Quote: "Beginning immediately, Kajeet will partner with school districts to trade-in unusable WiMAX devices obtained from other companies in exchange for Kajeet SmartSpot devices. Districts will need to confirm their service is on the WiMAX network with another company, and Kajeet will provide a new free SmartSpot for each received device, as well as low-price LTE service on the nation’s largest wireless network."

I am not alone I see; occuring chronically for the last year with no discernable pattern.
-
Unlikely in this case. Those are (usually) used short-term and have limited range. They are also usually used for voice, not data, so there wouldn't be a PCI since that is for LTE. As mikejeep mentioned, it's most likely an Android bug.
Many Stingrays have now received the Hailstorm update. Allowing them to port into the IP standard of traffic. They are then fronthauled to the tower itself through the LTE connection now.
No more messy separate connection.

I haven't had an HD call in months. I drive a Nexus 5, no WiFi calling, to several other S phones. S4, S5, and an N6. Hangouts is still crisp.
I do not often use 1x voice but it does not seem to be working as it is supposed to when I do.

Have we even selected a waveform for the next standard yet? Am I the only one asking this? This seems . . . to beat the punch. Sooooo I'm guessing this should fall under marketing.

Saw some tower work going on here in New Bern and heard rumor it was sprint updating EQ. Anyone know for sure?

Best bet is to get pics. The best camera is the one you have on you at the time
I have seen tuning and the addition of COW's but no GMO conversions or 2.5 work yet.

. Even the definition of 'BBQ' to people in Texas is different to those in Kansas City.
Srsly tho, when Bar B Que is brought up in my area they say "It is different here in South Carolina than it is in say, Yankee Carolina(Yikes!)" I am about 20 min from the state line. You will encounter multiple Cletii along the way serving pulled pork, but once you cross it the taste is nebulous to what the last fella was serving. Most likely at a readily available pork-n-boiled peanuts production shanty.

Like you said, if you're wife has att, wait til they finish and see if you can connect on her handset if your Sprint phone won't

I'm guessing that is a really tall site.So according to the links its an htc tower, I assume they are the ones up there if it sits alone.
I see many along 22 off north that are a dood deuce at least in height. There is a surprisingly decent amount of towers in our rural areas. Just that they need to be fortified/utilized. Looks like we are starting to see it right here. Great job finding a new build!
Man, imagine the difference in coverage, capacity even with just a regular dual band set up. Or even one of the lower cost 4 carrier triband antennas.
That would be sweet.

Upon activation of the update, all settings were set to off, including location in the android menu. Not sure what other android settings it reset but I'm having tons of fun figuring it out. Especially while taking advantage of my one chance to map the PR market for premièr level users. /s

Holy crapidad! I have never seen such high upload on Band 25. @conquistador/Fajardo. Got lots of pics. 3 sectors, each one has two other antenna next NV gear.
Not sure if sharing limited space w other carriers or just waiting for legacy removal.
If one was so inclined they might even be able to sneak away from there partner and grab some pics up close on the roof, but I think I'll just lean hard on the zoom factor on the cam.

What JimBob said, I get it in the elevator inside the brick building at my college, and that's just my phone. I use my mobile broadband device much more at the school since our WiFi is garbage.(tech school, go figure) and since it offers a much better bits/Hertz and wireless security is paramount to me.
As Robert said, chiggity check yo device before you wriggety wreck your network slice.

Simple, disable band 41 in your data/EPST settings until coverage is to your liking.

Don't these places have enterprise WiFi? I mean come on, a macro can do so much.

Also, holy crap burger king is everywhere here, in Myrtle we have 2 and they are to be avoided like a case of aidscancer. I did see one w a microwave dish attached, top lel.

Huehuehue disappeared from the MYR to come visit your beautiful market. Running logs like a beast if any of the contributors here get it together enough to start a map/tracking section in sponsor or premièr.
I am here for a few more days if anyone would like to take advantage of my experience and collaborate a little . . . I've built the buhjeebus out of my area map and the boss said I had some relief work to do so here we are.
I will be glad to contribute and get some pics. Other wise they will just go on my premièr map. I have to say even with the lush landscape you guys have a highly visible and accessible wireless infrastructure.
I doubt I will be setting up a day to drive around and just grab pics but I will get what I can. Have a great day everyone.

Here is an interesting story I read on the newly somewhat improved TmoNews :
An excerpt from the site :
"During 2014, T-Mobile got a total of 351,940 government requests for info on T-Mo and its customers. That includes 177,549 subpoenas, 97,440 emergency/911 calls, 34,913 court orders, 3,087 wiretap orders, 849 customer requests for their own info, and a total of 8 requests from foreign governments. To compare, Sprint got 308,937 requests, Verizon got 287,559, and AT&T got 263,755."
So, imagine the number if Sprint were to merge with T-Mobile. Hypothetically, if these numbers were the same in a year the two carriers were together, that number would have been 660,877 governmental requests.
That's a lot of government.

Hopefully some country on the planet currently using iDEN keeps using iDEN. I have used Nextel in Mexico, Brazil and Paraguay(...er in Encarnacion looking across at Argentina.)
I guess somehow I still think iDEN could have been developed into WIDEN and then further...
Even SouthernLinc is bidding Adieu to iDen in 2020.
Push to talk services are now available through Sprint, or many other roms available. Except nao, it is just done in a magnificently more efficient medium over data.
I don't have a lot of nostalgia of iden that was really positive other than it was deployed on a band that reached further than my voice or text service.

I have spotted 3 new cows in our market in as many months.
-
So I assume "previously had streaming video limitations" means they don't anymore?
Yeah this led me to believe they will now simply fall under the regular t's and c's regime.

I sent an email to Sprint regarding what plans were actually affected and which plans would actually be subject to change under the effects of these new changes, I received this.

You if you so choose, and are inclined to participate in mapping you're local network. What is a site hunter?

A lot of us here enjoy seeing the network transition. Meeting workers in the industry, getting up close to the hardware to better understand the network components, and collecting then aggregating data associated with the network and rollout.
All this on top of enjoying the networks new services, knowing where and usually when we should have a good signal, and for many of us learning about how it all works.
Yet another bonus is being on the edge of the tech rollout by actively participating. Many make maps, take pictures, capture video/screenshots/pics of how the network is loaded in some spots and others to compare where the network is and may be in the future.
Tl;Dr a few folks who constantly watch towers for work and document it to add to the knowledge herein S4gru's already accumulated data and efforts.
As usual the best camera is the one you have on you, be safe when spotting, and take your time since going back can be a pain to repeat.
So go get a camera, post what the network looks like and see you in the sponsor area hopefully

Gotta start somewhere.

This thread needs some active site hunters.

I was just out scoping Nextel sites to see if they still had gear up for pics. Funny to see this; mentioning I was hunting relics of the past.
