  1. What does a site need to achieve to be listed as 4G accepted by Sprint. Slightly off topic, is there a place on these boards to discuss this: http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/14/3503246/softbank-buys-sprint-20-billion That will hit the media wire in the morning.
  2. I've been getting faster upload speeds than download speeds on the North Side, but the signal has been rather weak.
  3. I didn't think it was possible, but the 3G coverage has gotten worse as they flip on LTE on the North Side. I am averaging no data connection in Old Town and Lincoln Park while in the train. Hopefully this means we are in the final NV upgrades around here.
  4. I spent some time this afternoon with Sensorly on the North side. The map looks to be updated. Odd thing, I was not able to get the signal at street level, mainly when I was on the Red Line. I was seeing signal strength between -90 and -100 with the highest speeds around 12. Mostly I was getting about 4-5 but that was even at full speed on the train. Stark contrast to the 0.00 I saw at the Fullerton stop.
  5. How will the NV upgrade impact crowded areas? I'm thinking Wrigleyville during a game, downtown in the Loop during lunch, going to to a Bears game, going to a concert in Tinley Park, going to the Air and Water show, etc. I'm especially concerned about the Lakeview area since I tend to lose 100% of my phone service anytime something big happens on Clark. Speaking of that area, there must be work going on on the near north side. It's nearly a full deadzone from the Loop up to the south end of Lincoln Park. edit: Anyone know what "Sprint Extension" is on the Galaxy Nexus?
  6. Multiple reports of LTE in the city! Finally! I live in the Lakeview/Wrigley area and take the Brown Line every day. Something changed this week as I finally was getting a 3G signal most of the way into the Loop. The picture below was taken from Old Town down to the River and is a 100% improvement on what I have been getting for the entire year. It's not in this picture, but at one point during lunch near City Hall I broke 1Mbps! The next month or two of improvements are well welcomed.
