I'm still debating between the black and the silver version. I'm waiting to see how the metal bands look with each.

Same here. I usually default to black, but am really looking forward to checking out the silver. Either way, I'm sure both will look great. I would also love to see both a light and dark metal option for the band. That would be pretty sweet.

I get that, but we need our fearless leader's thoughts on the competitors network!
Why?

I was just kidding about needing his thoughts.
Nickel humor.

You could try out the SignalCheck app made by one of our members here. It's a very powerful a d informative app, to say the least and @MikeJeep does a great job enhancing it.

SignalCheck Pro is awesome. So is LTE Discovery, which will also show what band you are on. +1 for both apps!

I had a note 2 and switched to the G2 to see if i would like the LG software... Love it so far....
And yes the size drop was a bit weird for me....so how is it vs the Note 2???
I am loving this phone and have gotten used to the smaller form factor. So far, I am also preferring the LG UI over Samsung's TouchWiz.
Versus the Note II, it's a no-brainer. There is just something awesome about having a device that is faster, sleeker, has twice the screen resolution on the same size display, and is triband!

Yes, the 51xxx series is the correct series for all tri-band LTE devices.
Hmm, my G3 is on PRL 55019. I just tried a PRL update, but it stayed put. Might be making a call into Sprint tomorrow, then.

AJ..do you ever "like" posts? ; o )
In my various wanderings throughout S4GRU, I have seen one, maybe two, WiWavelentgh "likes." I believe one may be lurking in the Really Bad Joke thread, but I may be mis-remembering.I've never seen a WiWavelength like. For me, it's the Aurora borealis of s4gru.
AJ's "likes" are out there, but are very few and far between.

6.6 inches on the mega...I could never use a phone that big.
Yeah, the Mega is about where I draw the line, personally...maybe even too large.

Anyone feel like the G3 is too big? Personally from what I have seen of the phone, I love the specs and the UI is very much improved. Just don't know if I could deal with the size.
Nope. If anything, it is almost too small for me. Then again, I came from the Note 2. I like how LG packed the same size display into a smaller form factor, but any smaller, and I might drop the damn thing.
That said, it's a great device, and I am loving the sleekness of the thin bezel. Definitely worth a trip to your local Sprint store to check it out.

Which color did you all choose? I want the Shine Gold, but Amazon will not have it for 2 to 4 weeks compared to 2-day delivery on the Metallic Black.
Shine gold and it's awesome. Great looking device.

Shine Gold here as well (see my avatar), and I love it. It's beautiful.

Here's the next question...does the G3 support "tap to pay" style NFC actions? My S5 did, and even had Paypal embedded, which was neat..
I could use the S5 on Paypass terminals...but I'm not sure on the g3...anyone know for certain?
Yep. I used my G3 to tap and pay yesterday with Google Wallet at a PayPass terminal. It worked perfectly.

Found it for ya: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5816-tdd-lte-2600-band-41-8t8r-map-discussion-thread/?p=330442
If memory serves, Sprint/Clearwire used the 3:2 ratio during testing, which could be what your Google search found.
When it comes to band 41 TDD LTE, I'd go with Tim over Google.
