How have any of you found the GPS performance/connections. Fast?

    Any issues?

My GPS has been flawless. It acquires signal almost instantly.

Same as Cary, flawless. Much better than the G2.

Same here. I haven't encountered a single issue with GPS on the G3.

  1. I will fix that.

Enjoy that #3 spot...for now. My monthly donation is still forthcoming, so we'll see where we land once the dust settles. :P

Also, thanks for your continued support of S4GRU. :tu:

Incoming $0.01 donation! Prepare to be trolled PDXmike!  :P

Hopefully it was more than $0.01.  ;)

  2. Well for me personally, when it comes to watches I value design more than anything. The metal watch band that suppose to be available soon looks like garbage compared to what was consistently shown in all the renders. I was willing to get the leather band and just find a suitable metal band but I am hearing that Motorola might have some type of propriety band where a standard watch band won't fit. The pathetic battery life I can live with as long as I can get 15 hours out of it no matter what being that I will charge it every night anyway. So me not getting it has more to do with the overall design of the product and not it's function plus Motorola took too long to release this anyway. Yesterday I was 100% yes on buying it but today it's about 50/50. I will check it out at best buy then make a final decision.

Makes sense. Ever since the leak on the Best Buy website, I have been planning to look at it in-store before pulling the trigger. I'm a big fan of form and build quality for watches as well, so if the Moto 360 doesn't do it for me, I'll go with a standard analog watch instead.

The fact that the metal band is not available on launch day is disappointing. To have to purchase it later on for an extra $79 may be a deal breaker.

Guess we'll just have to wait a bit longer. :fingers:

    Edit: Added quote.

  3. I've been reading reviews of poor battery life as well but I have a hard time believing that most of those are real world. From my understanding, only a very select few have had this device for any significant period of time. The few reviewers that have used it for weeks are reporting closer to 14 hours battery life. My suspicion is that most of these bloggers that just got their hands on it in the last few days have been using the heck out of the device since it is new and draining the battery faster than real world conditions. Time will tell. For $250 dollars I'm willing to be a guinea pig.

Exactly what I am thinking. Had it been over $250, I would likely pass.

  4. Ok, so the moto 360 will be available starting today, who's getting one?  After coming to my senses, I don't think I will be getting one.

I'm still planning on getting one. I am in need of a new watch, and have been wanting to make it a smartwatch. The other available smartwatches haven't really interested me, so I have been holding out for the Moto 360.

If you don't mind my asking, what made you change your mind?

  5. Sorry anthony.spina97, aackman did not take getting bumped off very well. He made another donation and moved back up on the list, knocking you off. Of course, you're welcome to make a donation again and bump someone else off.

    Robert

PDXmike made another donation and is now back in the #2 spot.

    Robert

With donations today, there have been some more changes in the Top 25 standings:

    • bakedc4 has moved up to the #2 position
    • KD8JBF has joined the list and bumped off yuhfhrh (who did indeed walk the plank)
    Thanks for all your support!

    Robert

And now to win the lottery so I can surpass AJ

Love it. This is why the Honored Premier Sponsor idea was a brilliant one. A little competition works wonders!

    Keep it up, all! :tu:

Edit: Oh, and congrats to bakedc4. Enjoy the #2 spot...while it lasts. ;)

  6. I so much wanted the Note 3 but with it not being tri-band I had to settle on the Mega. I'm so looking forward to the Galaxy Note 4.

Same here, though in my case, I left Samsung for the G3. I am liking it so much that I will probably pass on the Note 4. Still, I am really looking forward to the Note 4. It will be awfully hard to resist once I see it at my local Sprint store...  ;)

Hey is it me or does the audio jack seem quiet???

my note 2 i had to keep it at 75% or so because it would blast me out....

    this one...all the way up....

plugged it into a speaker and its just quieter.....

I've noticed this as well. A few weeks back, I bought a new pair of Bose SoundTrue headphones,  cranked the volume on my G3 all the way up to test them out, and was a bit disappointed. The max volume on my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is much better.

So far, this is the only complaint I have about the G3, and for me, it's a very minor one.  :)

  7. I've caught up with logging donations since the first week of the month.  Here are some changes:

    • ohdevilguy has bumped PDXmike and bakedc4 and is now in the #2 spot!
    • mooeydj has moved up to the #5 spot
    • lynyrd65 moved up ten places to #9
    • squigey has jumped on the list and is now #22
    • anthony.spina97 is now on the list at spot #25
    • aackman and stormchaser68 were bumped off the bottom of the list (but get to retain their Honored Premier Sponsor title)

    Thank for all your support!

    Robert

Only had a quick second to "like" this post earlier today. Congrats to ohdevilguy on snagging the #2 spot. Your continued support, and the support of our other Honored Premier and Premier Sponsors, is appreciated. :tu:

  8. Thanks for the link. You're correct, this is where I got the 3:2.

I didn't say I didn't trust Tim - I just don't appreciate the nasty attitude. It is rude and goes against what this site is all about.

Oh, I know. I just put that last line in to lighten the mood.
