I just got a S20 FE with TNX and I commonly will grab Sprint B41 in Lake City right near I-75 and Hwy 90 and also by I-75 at Ellisville. However it only seems to connect to a single carrier where my Legacy Sprint V40 will grab 2 or 3 so I get faster download Speeds on My Sprint Device. There is a T-Mobile site with N71 a mile and a half away from that site, but my TNX phone will prefer the Sprint B41 when it has a good signal strength.
I was definitely at the light coming off of I-75 to get onto highway 90. I noticed that I had a full bars so I was curious as to what band I was connected to....sure enough it was B41!

Saw B41 for the first time since being on TNX. Surprisingly, it was in Lake City, FL. I was at a red light...didn’t think to do a Speedtest.

Just got 109 down, and 39 up on B66. I’m in Lake City, FL. Also I’m on TNX.

I was able to add TNX to my account last night. Got an R15 SIM card from T-Mobile, then had a sprint rep activate it before inserting into my phone. I was able to add my watch also even though it’s not paid in full.

In areas where I used to roam on AT&T, I’ve been seeing extended LTE. I opened the field test, and saw that I was on band 5. Maybe they removed the AT&T alpha tag?

I was unsuccessful at getting the TMX. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and everything was well until they saw that I owe on my Apple Watch. So until I pay it off it’s a no go.

Supposedly the T-Mobile Network Experience is available nationwide now at stores. Anyone jumping primary networks?
It’s available in Gainesville, fl. I’m going by after work.

I'm down to switch over asap, officially anyway as I am already full time on T-Mobile.
According to him people who are on the Sprint network will be able to get what they’re calling a 3-in-1 SIM card if the phone, plan, and coverage checks out good. This will allow the TME. Bills, and things like that will remain through the my sprint app. Plans remain the same also. Right now it’s only available in Seattle and Kansas City.

It seems like they've got a multi-pronged strategy, at least from what we can observe, with many of these things happening in parallel:
- (Pre-Merger) Roaming agreement for Sprint subscribers to use the T-Mobile network when Sprint isn't available
- Implement the ROAMAHOME SOC for certain Sprint subscribers to use the T-Mobile network as primary
- Network integration: decommission Sprint 5G, begin to refarm 2.5GHz spectrum for T-Mobile 5G and LTE, similarly begin to reallocate PCS spectrum from Sprint to T-Mobile in markets where spectrum is contiguous. Additionally, it appears they're working on a "hybrid" of the two networks, currently with the 311-490 PLMN, that will handoff between the two legacy networks, but that does not appear to be the default network for subscribers yet. Eventually the tower work will be done to harmonize spectrum and radio assets, that's going to take some time.
- Begin SIM-swapping eligible and willing Sprint customers to T-Mobile, currently happening in Seattle and Kansas City: https://www.sprint.com/en/support/solutions/device/t-mobile-network-experience.html
There are a lot of moving parts to this, and they have to execute them carefully. From the looks of things, they're moving too aggressively on #2, and not quickly enough on #3. I imagine #4 is going to continue to roll out and will become the default for new lines and handset upgrades (especially to 5G) on Sprint accounts.
Found out that a guy I met in college 14 years ago is the store manager at a converted Sprint store. He told me that they should begin swapping SIM cards for the TME on the 7th. Idk how true this is though. Located in Florida.

Speeds before/after??
Didn’t do a Speed test. If I’m still on B12 I’ll try to get one.

Welcome to RAMAHOME-land.
Not sure I have it. I called CS and they said it’s not available for me. Not sure why I’m seeing B12. iPhone 8+ if that helps any.

Might be off topic, but usually at home I’m latched onto B26. Today for the first time I’ve been connected to B12.

I was there last week by the college and all of downtown. No 5G at all. Meanwhile in Ocala they have turned on five 5G towers already.
That’s good to know. Im sure they’ll make their way up soon.

Yes, you’re a smaller metro that’s similar to Rochester in size. I wouldn’t be surprised if New T-Mobile targets small metros/cities that have multiple colleges/universities as college kids will be trying to save $$$ while wanting a popular device.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThat definitely makes sense. I hope they are upgrading the area.

I got the email here north of Detroit, yesterday.... It's not just "Apple" devices ... i have an Android phone. City-by-city... network conversions continue. Has nothing to do with your phone. My device is still favoring and staying on Sprint's signals.. so I'm not ever sure that email means anything.
You’re most likely correct. I’m still on the Sprint network too. I haven’t roamed on T-mobile at all. Only once back around November in east Gainesville.

Gainesville, FL?

I got the same e-mail this morning. I have an iPhone 8plus.

I’ve only latched onto the T-Mobile network once. That was around November. I locked onto B2 for a little bit. Then when I left that area my phone started showing B25. Normally I would be on 3G, 1x, or barely useable B26 in that area. I noticed that Instagram was loading really fast. I did a field test and realized that I was on B2.

I know I won’t ever have B71. It wasn’t supported until the XS as far as iPhones go. That wasn’t what I was trying to get at. I was just asking if there was going to be an OTA update that would prioritize the T-mobile network, and the LTE bands that they have. Just curious because the only news about updates going out have been about 5G devices previously released by Sprint.

Does anyone know if T-Mobile will be sending out OTA updates for iPhone users? I have an 8 plus. I’m only missing B71.

I have seen my TAC as both 326323 and 64003. Idk which TAC belongs to which company. Help?

After the merger closes, and updates are sent out...will our phones still display Sprint as the carrier, or will it display T-Mobile?
