I just charged my device nearly to full and less than 3 hours after charging, I've done some light usage, and even tried rebooting, but man my phone is eating up the battery:
Is there a way I can stop "Android OS" from killing my battery off so quickly?

uninstalled recent apps came up no problem.

Thanks. I'll just keep Google Search installed on my device so it doesn't crash System UI, no biggie.

Just an fyi I have Google search installed and no hick ups yet. At 40 % with 7 hrs of heavy use .....cant seem to put it down :-)

Now try uninstalling Google Search and then bring up your recent apps... does System UI crash or can you pull it up and the Google Search icon in the center be disabled?
-
Okay, I've backed up my data, formatted the data partition and it seems to work:
Now if I restore my data partition, it'll crash System UI. I noticed though, with the Google Search icon, it changes when Google Search is reinstalled.
I'm not sure if it's something to do to matching Kitkat or something?

I have Google search from the play store installed

Have you tried uninstalling Google Search and then trying to pull up recent apps? Does it crash or not?
-
Might have to get one of you guys to backup your data partition, wipe it, and test the recent apps button without Google Search to make sure.
I don't mind. Let me know what you want me to do.

I have Season Zen HD, Snow Stars Full, and Under the Sea Live Wallpaper (free) installed. All three crash when attempting to open them.
I've got a Logcat, I'll PM it to you.
-
I'm getting another crash. I just installed two live wallpapers and when I try to customize it, it says that the "Live wallpaper picker has stopped." This error message happens with both that were installed.
-
See how it is grayed out?
I do.
Need to see if Jefbal99 installed Google Search or not. If not, then might be something I did?
-
Do a Logcat of the crash.. Do either of you have Google Search from the play store installed?
I didn't have it installed until you mentioned it. Installed it and now my recent apps work fine.

Anyone else having an issue when holding down the Home button to pull up your recently used apps and SystemUI crashing? Does it every time I try.

The only setback I had was that I temporarily lost root after a reboot (I had been restoring apps, etc through Titanium Backup). The only fix was to reflash the ROM over the installation and when I went back to SuperSU, it prompted me to update binary, so I chose through to do it through recovery. Since then, it's been working perfectly fine. Still trying to get all my apps restored through Titanium Backup, and so far, it hasn't done it again.

First impressions?
Been running 4.3 since day one, and I'll say it's very responsive compared to stock. I'm really noticing it when doing Play Store installations. Most of the time it would just hang there or I'd get error messages, etc, but now with this ROM, it's FAST. Loving it so far!

I will start working on getting my phone to pure 4.3, give me about an hour
Just want to make sure my steps are correct, ODIN the SPH-L900_MK4_Full Restore_UNROOTED (Compressed Archive).exe from rwilco12's repo then ODIN TWRP 2.6.3.1?
Hmm, I ran this thinking it would wipe my phone, but it didn't.
-
so if we are running digis now....will this rom install 4.3???
You'll need to be running stock 4.3 (wiped clean recommended; dirty upgrade not supported), be rooted, and have a custom recovery installed. digiROM will install over the installation. The installation will get "digi-fied" with all the tweaks and such that we've been previously accustomed with.

Oh boy, can't wait! I've got my phone all backed up and ready for wiping and flashing. Bring it on!

Samsung told Engadget that the US isn't expecting a release at all... only for select regions/countries:

This works as long as you pay attention: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769
Hmm, not sure what I did wrong, but it soft bricked my phone. Oh well, back to stock 4.3 for me. I think it's best I try not mess around with this anymore until digiROM 4.3 comes out.

I think you have to use Odin.
Well if that's the case I'll give it go later on this evening. I was trying to flash back to 4.1.2 with those One click.exe bundles and when it get to flashing the bootloader it said it had failed and I'd be left with a soft bricked phone. At least it's not the end of the world should it do it again, but man it's a pain.

It's recommended that you need to get back to stock 4.1.2 and OTA to 4.3 first.
How can you go back to 4.1.2? I tried doing that and it nearly bricked my phone. I do have the new bootloader and when I tried to flash back, it said it failed and I ended up having to do an emergency restore through Kies.

hey can you add the wanam to your note 2 rom???
there are a few cool things on there
Install Xposed Installer (from XDA) then download Wanam Xposed from Google Play Store.

4. Download the KNOX remover script 1.0 (don't worry it's universal for the S3/S4/Note2): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507931
I'm now more curious to try out the DE-SAMSUNGNISER script this developer has. You may not be doing digiROM for the Note 2, but this might be the next best thing to slimming down the ROM and getting rid of the crap. Still won't have the other fixes and tweaks you normally do, but I've managed all this time without them and Wanam Xposed has helped with some of it. Wish there was an easy way to get the 1x fix for the signal bar is all.

So knox doesn't keep it from rooting? Ok I will go jump on the YouTube guy that showed me how to root my note and give it a whirl
Probably the best and easiest method for root is to use Kingo Android Root. You basically plug in the phone, launch the program on the computer, and follow the wizard. Once it starts the rooting process, it'll do everything for you, and should only take 5-10min to finish.

digiblur ROM 2014.01.23 [Note2] [MK4]

Another issue that has come up as of late is that I keep losing root. I've tried reinstalling the ROM 3 times now, and it gets restored, but for whatever reason, after a random reboot, I let it fully load up and open up SuperSU and it complains that the binary isn't installed. Other than reinstalling the ROM, sometimes I can get root to restore itself by rebooting multiple times (sometimes 3-5 times). I've also tried booting into TWRP recovery to see if it'll restore root, but it never prompts to restore root. Any ideas?
