Just got mine. Activated no problem, LTE works and is better than my S4 which was better than my HTC One. Not by 20 dB, but by 5-10 (depending on the day and which device). It seems to pull data faster at the same signal levels as well.

 

I used Titanium Backup and have my apps installed and restored again. One important thing to note about TiBu is that if you change your runtime to ART it will crash on start. I don't know about other apps, but it definitely affected TiBu until I changed it back to Dalvik.

Did you update to 4.3 on the S4? It has seemed to help my phones handoffs and holding signal. But good to hear that the N5 is doing well.

You don't need to pay for a sim. The sim is free from Sprint.

I will just buy one. It will cost that much in gas to drive to get one I work all the time so I can get one there.

Had a customer come into my work today with a Nexus 5, I can't wait till I get mine. So all I have to do is buy a Sim card from my work and activate the phone through chat and it should work now? I ordered the 32gb model and I have a stack of Sims at my work and the one I'm using in my S4. The Sim is $3.65 with my discount.

Will be Sprint be offering the 32Gb as well if you plan on buying one from a Sprint store or is the 32GB version only from the Play Store?

I was able to get a micro sim from a returned S4 at a sprint store. The t chance said it's probably not going to work since it's probably it's to that account. Is that true? Any way around that?

 

 

Rest of longer story. So I went to a sprint repair place after calling to make sure they had a micro sim I could get. I get there and their story is that they don't have any that are not tied to a phone. I give them the SKU and they say that a store 30 mins away has 25 of them. So I call them up and they are clueless saying they don't sell them and can only replace one of its malfunctioning.

Yes you can't reuse a Sim that was activated in the past as far as I know.

Is that lte? I want to test T-Mobile in a few places and for 30 bucks I'd be willing to do it. Any one know how simple it would be to switch between sprint and T-Mobile and back again??

Not sure. But I will test it the day I get it 2-3 weeks with my Sim on Sprint and my girl's T-Mobile Sim.

I think they are around $30? Never scanned a Sprint one but I think most the other carriers are $30ish. I an scan one at work tomorrow. It was crazy at work today with the ipad air launch.

I have the same phone but I'm not expecting more than $15. Better to keep it as a backup.

Check trade in on BestBuy.Com I'm surprised at how much trade in we give on phones most of the time.

Bet you'll love getting those commissions from the accessories that the ipad buyers will get!

We don't make commission on sales, we do or can bonus off our profit margins as a group though. So yes we make nothing on the iPads and some on the accessories. Same thing with iPhones which is mostly what we sell at my store. Pretty much Samsung and iPhones are the only things we sell.

Yes 5% above cost. Usually on tablets and phones it's about the cost of tax for the discount in my experience, or nothing at all.

I figured November 8th would be the day Best Buy has it along with T-Mobile and Sprint. Just never heard a confirmation. I have my warehouse guys on the lookout for when they come and told them to notify me immediately. Lol.

Best Buy is getting it the 8th and getting their shipment around the 5th-8th. Seems most B&M places (including Sprint retail) are going to get theirs next week too.

Lol. Glad you know when my store will have it and I don't. Thanks. I just want to trade in my S4 + $50 for my trade in plus + My Best Buy certificates= less than $150 out of pocket for the 32gb version. Hopefully a unlocked version. I will just wait. November 8th is going to be crazy at Sprint stores though.

I do t know what to do. It seemed like a rip off but it's $200 cheaper than the Google Play 32gb version. Ugh. If Sprint finishes their lte deployment here ASAP I would be able to stream my music off the cloud which I can't do now. I think I'm going to get it. Crap. Why doesn't my store have their pre-order up yet? I think I'm going to wait for my work to get it in. Wait I don't even know if my store will get it! What to do, what to do.

I work at Best Buy Mobile and that is One of the first things I tell my customer. About $50, give or take, in tax of the full price of the phone.

Are you sure? Up until now all I've every heard or seen is that as long as you aren't adding lines past 4, or opening/merging accounts, you are able to keep your plan.

 

Maybe that's why the people have had more than 5 lines? We have 4 on my account and it says I have to go with the $50 plan. Not to mention that's too expensive for the 16gb version in my book. I work at Best Buy and it has made some people change plans, not sure why.

By the way when anyone upgrades their phone from now on you have to switch to the new plans. That started recently for any phones.
