  1. I know this is the LA market thread, but just let y'all know the first blips 4G LTE have hit San Diego. I know there's a lot of people from LA that come to San Diego, so I thought I'd pass the info and leave it at that.

    +1

I would love to have LTE at Angels games. I can tether my tablet to my phone for Netflix for my kids when they are bored.

I would want it so I can see replays that the stadium video board doesn't show courtesy of Slingbox. Either that or tell Arte Moreno to send some money on some WiFi installation like they do at PETCO Park in San Diego.

  3. EASTLAKE

Gotta remember, the San Diego market isn't even launched yet. It's possible that LTE was there in & around the Albertsons in Eastlake near the State Route 125 Toll Road and Proctor Valley Road and the went away. We're in that testing phase right now where 4G LTE is threre some days & non existent on others.

  4. Recorded a purple 4G LTE dot, right at Carmel Mountain Road and I-15 on Sensorly. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a speedtest because it was brief. It was worth the detour. I started in Del Mar, went through Fairbanks Ranch, then 4S Ranch, through Camino Del Norte, made a left onto Bernardo Center Drive, then a right onto Paseo Luicdo which then turned into Carmel Mountain Road. Then I got some Costco gelato at the food court, then headed back home to Scripps Ranch (far East end of Mira Mesa Blvd). It wasn't until I hit the overpass that crosses I-15 on Carmel Mountain Road that I hit 4G LTE. It's not much but this makes me excited and very happy that I reupped for another 2 years with Sprint back in September!

  5. All this LTE action in La Jolla and Santee, and not one blip on Sensorly. The New Orleans and Austin members would have had four cars mapping each site in an hour. :(

I'm counting on all you San Diegans who said that when LTE started going live in your market, you'd be all over it. Where'd you guys all go?

Don't worry Robert, I'll take a slight detour on my way home today through Rancho Bernardo this afternoon between 3-4pm PT and tomorrow around the same time I'll detour through La Jolla.

  6. Somebody just posted over on Sprint's forums that they are getting LTE in the Carmel Mtn area.

Got a link for that? I'm curious to know where in Carmel Mountain it is. I live in Scripps Ranch, so it's only 10 minutes away

  7. I know exactly where that is. On my next day off which wouldn't be until the weekend at the earliest, I'll try to capture that on Sensorly, unless somebody from the South Bay is reading this and able to get to it before I can. Unfortunately from what I understand, Sensorly can't upload information about the status of 3G/4G networks from the iPhone.

  8. I had the same thing happen to me in San Diego (specially Del Mar), where I was roaming in otherwise what was an area with native Sprint coverage. It lasted nearly about a week to 10 days and then eHRPD appeared. This was done in about November. It might be a sign of good things to come.

  9. Honestly, as much as I want 4G here in San Diego, I don't mind them getting the 3G upgraded first. As of now 3G seems to do better when comes to streaming video like Netflix at high rates of speed while in the car (sitting as a passenger of course).

  10. 3G unusually bad in Del Mar today (15th St & Camino Del Mar). Haven't seen speeds like this in a long time. At least where I work, the WiFi has improved, so data isn't much of an issue (for me anyways) plus our cold weather has gone away. It's a beautiful and 66° esupy5uq.jpgpymymaqy.jpg

  11. I've recently received 25 more In Progress sites to add for the San Diego market. I will do that the next time I get a chance. Out to dinner with the family tonight.

Robert, when a site has been accepted does that mean LTE is coming to those sites soon?

  12. its up the street from the walmart on grape st. between railroad cayon and bundy canyon.

the address is on the bottom picture.

I know exactly where that is. I'm assuming that's the tower closest to Storm Stadium/The Diamond. If that's the case, that tower is in need of some desperate work as get horrible latency and speeds of about 0 to 50kb/s
