  1. In some way, I agree. I like information. Lots of it. And all the nerdy details. Don't hold anything back.

But, when you look back at all major upgrades from the other carriers, they don't provide those kinds of details. The best you will get is...'this is what our over inflated coverage map will look like at the end of the year.' I suppose Sprint could do that. But they aren't really planning expansion. This is about densification and in footprint infill. Which really only can be measured by performance after the fact.

I agree... Verizon never talks about upgrades until they are done same with t mobile and at&t... but since sprint is a bit more behind people are more pushy to find out.

  2. In all honesty this is Sprint's fault. By being mum on it's NGN work plans and failing to increase capital expenditure guidance, sprint force the media and industry analysis to talk to tower companies, vendor partners and others, who probably only have parts of sprint's plans, in order to piece together what is going on. Sprint created the environment for this kind of speculation.

  3. I read a vendors post on the Sprint subreddit. Sprint usually has an SLA now for two weeks from when the permit is approved. I would say this supports my observations near me. A local legacy site got upgraded near me and it was up and running B25 after a week when the permit was approved.

Wow! So sprint is going at a very fast pace?

  4. The only thing they really can do is refarm Edge to B2 LTE for additional capacity. I'd have to look up how much PCS T-Mobile has in NYC, though. I agree that Sprint's capacity plans are golden for now. I would personally like Sprint to announce their 5G plans soon.

It read in an article that sprint could mimic 5G speeds with opening all of there carrier aggregation pipes...any truth to this?

  5. Sprint extended it because it was working. And not every one of those customers ultimately chooses the 50% off plan from the offer page or when in the store. It starts a conversation and gets people in the store or on the website. Some of those customers wind up choosing the $70/month Unlimited Plan instead ($60 for each additional line if they want to add friends/family to it), which isn't discounted.

So do you think they will continue to offer it?
