You can have it run in the background after you open it and start mapping a trip, or you can have it run at "opportunistic" times on its own. Speedtests have to be run by you. For the record, the updated app is junk. I reverted back to an older version with Google maps layer and better functionality.

This is probably better put in the sponsors forum, since you are a sponsor and we're talking about the NV sites complete maps, so I'll address that aspect of it in a PM to you. As far as 4G, yes, the hardware is in place and all that need to be done is acceptance of LTE. It could be delayed due to many factors, but the most common reason is currently lack of backhaul being complete to the towers. I've had data issues in various cities I've been to throughout the US as they are working on NV. Sometimes, I can't send texts. I've never had voice issues, but I suppose I don't spend a whole lot of time using my phone as a phone these days.

Donate, become a sponsor and you can see all the towers that are slated to be NV upgraded, have been NV upgraded (and what parts of NV have been accepted by Sprint), and what sites are "in progress" based on user and contractor information. That's the easiest way to answer your question and you get a lot more info as well.

North of 160th and just east of Highway 85. If the trend holds, though, I would expect the NV hardware to be installed and then you'll have to wait for LTE to be activated for sometime. There are A LOT of towers with the hardware installed all over the metro area, yet very few are accepted and live. But when it happens, it's going to happen FAST!

I don't think we're supposed to post specific towers that went live in this this thread, but I will say that those with sponsorship status know which tower in Golden was accepted with LTE in the last report. I saw work being done on a tower in Brighton earlier today. Things are certainly moving along and once they get the backhaul figured out, we're going to be lit up like a Christmas tree!

I doubt it's the Genesee tower. Terrain between the tower and where the signal was received would preclude that. If it was C099, there should have been a signal a lot further north than just one mile from US-6 & 93 (the tower itself is nearly one mile N of the intersection). I'm banking on C100 or the Mines tower.

Joke's over. Please stop wasting our time. No reason to think you're spinning the story, just no reason to think it is anything BUT a story. This man, he may be very competent in cell phone repair, but that does not mean that he doesn't spread stories to get a rise out of people such as yourself. Seems to have worked in this case. I know plenty of very competent people that love to embellish the truth or even exercise their creativity with total fabrications. Provide some kind of documentation, or please, cease talking about this "incident" that, until proven otherwise, never happened. If you were a sponsor, you could see that yes, there are a large number of sites known to be "in progress" around the Denver area, and CO in general. Most still don't have the "netvision" (Network Vision) turned on yet for various reasons, mostly hypothesized to be related to backhaul delays.

T-Mobile CFO makes case for U.S. consolidation, Sprint deal
Craig replied to Rawvega's topic in General Topics
But how many of those techs/bands could one realistically pack into a handset? And even of you could for a reasonable price, what would the price of battery usage be? IF something like this were to happen, there would have to be a consolidation of network technologies as well I would think. They would have to keep T-Mo's girl for advertising, however or it's no deal. -
Not much of a surprise here. http://lifehacker.com/are-early-upgrade-plans-worth-it-1369868915 Discuss.

I took advantage of Robert's generous deal and upgraded to premier sponsor status for a $25 discount. All your answers are in there, specifically the thread titled "LTE 800 Deployment Maps". Now, go upgrade and enjoy. Do it before Sunday night (I believe that is when the offer ends). I could tell you the answers myself, but then, well, you know. . . You're welcome.

My condolences. Neither of those are my airline. Not even sure we still do the DEN-RAP route. Too bad, we stayed at the Hotel Johnson right in downtown. Nice little haunted hotel. Check it out sometime.

Robert, best of luck with the move and the new job. I agree about the Black Hills being one of the more beautiful spots in this great country. If you're flying back and forth between RAP and ABQ, be sure to stop up front if the flight attendant says that First Officer Mills is working that flight. I'll buy you an over-priced snack box. It's the least I can do. Bon Voyage!

It's Apple. They are very conservative when it comes to adding radio tech to the phones. Consider that there was no certainty that Sprint would even be able to close the Clearwire deal while some of the recently announced devices were in design, so it makes sense that the manufacturers would have only used the bands that they knew for certain would be used with Sprint's variant. Now that the whole band dilemma is solved, I would expect just about every forthcoming device to be tri-band capable. I suppose that Apple and even Samsung could have included 800 LTE at the very least since I don't think that slice of spectrum was ever dependent upon any deal that Sprint was working on over the last year plus, correct?

I'm sure you've seen this: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-351-teaser-is-the-lg-d820-the-nexus-5/ I was in the Note 3 boat, but no tri-band=no sale. Not sure what I'm looking at now. I'm eligible in April. The Megalith is probably too big, but it is a possibility I suppose, as is the Nexus 5 if it truly is tri-band.

It would be a hardware limitation, so it will never see LTE 41. Look at Sensorly.com (or the app) for good real-world coverage maps. Also, Sprint does have a trial period. You could always sign up and see how the service is where you need it. Not sure how porting works if you were to decide to go back to ATT, though. I believe Sprint stated not too long ago that they were not going to drop unlimited data in the foreseeable future. I'm thinking a few years at minimum. They will probably see how their subscriber base is after NV 2.0 and how their network is holding up and evaluate it then.

Maybe you should only quote the part you intend to disagree with instead of quoting the whole part about multiple sites being updated. Next time, quote only what you are disagreeing with as you just did above and then you won't have to try and save face while being a tool and back peddling. I saw nothing wrong with Robert's reply since you took the entire post and quoted it, in effect saying that everything in the post was a lie. Instead of getting all defensive, try to look at your posts before you hit the submit button. Back on topic, hopefully now that the rains are gone and things are starting to dry out, the inspectors can get out and start looking at some of those NV sites that are, in fact updated with the gear since they do, after all have their ar$ses in gear. Edit: Your phone seems to be the issue. It's a known LTE dud, so there is another of your problems.

By the title of your thread it sounds like you've already made up your mind that no one in Chicago on Sprint is happy, so why are you even considering Sprint? I'm confused.
