of no where at about 11:00 last night, and is still on now. Pretty exciting, I don't wanna put my phone down haha. Got pretty good speeds, about 20 MB down, and 10 Mb up

Doing some digging into the spreadsheet and applying a bunch of probability, there's a couple sites in Delaware that have yet to be claimed as LTE broadcasting. It spawns a lot of hmmm, head scratching and such as it means there are sites that weren't getting LTE that are now and until we get more LTE sites turned on and documented we won't know for sure which ones will and won't.

All that said, can you do a couple things? First, do a little driving and watch the RSRP value, when it dips better then -80 then you should be pretty close to the tower. Report back which tower your getting that signal from. Second, install and/or startup Sensorly and drive around and map some LTE. Third, oh I skipped that, can you install Signal Check Lite (and maybe buy the pro version) and when you get to that site, post a screen shot of the app screen as it will also yield info that can help fill in the spread sheet. There's a value known as PCI that the app may show you, there are 3 per site, we could use those numbers as you drive around the site and connect to the different antennas.

Thank you and welcome!

I have signalcheck pro and sensorly installed on my phone already and mapped some this morning, and will continue to do so.   Here's the screenshot

and no problem!

Not that anyone here would harm you, be careful mapping from home only. I'm pretty sure I can tell you what street you live on and which house it is on that street.

Are you mapping down around Cheshire Rd? I didn't see anything other than a blip by the airport. That's where we need to see that better than -80 on LTE

Zoom in.

Today's post has been brought to you by Sprint, the letters GN and the number 2.

that's why I ask because I did see one where I can see the house around there. if that's the case then he's connecting to the Shanahan Road site for LTE.

I Take that back, it matches the Curtis St site, don't know how I missed that. Then it really isn't clear to me where he's mapping unless the web version of Sensorly is behind. One more edit, I hate Sensorly for that!

That also means there are sites that that are not GMO's that won't be getting LTE, several inside the outerbelt. Uh oh!

Has anyone else noticed that pictures in Instagram and on The Chive app are now super low quality and very pixilated?  From what I am reading online it seems like Sprint is doing this on purpose during the transition to LTE???  I hope this is a short term thing because it is quite annoying.  All images are clear when I get on the apps from my home WiFi.

Not to sound sarcastic here but, you mean, you can actually use data??

Ha! Well played.  Is it better to have had data and lost it or never have data at all???

I'm pretty sure this isn't designed by Sprint. The issue you're seeing with pictures and more on Social Media has to due with the network not fully completing the upload or in your case, download with the highest quality. So it's missing a completed and refined image. This is occurring due to the site you're using at the time being over "normal" capacity on a site without sufficient backhaul. Once fiber is delivered, these issues should be a thing of the past.

It may in fact be a Sprint issue. There's a thread here on S4GRU about a similar issue (there may be multiple threads): http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4057-Reason-for-very-low-quality-images%2E%2E%3F/page__view__findpost__p__155786

It happens with Chrome too...once i get home on my WiFi everything is fine.  Unless I clear app data the pics i tried to access over 3G are still pixilated. It is pretty bizarre and I just noticed it these last couple days.  Really hoping it doesnt become an issue while the network is officially rolled out in Columbus.

Have you bypassed the RSTP & HTTPPD proxy servers yet? This might fix your problem.

Hello, quick question. I just noticed today after checking sensorly on both my phone, and the website, that there is LTE live less than a quarter mile from me. I can't connect. Anyone know why? I've connected to LTE before on my GS3 in Grove City. It connected immediately without my having to do anything.

So far I've; Updated PRL, restarted phone, Changed the connection type from CDMA back and forth to CDMA/LTE/EVDO, and toggled airplane mode multiple times. The best I have gotten was x800 with EVDO. The x800 would only stay for about 30 seconds after updating the PRL.

Hopefully someone can help me out. Being this close to the site, I should have no problem connecting at all.

Edit: Changed picture to more accurately show where I am trying to connect.

What is your current PRL? Have you tried updating your profile? Have you forced LTE-Only mode (usually #*#*4636*#*#)?
