  1. Ill be honest, its going to be a 10x10 (5x5 in all likelyhood) sliver at best, plus extremely overpriced. Not to mention the fact that it would take at least 4 years before you can really deploy it properly.

I just don't see it as a viable option for Sprint. If they have found a easy way to leverage wireless backhaul plus C-RAN, I can see them densifying in lower population areas faster and more cost effective.

Maybe it's cheaper if they buy in the suburbs and rural areas. They probably won't need it in Metro areas anyway.

  2. Assurion handles the insurance for all of the major carriers, so they are kind of the only game in town if you want a carrier based insurance solution. But hey at least you don't have to pay off you phone and buy a new one.

True for lost, stolen and total damage but paying full deductible for screen damage is bull. They are receiving a functional device.

  3. I just want to say Assurion sucks. I wish Sprint had a different option for insurance. I have best buy on my G4 ( haven't used it yet) but my other line still has Assurion. Made a claim Sept 11 and I'm still waiting for approval. I even called Sprint even though it wasn't their fault they gave me a credit anyway. It really shouldn't take a week for a replacement.

There's more to add but I don't want too long of a rant.

  4. That's far from a set plan at this point. We still don't know how the FCC will rule on this. As someone who lives out of Sprint territory but not T-Mobile territory, I support the LAA strategy, but even still, that might get passed quickly if 5G development is accelerated.

I was referring to comments on this article by a troll. 2.5 looks pretty good now. Even AT&T is going to use 2.3 for LTE soon.

  5. I know people on certain forums who always felt that Clearwire and Sprint wasted that spectrum. I don't think that logic is new.

However... I'll just leave this here for the next Magentan who thinks "wet bag paper".

Funny how close this became to reality. Funny how people forget that. Lots of people on that side just don't have the courage of convictions to say "damn we wish we had a chunk of that." Soon enough they'll be saying it.

I think they believe unlicensed spectrum is the way to go now.

  6. So John is going to send letters to the other three carriers about abolishing overages

I say don't try to fix too much cause that will hurt your business. Your nitch is not charging people for going over their data. Now if AT&T,Verizon and Sprint does this then what will set T-mobile apart? People will probably just go back to their old carrier if that's the case.

True this would help the competition please their customers and then John can take credit for changing other carriers. Either way I would welcome getting rid of overages and just dropping to 3g.

  7. So deployment already started? I'm not sure higher speeds is what sprint really needed. Their lte was not bad although t-mobile I think is better. Does sprint really control much frequency in PR? Does t-mobile control more?

Try this. Just select Puerto Rico. Hope that helps.

  8. Great. I know PR is not a major market but Marcelo stated he wants to expand in Latin America and PR can lead the way. Triband would elevate Sprint 1 or 2 here. Only AT&T would compete because of its 700 mhz. Tmobile may deploy wideband here ( not sure if they plan too) but they dont have any lowband license here so they will get passed.
