Just want to make sure you don't think we're picking on you here, just trying to figure out what tower you were looking at. I don't see any street names that begin with an "A" between Simms and Kip on either side within a few hundred feet. The only apartments I see are on the south side of 285 just west of Kip. In fact, there are no Sprint towers within about a mile of 285 between Simms and Kipling. Are you sure you were on 285 and not Alameda or Morrison (highway 8) maybe? If you are 100% positive you were, then it was probably an AT&T or T-Mo tower. 

Move to Denver. Feel the LTE love. Problem solved, no more repetitive questions. Win win for everyone.

I don't think that's the tower at Highway 52 giving you the love. Looking at your Sensorly info, it looks like it's the tower north of there, halfway between 52 and 119. Once the maps are updated, we'll be able to tell for sure. Whatever the case - me likey.

It's not real clear whose LTE he's talking about being "practically everywhere in Denver" by late Spring. I think he might actually be talking about AT&T's. In any event, this was over four months ago and I'm sure schedules have changed since. Since we've got one lit up, I would expect that we'd see a slow growth in the coming weeks, but I'm not necessarily planning on it. It happens when it happens. Already, the 3G in the area has improved substantially in the just the past few months, so that makes the wait just slightly less agonizing. 

If the Denver area is any indication, it's just a big tease. Get one tower going, get all the Denver area S4GRU forum readers salivating and then nothing for weeks. It's just wrong!

Maybe we'll get the entire metro area accepted in one week sometime down the road. Now that would be worth the wait!

It's a craps shoot when you're in a fringe area whether your phone will hit its LTE scan interval or not. Once you get that first hit, the phone (at least the S3) will record the tower ID you were connected to and when you are connected to that tower again, it will scan more frequently for an LTE signal.

I saw post by wireless tower installer  on xda developers that denver will get lte I guess he was right.

If all he said was that Denver was going to get LTE, then, yes he was right. But he could have said that for just about any location that has native Sprint service. It might be over a year away, but nearly every single Sprint serviced area will get LTE, no surprise there. Question is when each location will have a large enough footprint of LTE to be practical. 

It's not a question of whether it's a Sprint site or not. The sponsors section has a map where I've verified it is a Sprint tower, complete with the site ID. The question is whether or not it is officially "in progress" since there is no definite NV equipment visible. 

They may not have the NV panels up yet (I didn't think they looked like NV panels either), but it is a Sprint site and there is work going on. If that is not enough, maybe the OP can keep an eye on it and get some photos in a few days when the NV panels are up and it is official?

I've gone ahead and submited your info to the sponsor section thread of reporting in progress sites so it will show up when maps are updated. Let us know as soon as you grab some LTE love in the area and map that mo-fo on Sensorly.

I think there is an issue with Sprint not actually owning the network and having to rely on whatever partner runs the towers up there. They are not seeming to want to move forward with upgrading their equipment. I've been through Sioux Falls a few times in the past few months and data is horrific. 

Are you going off of an app on your phone? Those are showing the "target area" for the tower sectors. You won't find a tower where it shows. Spend a few bucks and donate to the site and gain access to the members section where you can get zoomable maps showing tower locations. It's very helpful and helps keep the site running. Money well spent without a question.

That would be nice to see it come on line in LoDo soon. However, I have had the same symptom here in Arvada a few times in the past few months and there are still no towers with NV equipment installed around here. If you know what tower you are connected to, go take a peek at it during lunch and see if you can see anything solid going on. If you have a camera, take a pic or two and submit it to the in progress thread.

Do they test from locations that provide comparable signal strength and quality among the carriers? I could pick a single place to do a test with my Sprint phone vs. friends VZ and AT&T and I would kick the pants off of them. Picking a random spot and testing all three from that one location gives you a great data point - for that one location. It's not representative of the coverage and speed of a network as a whole in a given city. 

If this was addressed in the article, I apologize, I don't have time to read it completely right now.

I bet if they do tests once NV is complete, Sprint will equal or best VZ and AT&T in most locations. 

Not to get hopes up again, but it's been another extended period of reversion to EV-DO in the Denver area. Going on 6 hours now. I'll take bets as to where and when the next LTE tower is accepted.

My sensorly contribution has been added. Picked it up a little further south on Pena than previously reported (right at 56th Ave) and again right at the tool plaza for a brief period. Don't think I ever got more than -100dB on the signal strength, but it's great to see the 4G icon in the Denver area finally.

My plan is to put my phone into LTE only mode and see how far out I can pick up the signal from this tower and map it on Sensorly when I head out to DIA this afternoon. I've noticed that someone has apparently gotten a very faint signal near the main terminal which is very impressive, even if it's not usable.

Since the first Lte site is up now do u think the rest of the sites should come up soon or will it be a while till some more go green?

Same question asked not even 48 hours later. What did you think would change? Remember I said that each time you asked the same question over and over and over that Sprint would delay LTE deployment in COS by a week for each offense? At this rate, you'll never see it down there. Ha ha. We're all anxious, but good Lord, take a chill pill, bud.

I looked at so many websites of various municipalities that they all ran together. Now that I look at the Denver site, I remember it as one of the easier ones to look up. The site that came online should be under either the Adams county or Brighton web site.

I searched by city and county; at least where the governing body had data searchable online. I'll dive into it again in the next few days and post what I find. I think I recall the city and county of Denver didn't have general search criteria and you had to have a permit number or physical address.

That seems like some pretty good range on that tower. It may not have been very usable, but holding the LTE all the way to Pena Blvd looks like nearly 4 miles measured on Maps. At least in my experience, that is impressive.
