  1. I don't know. No carrier has forced anyone off their unlimited plan. They have instituted price hikes but that is not precluded by your unlimited guarantee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah but I don't think sprint is still planning on executing this plan in its entirety. I think I can say with confidence that sprint hasn't mentioned macro sites specifically since the first quarter of last year. All their talk since then has centered around small cells. I could be mistaken but I don't think they will be adding that many Marco sites. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Where did you get the 20000 number. They haven't talked about macro sites for quite a while. If they do manage to add that many macro sites that would average 383 for each of there 52 markets. To me that would go far beyond densification and would indicate a network expansion, which I haven't heard sprint talk about at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I just can't see that. Look at the coverage map they use on all of their broachers, their coverage map on the web site. It includes the roam area with vzw until you drill down to smaller geographical area. I just don't see them want to have a map that shows only their coverage map. Plus all of the talk has been about reducing roaming cost by building out in high roaming areas. This makes much more sense, as if sprint wants to continue to be a first tier carrier they need to have some kind of national network to offer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Those are price increases. That Is completely different to changing your plan. A plan change would involve moving a customer from unlimited to a limited plan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. They have to say that because if you drop direct tv or uverse they change your plan. ATT has never or for that matter any other wireless company that I know of, change the plan of a customer with out it being part of the plan the customer signed up for. That is the customer signed up for a promotional plan and the promotion expired. I have seen them implement price rises but that is another issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Every time they make "bold" announcement they disappoint. My guess it that They are either going to match T-Mobile or offer half off to unlimited plans for ports. The latter is bold but not that great for existing customers that may find it better for them to switch. But that is only a guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That is only looking at one side of the coin. The other part is the cost per user. Now in wireless most of the cost per user is fix so adding more users actually makes those costs, on a per user bases, go down. But there are variable cost each user brings too. 9. Att offer is in a league of it's own. It requires you get direct tv. It is there to steam cord cutting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Their website is wonky on this. It keeps quoting 4 lines at 180 and 6 at 240. With the free line it should be 150 and 240 respectively. Even if it corrects itself at check out, this is a weird way to present it to potential buyers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Issues with the nexus 6 aside, the website is really easy to use. Plus, I would just feel bad tying a sales rep down when half or more than half of their wages come from commission. If you order it online, I think it is kind of rude to have a store rep that didn't get paid spend his time activating it. My personal opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. What do you mean over paying for service? The activation fee is a part of service, you are simply bragging about underpaying for service. Which hey, good for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It will be extended until Sprint reaches a deal with the aggrieved parties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So, masa should buy a house and continue to employ the thousands he is laying off for another six months as an act of charity? The company is trying to become more efficient so that it can compete. The employees they are laying off are not an efficient use of resources in the mind of management. 15. I think vzw CTO said it best when he explained the difference between what his company has done (and att) with their network and what Sprint has done. He said that vzw has had a steady progression on technology with each upgrade building on what came before, sprint is a company that has had several pivots, where they have attempted to leap from one point to another. I think he pretty much nailed it. Only sprint has decommission a 3G technology and a 4g technology, only sprint significantly reduced the number of cell sites owned (went from 60 to 40 thousand when they shut off Nextel) and only sprint did a full rip and replace of their network (which is still only largely complete). What sprint has done is materially different than what other companies have done and to this point hasn't been rewarded. It will be interesting to see if they make the latest pivot work for them. Look, what adding the detail they did add today do for the tone of the reports and the stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The difference is two fold. First, sprint is struggling bad finically, which means the markets need clarification on how they spend there money. Second, sprint is under going its third massive, transformative network mega project in 8 years ( WiMAX, Nv 1.0, NGN). On top of that sprint is attempting a massive cost savings effort. None of the other carriers have attempted something like this and none have sprint's balance sheet. So, sprint shouldn't expect to be treat by analyst and the media the same way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Then, I would agree with the analysis. It would be plain stupid to through away the work/investment of network vision and on top of that severely reduce the value of their assets right before they do network lease co. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yup. Sprint can't deploy VoLTE given its current cite density. It is either small cells or 10,000 or so new macro cites. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. In all honesty this is Sprint's fault. By being mum on it's NGN work plans and failing to increase capital expenditure guidance, sprint force the media and industry analysis to talk to tower companies, vendor partners and others, who probably only have parts of sprint's plans, in order to piece together what is going on. Sprint created the environment for this kind of speculation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Didn't get it working until I got to the Netherlands, but great here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I recently used chat for my international issues. There was no wait, ended up talking with them for about an hour. Didn't get my problem solved but got through at least. By the way if you have an iPhone and can't connect to a network while roaming international try restore the to factory settings and doing a restore from iCloud. I figured that out on my own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So, I can't find the open world thread but I am in Iceland on the open world plan and my iPhone has no service. Ran though international chat and they gave up and told me to chat back when tech. Support is up... Anyone have any ideas... I have reset network setting, manually connected to the roaming partner and nothing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The debt issue is real, which is what the stock price is reacting to. The problem is sprint isn't going to be able to borrow to refinance their debt from the high yield markets any way. Now from what I read is that the bond holders have no claim on sprint assets if they default (how sprint pulled that off I don't know) which means I think sprint is under valued right now (just a guess not advise). I hope tower lease co will off set the concern but who knows the market is tanking in general and there is a good chance we are heading to recession. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Read every definition you gave. They all said " giving money for the purpose of preventing said institution from failing". That is not why SoftBank bought sprint. It many have been a consequence of, but then we don't know because a world where SoftBank doesn't buy sprint doesn't exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. No, it is not. They have two entirely separate meanings. SoftBank saw an opportunity to profit and took it. If that perception wasn't there they wouldn't have done it. The government bailouts were done specifically to keep those organization going, regardless of weather or not profits were seen ahead of time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
