  1. Where I picked up the lte ( same place for a couple days) I nowhere near the site shown on the map.

Still looking in Nashville. Anyone we can talk to about leasing some of our tower? I will pm you with further details.

If you grab the Sensorly app from the Play Store you can see where LTE sites are active (or at least were active at one point). Nashville is still pretty sparse but if you feel like doing a bit of driving around town you could find the active sites and check em out.

  2. I have noticed that the GPS will auto enable at times. i assume that is a function of Google Now.

The trick to HTC Sense is to basically turn off everything you don't need. By default it seems Sense likes to have every process and account function running full throttle. IMO I like having things sync on demand rather than auto syncing in the background. Saves quite a bit of battery.

  3. I've also noticed in the last 2 days 3g is randomly dropping out and coming back and so is my signal in Knoxville. I'll go from full service to no bars and back and not be moving. I'm not sure if that's a sign of them working on the towers around here or if Knoxville is just having problems

Can anyone else confirm this? This happens to me several times a day. Not sure if its the network or just my phone.

  4. I think the best way to test it would be to take an evo lte and another lte phone and factory reset them both. Then take them to a place with no LTE at all. Next take them to a place with a weak lte signal. Then pay close attention to which connects first. Also note how long and how consistently they stay connected to the weak signal.

  5. A lot of this "new update fixing LTE" talk seems to be a lot of speculation. I mean how can you tell the difference between the update fixing things or maybe the network in your area was strengthened. A fix as big as this would not be omitted from the update notes as far as I would know. It seems like people are suffering a placebo effect from the newest update or perhaps wishful thinking.

  6. That's indeed the drill for a hard reset.. hoping to avoid it but looks like the only way! As a computer tech I always advised clients to do a Clean Install of Windows @ every six months. Normally cured all ills. Does the Titanium backup/restore work on non rooted phones. Thought it was just for rooted. I experienced the screen going dark as well, but a profile uupdate and a restart cured that. Thanks for the advice everyone!

It does require you to be rooted. If for nothing else I'd root just for titanium backup. It's a necessity for me.

  7. The previous tower I posted I confirmed today is a new nv site for sprint. Also here are the pictures of the site 2 roads down from me and the outside cabinets are new they were not there the last time I visited the site.

Seems like there's a lot more there than I've seen from other NV site pics. I wonder what's different.

Well I was wrong then. Maybe we should refrain from using smilies. Lol

  9. Anyone having issues with JB? It seems to force my email into landscape view regardless of how I hold my phone, and it's not running smooth either.

That seems uncharacteristic of the update. You might want to do a factory reset and start fresh.

I've actually noticed that too. I'll just completely lose 3g or drop from 3g to 1x. Not sure what the issue is.
