I'm a little surprised that none of you using sensorly in Cleveland to map out the recently fired up LTE tower there

Folks its going to be a VERY interesting month for the Columbus market. I have a very reliable source on when and what towers are going live this month providing the dates don't get pushed out for some reason.
Throw us a bone
Or two or three?

So what are we looking at this month?

I'm pretty excited watching this sensorly map being built up with 4G in Columbus. I'm thinking about doing some more mapping here shortly.

Who's mapping 161 just west of Linworth?
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I drove up that way last night to map it. I was determined to find out if there was a second tower live. I'm not convinced that there is another one. I did map everything from 161 to Henderson. Also mapped everything north of Morse except 71.

As I was mapping around the Bethel Road area, I noticed on SignalCheck Pro that my LTE signal would be far less weaker than my 1xRTT signal. I think the previous poster is correct when they say the LTE tower can be very far reaching. I drove all over that area to see if the signal for stronger but as you can see on Sensorly, it was weak all over that area.

Will SignalCheck Pro not suffice as verifying towers that you're connected to?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It does and it doesn't. I learned tonight that SignalCheck Pro WILL show you who you are connected to via 1xRTT... but may not necessarily be connected to the same tower with eHRPD or LTE. The screenshot shows that.

The accepted tower is not putting out LTE just yet

Darn. Keep us updated if you ever go by there again.
I'll drive by tomorrow and try forcing airplane mode and see if I can get anything...

That's pretty exciting stuff. Hopefully, they'll quickly roll out the rest is Central Ohio. In Reynoldsburg, my service is abysmal at best. Washington Court House, on the other hand, has pretty awesome service ever since they've done the upgrades down there. Hope to see 4G soon. I'll run some speed test and post them when I get to work in the A.M.

Sprint is trying to be funny. They keep sending out these news letters talking about LTE coming soon. In every city on Ohio except columbus. Dayton, Cleveland etc. Makes me so mad.
Don't think too much into that. The thing happened when 4G WIMax was brought here. Columbus wasn't on anyone's radar and them, blam! We were a 4G WiMax city out of no where. Even though we may not be on the elite list of cities that are getting LTE, we can all be confident enough to say we will have it very soon based off the ton of work being done in our market. This is Columbus. You should be used to this city not getting the credit or publicity it deserves...lol.

I'm not sure either...I do know this, however... it's very annoying.

I'm going to assume something is because my service from texting to data to voice severely declined today. I live in Reynoldsburg and work in Washington Court House. I'm am experiencing the same issues in both places as well as co-workers who have Sprint.

The 4G was pretty consistent in a building. However, I did happen to be a few feet away from the tower. Also, what I noticed was the further away from the tower, the slower the speed. I guess that is to be expected. I did not think to check 3G. Sorry about that.

Robert... When are you expecting Sprint to make their next announcement for the next round of cities?
-
I'm in Reynoldsburg but my phone read eHRPD all the way to Washington Court House. It went to eHRPD around 10 last night

I am now seeing EHRPD instead of EVDO-A in Central Ohio... is that anything to be excited about?
