  1.

It isn't, and the accusation that people looking to use their mobile broadband connection for multimedia consumption (which IMO represents the bulk of smartphone users) are vacuous morons, is a very interesting rationalization.

Well the thing is he is right in that regard. There's too many people bogging down the towers in my area. So much in fact that I can't even listen to some simple internet radio stations. But you're also right in saying that we've not seen enough upgrades in this area to compensate for it. I'm sure there were some upgrades here but only enough to keep things the same without improving it.

  2. First off I'd like to say that I'm very optimistic for the NV/LTE rollout. It's the main reason for sticking with Sprint and renewing my contract. With that out of the way its very difficult to not be frustrated with Sprint. Especially when for the last 3 years I've been stuck with .2 Mbps data speeds on 3g. So slow I can't even stream tunein radio reliably. So needless say me and I'm sure many other people are becoming increasingly impatient waiting for network upgrades that in a lot of cases we never receive, with little to no explanation from Sprint. And that's my gripe with Sprint, the lack of any explanation why. The only legitimate explanations I can ever find are from non affiliated sites like this one and others, which I appreciate greatly by the way.

I'm sure the incessant whining from people is getting annoying to a lot of you guys but the complaints aren't exactly baseless in some cases.

  3. I'm currently with sprint just replied to the comment about maybe if we paid our bills sprint would pay more attention. I left Us Cellular over a year ago to switch to sprint and have since then moved my family over also. As for the Knoxville never launching WiMAX I know it was never officially launched in Knoxville and that was my point. I can get my EVO 3D back out and drive out to west Knoxville and connect to WiMAX but west Knoxville was as far as it ever made it. I've been to Atlanta and used lte with my 4g lte and can't wait for it to make its way up. I drive for a living back and forth between Knox and Nashville and Knox and battlefield ga. So I'm here to try and help users in this area Knox when and where I find lte sites that are live.

I live in North Knoxville and I connect to WiMax quite well for the most part on my 3VO. Works well for a back up internet source for my home.

After seeing UT this season I'm considering it.

Anyways, back to topic. So why is it that Verizon can basically dominate this area while everyone else including AT&T which is the major phone company around here, continues to struggle. I'm assuming it's a technical reason and not a lack of trying.

  5. If they were smart they would launch some areas by the 12th of this month when us cellular launches their lte. Especially since they are offering unlimited data on lte and Verizon and AT&T just finished their lte launch here.

Yeah said something similar to that months ago, that at Sprints current rate of rollout, US Cellular would have LTE coverage here before Sprint. Which would just be sad.
