Would Magic Box help?
Not sure. They don’t have Internet there.

I’m strongly considering Xfinity Mobile when my Sprint lease ends in March. Verizon seems to be the only carrier with good performance at our family farm.

The iPhone X looks cool but I'm not a fan of the notch. I'm looking forward to the AR possibilities.
Here's what Apple's website says about cellular bands for the Sprint model:
- FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 66)
- TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41)
- TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A)
- CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
- UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
- GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

Probably don't need this to be a stickied thread anymore.

I'm conflicted on the Apple Watch I want one but I'm not sure if I should get the new one or the old one.

If you need waterproof or GPS, get the new one.

It depends on what carrier you have. Sprint doesn't support that feature, I know AT&T & T-MO do though.
Yeah that's the feature I miss the most from my T-Mobile days.

I was really hoping I could finally use data while on the phone. Nope.

Considering how few new topics happen on S4GRU anyway, a thread specifically for speedtests should be fine.
It should be fine in any Android subforum too. I get the desire to keep speedtests out of other discussion threads, but isolated to their own thread should be ok.

Just finished setting up my new iPhone 7 Black 128 GB. Going to take some time to get used to the new Home button.
Since I'm on a lease, I liked that I could buy Apple Care through Sprint and save a trip to the retail Apple Store to buy it. That was a nice change from last time.
-
Yay got a tracking number for my iPhone 7 today.

Anyone use YouMail that can test to see if that works now with WiFi calling?
-
Will there be a S4GRU wall blog on the technology in the new devices?

I ordered an iPhone 7 today, but the order status page still shows nothing. Has it been updated for anyone else? I just want to make sure it went through ok.

The Sprint version of the iPhone 6 lacks band 12 support, but other than that, it should operate perfectly fine on T-Mobile's network. As long as you fully own the device (no contract or easy pay/lease on the device) then you should have no problems getting it unlocked by Sprint, either.

The lease comes up in August with a buyout option. So when I buy that out I should be able to get it unlocked at the same time, right?

I have an iPhone 6 with Sprint, and plan on upgrading to the iPhone 7 when it comes out. If my wife uses my old iPhone but is on T-Mobile, will she miss out on any LTE bands from that network? Would I have any issues with getting Sprint to unlock my old iPhone?

If they drop the headphone port, they better make the thing waterproof, especially now that there's rumors that the home button will use force touch.

I use iMessage a lot, and am looking forward to the improvements.
I like the delivery/received confirmations, being able to see when the other person is typing, etc. (similar to Blackberry) I also like that I can within the app send my current location or share it for a specified period of time with another iOS user. Handy when meeting up with friends so you don't have to keep asking where they're at. Pictures send immediately (and I get confirmation) instead of dealing with the whims of MMS, which sucks on Sprint. iMessage's most important feature for me is being able to create and reply to messages from any of my devices. Send a message from my iPhone or iPad ,and then when I get to my desk get replies on my iMac. I'm looking forward to the weblink previews, larger emoji, etc.

Lol I think it's because Sprint is finally basically fully saturated with LTE, at least here in NY. So people have stopped questioning and complaining about when they're gonna get it because they should have some form of LTE already. Whether it be B25/26 or 41.
This good to hear that everyone is doing good with their tech and what not, just checking up to see what was happening. Definitely getting the 6s Plus next month when they start restocking all models for the holidays. Can't wait!

It works great for me in Houston, but the coverage outside the city isn't great yet. They haven't finished those areas yet, though.

Lol this forum is so dead now. People must've gotten really busy with school and work and stuff.
I don't come by here as often as I used to because the site doesn't get map updates like they used to.

FYI, the latest update to RootMetrics allows background collection. I won't be able to try that feature out until the weekend.

As an iPad Air 2 user, I love the new multitasking abilities. I just need more apps to take advantage of it. It's ridiculous that MS Office apps have full support and Apple iWork apps do not.

New unlocked phone every year and it includes AppleCare. Thoughts?

Does the iOS Sensorly do multiple speed tests? The Map Drive looks like it only does signal coverage. I like that RootMetrics can do 21 tests in a row for when driving.
