  1. It worked because AT&T was an established brand with a good reputation. Also, there was nothing wrong with either SBC or Cingular, AT&T just tested better. Not exactly the same circumstances in which Sprint would be executing a brand change. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  2. Shut down CDMA use B26 for GSM voice. Kill off 1x800. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  3. Tmobile-sprint-dish. Said company would be able to compete with tradition wired ISPs. This would be my dream. Cable companies are regional, so a tie up with one of them would be really good in some areas and not so exciting for most of the country. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  4. Not intercity roads. Freeways can and that is a great argument for privatization. In any case the problem with lack of fiber is the government not private ownership is the point. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  5. An ass. I really do hate NIMBYs, they are usually the first to complain about coverage but they complain about the infustructor need to get coverage. No one sees cell towers unless they are looking for them. Besides, they don't look any worse than powerlines. They should be ignored. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  6. No it is not like roads. Roads cant be monetize that is why they are public good. The is no reason why fiber cant be monetized and it is successfully. They are not public goods, if you are in happy with the lack of choice you or wireless companies like sprint have blame the right people, your local government. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  7. I don't know how that would fix anything. The number one cost to running fiber is the government, just ask google. That is why had cities bid for google fiber, so they could hold local regulatory cost down. Just image if the government ran it and some politician had to choose shutting down part of a major city's road system during an election year. Not to mention all the other public choice problems. 8. Except for more 7 billion sprint invested in the wimax network. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  9. You missed the point I was making. The years before NV was conceived was years of Sprint spliting CAPEX between 3 technologies, weakening their core CDMA network to the point it was not longer competitive and a wimax network that wasn't nation wide. This forced sprint into a position where NV was the last hail marry play they had left. It was even described at the time as a "bet the company" play at the time. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  10. More like desperation. Years of spliting capex between the different technologies starved their core network of funds. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  11. That was the other cool part about these things, he said that the network would be able to optimize them remotely so that would interfere with each other. He later said that with 2.5 and millions of cell sites sprint has a competitive advantage. It is hard to make sense of that "millions of cell site" comment without sprint planing on a million or so of these things being pumped out. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  12. Positive. That is what got me excited about it. An airave that doesnt need a user's internet for back haul isn't that exciting to me. I listen to his part of the call twice. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  13. I dont know why he would make a point of it then. He seemed pretty excited by the prospects of having these things fill in gaps or weak b41 areas, indoor and out. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  14. Masa seems pretty convinced that it was going to help with outdoor coverage. He make that point several times during the call. Is that not the case? Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  15. They are test areas. It does sprint no good to get cherry picked data on their new network model. if they are going to base decisions on how to spend capital off it, the data needs to be accurate and it appears they are. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  16. I really wanted to known what Masa was going to say at the end of the conference call. To bad he got cut off, but it was kind of funny. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  17. I think it is VZW. Sprint doesn't seem all that interested in buy new spectrum. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  18. What happen to Sprint's CCA plans there seems to be serveral players that never seemed to come online with roaming agreements. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
  19. We are the same as vzw where we have service and priced the same isn't really a good selling point. Vzw has service in more places. I am trying to think of a reason a general consumer who choose sprint over anyother carrier. I think the "it works for me campaign" is a perfect example of what i am talking about. What does that even mean? Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
  20. Sprint should have been allowed to merge with Tmobile. Now it is hard to see where they go from here. I can't even think of a good reason to select them over any of the other carriers. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
  21. Fix the network has become something of a leitmotif of Sprint as a company. It might as well become their new company slogan. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
  22. Time will tell. It is a bet and a little bit of propaganda on both sides to back their bets. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
