  1. I'm with Robert on this. It is much better to know the data you're sharing is completely accurate; relying on user reports to confirm 800 acceptance isn't the best idea. It would be very easy for someone with good intentions and a reasonable amount of technical knowledge to think they are connected to a certain site on 800 and be mistaken. Pictures don't mean much; even if there is something 800-specific that could be spotted, nobody is debating that the equipment is there.. it was installed at the same time all the other stuff was. And of course, just because a site is broadcasting something at that moment doesn't mean it bas been accepted. Lots of variables!

But see, if someone posts pics of a tower with the ID and it broadcasting 800SMR and a month later. Posts an update and it's still live. I think that is credible enough. But I understand  the whole process.

  2. Nope.  Wireless technology is not magic.  It cannot solve all problems, and there is no such thing as a free lunch.  You were practically just out of diapers when I was in college and started using nascent wireless data services in the year 2000.  Max speeds on IS-95 CSD were 14.4 kbps, but it was just as consistent and robust as voice.  Now, we have data speeds 1000x that, but the price we pay is less coverage and a more fragile airlink.  That is the tradeoff.

I know that. But things will get better over time as they always seem to even through problems. Breakthroughs  happen all the time.

  3. The numbers mean essentially nothing.  They are all relative.

But a less robust airlink is the price you pay for faster data rates.

the numbers don't, but the speeds do.  I'd rather pay for something I can count on than something that you can hardly count on. There shouldn't be "a less robust airlink is the price you pay for faster data rates." It should be equal with the type of technology and hardware that is being deployed. But i love it lol

  4. CDMA1X is measured via RSSI.  LTE is measured via RSRP.  The two measurements are not exactly comparable.

Ah a article written by you lol. But it'd be nice if the RSRP could at least match the RSSI strength wise. It sucks to see that 3G can reach so far, but 4G doesn't go AS far. On the same frequency. But I know things will just get better as time goes on

  5. We've heard from very credible sources about another Samsung Triband device coming other than the Note 3. It seems highly likely it would be the S4 Triband.

I would shit brix if both note 2 and GS4 were updated with triband. But I doubt the note 2. But there's like 1% lol. But thanks for the awesome news. I can't wait, my family down in HN is holding out on the triband GS4 :)

  6. Whoa! Is there something you haven't told us? Uh.

And I'm the FCC OET reporter. I'm keeping a good eye on it all the time. I'm not going to keep any of you out of the loop. I promise.
