  1. I bought mine on launch day too. Titanium Gray in Santa Fe, NM. Doesn't work on CDMA 800, and I've tested it on Ericsson, ALU and Samsung NV 800 signals.

It will connect to Channel 476. But it will not call out. Receive calls. Or SMS. If the 800 signal is weak, it will shunt me over to 1900 to make a call.

Hmm, mine is also Titanium Gray, but I didn't buy it until the end of December, 2012.

  2. I just recently started using custom PRL's again, and it seems that the 1X 800 is okay where I am. I haven't noticed any issues with it on my GN2 and it seems to hold on to the signal and not fall to 1900.

You must have lucked out, as well. My GN2 has never been able to make/receive calls or send/receive texts while on 1X800, only on 1900. :(

  3. Anyone know where or what app i can use to know what band im connected to?Sent from my LG-LS995 using Tapatalk

Not sure SignalCheck will show the LTE band, unfortunately.

You're better off with accessing your LTE Engineering screen: From the dialer, enter ##DEBUG# (or ##33284#), then select LTE Engineering. That should get you where you need to go. If that doesn't work, let us know and we can try something else. :)

Edit: Now that I think about it, SignalCheck Pro may get you there with its System Shortcuts feature. I know it works for the LG G2, at least. Don't see why it wouldn't work with the G Flex.

  4. Nice, post, bmoses. Congrats on the new toy! :D I'm going to try to make it to my local Sprint corporate store this weekend to check out this bad boy. Keep us posted with any findings and additional impressions! :tu:

  5. If someone wants to calculate the solar constant across one square foot -- roughly the footprint of a human being -- I propose that challenge.  I am curious to know what is the infrared/visible/ultraviolet "signal" strength in dBm.

Yeah, my degree is in Economics, so...challenge not accepted.

  6. My friend just posted her mini review / pics.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

She "even prefer the Note II over the G Flex?" Interesting... As far as screen resolution is concerned, I believe both devices have a 720 x 1280 display, so it will be interesting to compare the G Flex's "POLED" screen to the Note II's "Super HD AMOLED" screen. For me, the extra 0.05" of real estate and triband connectivity alone make the G Flex a very attractive option. I am definitely looking forward to checking it out once it hits the display shelves!

  7. I got a exclusive look at the flex today. My friend is a att manager and he let me play with it for a bit. First off the screen is gorgeous and the curve makes video look awesome. Thought it was a gimmick at first but i really like it. The colors obviously put the g2 to shame but the g2's camera took much better pics. For one it was more steady and the pics came out much sharper on the G2. But the sound damn impressive. It is louder than the nexus 5 and the G2 put together regardless of the speaker being on the back instead of the bottom. It was not tinny like the G2 at all and playing the same youtube video from my G2 and the flex I couldnt even hear the G2 thats how loud and great the speakers are on the flex. Its a big phone but doesnt look like it thanks to the curved screen. I didnt try a pocket test though. I like the G2 UI better but all and all I would like to use the flex as my daily driver.

Awesome. Thanks for the mini review! :tu:

I am definitely looking forward to checking out this phone once it hits the stores and will likely bite on this one. I could use some flexible triband goodness!

  8. I like the thought of a phone with a flexible plastic screen that will be much less likely to break.  I just wish it was a little smaller. Robert

The size may be a tad bit too big for me, but I won't know until I have it in hand. I could go for a phone larger than the Note 2, but the Mega was too big when I looked at that one. The LG G Flex might be just the right fit. Definitely like the more durable screen. I have dropped my phone on concrete floor twice over the past two weeks. I have lucked out so far, but it will be nice to have more peace of mind.

  9. I'm thinking about picking one up as well. The idea of a curved, flexible form factor is intriguing, so I will definitely be checking it out once it hits the stores.

  10. And now it appears that we have a launch date for Sprint: available online on Jan 31st and in store on Feb 7th. Sprint gets it first! :tu:
