  1. For sure, any word on development on Sensorly to incorporate the new API abilities?
  2. ok, so how many people have you seen experience this?
  3. ive yet to have one customer say this is happening. I have customers complain about everything under the sun but they somehow manage to omit the vomit inducing UI? No. Plenty that hate iOS 7 for sure. But none vomit. Just because they're upset about iOS 7 doesn't mean their stomach is.
  4. roght, except to have a solution to a problem (BS or not) you first need a problem. Parallax could increase battery drain, but certainly there is no illness there.
  5. No, it is not making anyone experience any nausea or vomiting. You may think it distasteful, but it's not making anyone sick.
  6. me too, it's painful. That being said, I have a 5S on the way. Also why is anyone arguing over any of these performance numbers anyway?
  7. the actual quote from the review most applicable to that is probably here: Sounds like you're in agreement with Anand then.
  8. There is a third option. Ignore the 600MHz auction and focus on the PCS H-Block auction. Let T-Mo have the 600MHz frequency. Focus on everything else you're cobbling together to make a new network rather than requiring a quad-band phone down the line to work on the full network.
  9. to some extent there is. A lot of it is buried in accessibility. You can't do much though other than disable the transparency and the 3D effect of the home screen. You can always invert colors though to get rid of the white.
  10. Yes, and it'll likely be worse this time since there are no online pre-orders. It's going to be brutal I'd bet. Particularly if the reported inventory numbers are anywhere near accurate.
  11. Out and it's pretty good. I too noticed the 1x badge and I appreciate the fact that we can get a bit more clarity on that than a dot for people. It's easier to explain at that point oddly enough. Good to see the signal dots aren't the only way to view signal strength. You can still keep tyour dBm rating if you had that enabled in Field Test mode. Sprint carrier version is now 15.0. PRL stayed the same for me (60797 on a 4S), FWIW. Anyone have any info on what they exactly change from carrier version to the next? Ex. 14.0 -> 15.0
  12. I'd recommend going to an Apple store if you can. They always seem to have tons of all of them.
  13. You mentioned Tulsa... lately when trying to make a call it's taken about a minute to actually initiate the call. This happens indoors in lower signal areas (where it didn't previously) and it even has happened outside in pretty good signal strength areas. This and the data speeds have been wildly inconsistent. Either half way decent, or not functional. It's a bit of a miss mash right now.... you don't really know what to expect. I'll say that I have been on more "Extended" (roaming) coverage over the past month though in places that I go all the time. Some work is definitely still going on. Pardon our dust, indeed.
  14. I think most iPhone users (and mobile phone users in general) don't care if it's the super-fastest internet ever, just as long as it's fast enough. Sprint 3G - Not fast enough. Sprint LTE - Fast enough. Clearwire LTE - Win. A similar scenario also applies to Verizon. EV-DO just isn't enough for people to say oh yeah this is good. They will just say well, it works, but.... at least it works. It's the vocal minority like us here that care about the difference between 6 Mbps and 25 Mbps. Joe Phone User doesn't, as long as it works fast enough. For them, I think 800MHz is going to be more important for coverage. The TDD-LTE 2.5/2.6GHz though is what's going to enable that 800MHz and 1900MHz to function properly for them long-term. Fat data pipes for the bit hogs in metro and densely populated areas (Stadiums, for example).
  15. I wouldn't. and while yes, MiFi devices are out, you certainly cannot make or receive calls with them. Those always come before phones. Fact is you cannot expect Apple of all people, who have NEVER lead the market with cellular tech adoption, to be first out of the gate with a Tri-band phone. The first iPhone didn't even support 3G. the 4S didn't support LTE.... it's pretty silly to expect them to support TDD-LTE on a band that one carrier in the US uses, and only for the past month or so has it even been launched.... in eight cities. I consider us to be fortunate (though I expected it) that they even support 800MHz LTE with how pitiful they've been at adoption of new tech. I mean the 5S doesn't even support 802.11ac. That's absurd. "Most forward-thinking phone" my ass. and lastly, I'm not offended that people aren't thrilled with everything about the 5S, it's just irritating listening to the whining about something "Missing" they had zero reason to believe would be in the cards in the first place.
  16. I had a Vision plan back in the day. Then they came out with EV-DO and associated data plans and I was granftathered in! woot! Then I got to watch NFL Network on my Treo all the freaking time. now THAT was a data plan! This navigation crap though.... with so many free options already, why is this even an issue? I mean hell, pay shipping and I'll send you a garmin lol
  17. For those all complaining, name one Tri-band LTE device that'll be out on Sprint before the 5S. I'll wait. We know of one device in the pipe confirmed to have Tri-Band LTE. It's out when? November? Not saying it isn't at some level disappointing, but hardly unexpected and it certainly is unfair to sit here and say it should have had it when no other device out around it will. I'll be upgrading from a 4S. Pretty obvious why. (everything). The 5 to 5S you could argue still there are valid reasons. What looks to be an improved camera. Twice as fast device. Slightly improved battery life. LTE 800MHz support, Fingerprint reader... I think the argument of 5 Vs 5S misses the reality that the vast majority of people upgrade once their two year agreement is over. If you got a 5, you won't be eligible until basically teh iPhone [next] rumors are rampant and it's about to be released.... at the earliest. By that time, it'll probably be a pretty significant upgrade again... just as the 4S -> 5S is. And every two phones back.
  18. I mean you have to ask yourself if it's a good investment for a company hemorrhaging cash to support a service that's no longer really relevant given that the two smartphone platforms that make up ~95% of the market both come with on-board GPS voice guided navigation - for free... that only consume data, which encourages folks to have data plans in the first place. so yeah, kill off every service that's duplicative like this. streamline your services operation.
  19. they freed all of it up already when they shut down the Nextel network. There is nothing else for them to free up. They have enough for a CDMA1X Advanced carrier and a 5x5 LTE carrier as well. There are some places where they have to do 3x3 but the majority is 5MHz. For their stated goal of a fallback from the higher frequency spectrum that's all they really need. It's not supposed to serve all of their customers all of the time like 1900 and 2.5. 1900 you can easily make the case that they need more. That's why the H block will be appealing and they have been acquiring some as well (See: US Cellular transaction).
  20. I don't see why everyone is jonesing for the 600Mhz spectrum for Sprint. That'd give them FOUR distinct bands to support... that's a lot. 800 is going to be fine for coverage as a fallback from both 2500 and thent he primary 1900Mhz PCS coverage. I definitely see them going after the H-block, but I've yet to see a good argument for them to add yet another band to their hodgepodge of a network at this stage. Give them two years to get this network vision deployment complete before we start dropping millions of dollars on more spectrum that quite frankly isn't needed. Let T-Mobile have it. They are desperate for some low freq. spectrum.
  21. I don't know that it offsets GDDR5 vs DDR3 RAM, no. However, it's a nice bonus I suppose, even though it's less than a 10% increase which you'll probably not really notice honestly.
  22. right. That's really the only benefit we would have gotten and that has a very subjective value associated with it. It would be better, yes. But data speeds I'm not sure would be any different whatsoever.
